I believe there's one in the Brier Creek HT, too. I love a good cocktail but those aren't exactly the environs I'd like to partake in. I guess it could lead to more spending?

My problem with Charlotte's airport.

-Long security lines
-Long lines to pick up/drop off passengers
-Not enough seating in gate areas so people just crowd around
-Rude TSA staff

Among other things but I don't have the patience to type everything out at the moment.
Look a new way to pass the time there. I have a bit of travel coming up and I dread having to pass through there. My sis said the lines at 5 am were horrible two weeks ago.

yep. Most of the Lowe's Foods around me have one as well, it's getting to be common. With my social anxiety it's almost a necessity if it's at all crowded when I go shopping.

I hear ya. I might visit a mall 2-3x a year max. I've been ordering groceries online for years as I had to while in the caregiving bubble and it stuck. I will venture in occasionally for a necessity.

I recently read that since Covid, half the population has kept their pandemic behaviors. Not necessarily due to health concerns, but because they don't really want to be around people much anymore or pay for services or products that they really don't need.

Grew up in the Syracuse suburbs for the most part.

Basically the area code where NFL fandoms of the downstate teams (NYG/NYJ) blend with Bills fans, but far enough away from Buffalo where we call soft drinks "soda" instead of "pop" like they do from Rochester westward.
there's a few of us on the board that lived in some part of the area. I lived a bit north of Elmira for a few years between moving from New England to NC, so the crossover fandom wise was more of a Pittsburgh/Buffalo divide with a few NYG and NYR fans.

Which suburb? I grew up about a mile from Corcoran High School (neighborhood was different back then from what I'm sure it's like now).

There definitely is one at the Harris Teeter there, as I live in that area and go to that store often. It's been there for a couple years at least. It's always busy at that bar, but Thursday nights are packed with live music and they serve prime rib dinners as well. Many Harris Teeters and Lowes Grocery stores across NC now have them.

I know we've had this discussion in the past, but my wife was born in Buffalo, and lived in Elmira through 8th grade. Her family then moved up to the Finger Lakes area and most of them still reside there today. A couple of them either owned or still own wineries.

I thought that was the Harris Teeter in New Bern for a moment haha. A friend raves about the prime rib dinner and hitting up the bar. I guess it’s cool but I’m just trying to get in and out as quickly as possible.

Same here. Not even accounting for the Bar, the Brier Creek Harris Teeter is always packed and they are often picked over, particularly fresh vegetables. I sometimes drive a little further for the one off 98 (and Creedmoor?)

That's a little more information that I'd like to disclose (no offense intended.)

Ours is always packed during normal hours, im not a fresh veggie buyer (grocery shopping for one is the worst) most of the time so I like to hit it up later at night. A lot of the time I just end up at Publix though.

This is random but I am so hungry right now.

Like I want to follow a Bojangles run with a Publix Sub and an avalanche of jalapeño kettle chips and sweet tea. That kind of hungry.

I don't live near any of those places. But I can get the chips and there is Chik-fil-A.

EDIT: But tomorrow is Sunday. f***.

I can definitely NOT recommend spending 25+ straight hours in the Philly airport...or any airport for that matter. (Although the Doha airport is quite a sight to see.)

I got stuck there on a layover once. Looking for something to do, I googled “best things to do at the Philadelphia airport”. For the terminal I was in, the guide said (I shit you not) that it was the best terminal to get some sleep.

I don’t know what I was expecting, but the most highly recommended thing to do was to be unconscious.

A while back we were talking about pollution of 2 cycle engines and how there is no longer a need for them with battery technology where it is. I now have some first hand experience with an Ego system.

At our farm, it takes me about 3.5 hours to take care of all the string trimming. The Ego Multi-head system came with one 2.5Ah battery and a standard charger. I bought a 2nd 2.5Ah battery. It takes 50 min. to charge the battery fully (although they also have a rapid charger for another $150 which would charge it in 30 min.). A 5Ah battery would cost another $300. A 12Ah battery would be $600.

I've timed it twice and each battery lasts around 22 min. when I'm using the string trimmer, so I can get about 20% of the job done before both batteries are dead. I could drive all the way back to the barn and plug one in while using the other one, but driving back and forth constantly (it's almost 40 acres) would increase the time even more and it wouldn't be fully charged by the time the 2nd battery died. Based on this, a 12Ah battery would last 1H, 45M, so even one of those would only do 1/2 the job. Adding a higher capacity battery also would throw off the balance of the system as they would add more weight to the back end of the system and it's pretty well balanced right now.

It's a very nice, high quality tool. It's perfect for the hedge trimming and pole saw attachments, or if you only have to do 20 minutes of string trimming. I can see how commercial lawn companies would not make the switch though. That said, like with power tools, the battery technology will eventually get there.
