Reading some more posts on the Hurricanes board and a few of them are saying this season wasn't a failure because they beat the Bruins and the east was tough this year lol. If I was them, I'd be in meltdown mode. They have not improved since making the conference finals in 2019. Sad! Hopefully that's not us in a few years.

Can we talk about how bad the announcing was last night?

Serious, what the f***. The first half of the third period was spent lamenting about the Hurricanes injuries. The final 10 minutes was focused entirely on Tampa.

Other than a few comments on Lindgren blocking a shot, they didn’t compliment the Rangers a single time. They just rambled on about how difficult Tampa Bay is going to be. How is that acceptable?

It was a complete joke. Tried not to be negative after such a great win but it is infuriating how negative the ESPN coverage was towards the NYR. And don't even get me started on the camera work.

For all the love Rod and the Canes get in the analytics community, they have yet to win a game past round 2 in his tenure. They also quite frankly dont have the game breaking talent up front that you need to go deep in the playoffs.

I was laughed at before the series for suggesting the Rangers had the 5 best players on the ice between the 2 teams. Is anyone doubting that now?

I will firmly place myself in what seems to be the minority in that I like Vatrano.

Dun care what none ya'll say.

Of all nights, of all the elimination games, last night was the one I couldn't sleep after LOL

Yes. They have 2 defenseman that are elite and Aho.

Yeah Aho was really terrifying with his 6 points in 7 games and zero goals after game 2. Zibanejad skated circles around him all series. And Slavin is elite defensively but a clear step below the Fox/Hedman/Makar class, and who is the other one? Tony D? Dont make me laugh. None of their alleged studs did a damn thing when it mattered.

“The Rangers move on to Tampa”

If you know you know

How about "Lindgren to defend"

This was when Lindgren was on the ice for this first shift upon returning to the game. The guy left the game and didn't look like he was going to return, then comes back miraculously, and McDonough didn't even acknowledge his return and just called the play like Lindgren never left lol

Pesce.

It's amazing how salty Penguins fans still are. Seeing the comments on Twitter about Trouba's hit and it's all from Penguins fans. Get over it already

If not for Trouba they were gonna win the cup. It's also so unfair they had goalie injuries. Little do they know the Rangers would rather face a teams #1. That's when we play well.

Everytime the training staff attends to Lindgren in the locker room...

It's not just ESPN. I'm listening to NHL radio at work right now, this guy Tyler Materaz or however he spells it, basically laughed and implied Carolina didn't win because of Raanta and Andersen wasn't in net.

They can cry all they want I love watching and hearing the jealous of NYC hockey world melt down because of any Rangers success.

I always found that funny, considering that hockey as a sport was at its peak of popularity in the US in the early to mid 90s when Disney made a couple Ducks movies and the Rangers won a Cup and brought popularity to the sport.

It sure as heck wasn't the Devils who couldn't sell out the Byrne Arena in the playoffs.

My proof of this fact is hockey in my town was so popular back then that there were no shortages of pick up games and we had enough kids to fill a JV and Varcity team. Now? The high school doesn't even have a team after years of having to combine towns together to fill one roster.

If the Rangers win a Cup here, watch kids in the metro area start playing street hockey and growing the game at the grass roots again.

The largest market in the US. The largest fan base in the US. The most well traveled fan base in the league. The only NHL franchise worth over $2 billion. Historically the Rangers have carried the league.

So naturally the talking heads are going to be jealous of that success, especially when you have fan bases abandoning their team in a game 7 leaving more visiting Rangers fans in the arena than the hometown team's own fans.

We Rangers fans never abandon our team. We fill the arena even in losing seasons. And the Rangers never shamed themselves by tanking like basically every other franchise in the league has done.

So they can all suck it. LGR.

Did we ever get another view on that Strome miss ? Did he whiff or what
Shot right away, slightly back towards the part of the goal where the goalie was still covering, and had he waited .25 seconds longer he would have actually had the entire net

I said the same things basically. That Carolina was all system and no substance. If you beat their system and survive their picks and interferences, they have nothing else other than Aho. Smoke and mirrors. Tip of the hat for clogging up the ice and dragging it out to 7 games. Rangers were always the better team and they proved it, with an exclamation point spanking in game 7.

The real test starts Tuesdsy night.

The broadcast is terrible when it comes to the ability of Sean McDonaugh. Just not a fan of his PBP. I miss NBC big time, they always had a competent guy there even though I don't love Kenny Albert as much as most of you.

When it comes to bias though, I just read the Canes thread and they think the same about them so we might be wrong there
