I actually thought Panarin had a good game tonight. He looked much more like himself. It would be perfect timing if he started to heat up right about now.
Honestly, I didn't want to post anything negative, but I thought he was dogshit yet again. He wasn't skating at all on either end & all he was doing in his own zone were those drive-by, ole' stick checks. He had zero impact nor did he create any scoring chances I can recall.

He did cut down on his cross ice passes to the other team, so I guess that's progress.

I mean, it's what happens when ESPN has non-hockey people producing the broadcast.

People are making way too much of it, it was probably a regular hand shake a "congrats" and that's it. What are you guys expecting to happen?

I'm pretty sure those guys hate each other less than we hate either player.

Yeah I mean he wasn’t great, but he was mostly fine. He was burned ass in games 1-5 though so him being meh fine is a big improvement for me. Hopefully with Tampa being a less smothering team that Panarin will make good use of the extra time and space. Hopefully his slight improvement keeps going up until he’s back to himself.

He did get an assist tonight on the Strome goal he sprung Strome on the 2 on 1.

Anyone who wanted to lose to keep that pick needs their head examined. The amount of picks we’ve made in the past few years we have so many assets, I gladly take the trip to the ECF in exchange for that pick. The experience for everyone from Igor on out is massive not to mention the kids actually being important contributors.
And you can't say Copp hasn't been worth what we gave away. Dude has been phenomenal for us.

Gallant needs to knock it off with this 4th line/3rd pair nonsense.

MAYBE he can start f***ing around with it if Blais comes back (and who knows what he's going to look like) but with Reaves it's just.... asking for it to come back and bite us in the ass.

We are considerably better with out Rooney though. Remove Reaves from the equation and I imagine that the improvement would be similar.

Brindamour did the exact same thing...to match up with us.

So, aside from 4 games against a Panthers team many people felt might be a paper tiger, Tampa struggled to get past Toronto (who wouldn’t have scared me) and I honestly don’t think I felt like I was scared of Tampa before the playoff started. Sure, they’ve proven they’re still not to be taken lightly, but I was WAY more scared of Carolina coming into the playoffs than I am of Tampa.

Personally? I think the Rangers are making it to the SCF.

Is it possible that this was because we were coming off a shaky series against the Pens that they didn't look good for long periods of time and now we're coming off a much better series win?
