If this gets to 7, Igor is going to will this team to be at least competitive. He'll shut the door when it matters. How insane is it that he's above a .920 save percentage after the series he had against Pittsburgh? The team in front of him has let him down in Game 1, 2, and 5.

If they can push to game 7, it's gonna take a hell of a lot of puck luck and Igor playing the game of his life because we can generate offense for shit in that building. They could throw Georgiev in net and the results of this series would be the same. Just way too easy.
Yeah but if we played Georgiev at least fans would have an excuse for us playing shit saying the team doesn't want to play in front of Geo that's why they're not scoring.

Talking about trading Panarin is crazy. I understand the logic but he’s too important to the team. He’s been a solid playoff player in the past so it’s not like it’s his style of play that’s the problem. He’s clearly off his game and most definitely playing injured. That doesn’t excuse his play because everyone is injured, but I’m not getting rid of our best player because he had a poor playoff showing (while scoring a series winning OT goal) while injured. He’s not getting traded, nor should he short of swapping him for McDavid or Matthews or Draisatil.

I really think having an injured Panarin with an injured Copp and our slowest and most meandering center in the middle, it’s no surprise that line isn’t working. Copp can barely move, Strome chooses not to move and you have Panarin who is clearly injured and it’s limiting his passing and obviously it’s in his head and messing up his timing and passing. He’s trying to do too much and overthinking everything. They need to be broken up.
Strome chooses not to move because his job on that line is to stay close to Panarin and be his personal puck support and butler. Beyond maddening.

Say it comes out Panarin wasn’t hurt…. Whata your opinion then?

He doesn’t look hurt to me, at all. He’s allergic to going anywhere near a high danger area, especially when it comes to the slot or on top of the crease ever. I’m not saying that’s his bread and butter or he has to re-invent the wheel, but he’s not playing playoff hockey.

I hope I’m wrong but he just might not be good in playoffs. You don’t get paid almost $12 mil either to ‘be solid’, as I’ve seen it put.

Even now I'm frustrated with now much Lafreniere is playing.

The kid line was one of our most effective and were still firmly the third line. Laf was effective at RW and Copp can play center, so we have no shortage of options.

At this point we're watching Lafreniere play less so we can watch Strome jerk off more.

Trading Panarin or Kreider is not happening, nor should it, its dumb to even bring up the possibility. Panarin has produced well on the PP, but at 5v5 he's getting no time and space because Copp is playing injured and other teams just leave Strome wide open because he cant finish a chance if his life depended on it.

Im not gonna defend him too hard because hes made plenty of boneheaded decisions that have nothing to do with his linemates or him playing hurt, but the solution to our offensive issues isnt to get rid of Panarin.

About shooting the puck, perhaps the Shoot the puck Barry, shoot the puck. The perfect passing reminds me of Barry Beck, who had a great shot and not taking it, but had a pass first mentality. Could never figure that out.
Shoot the damn puck

Shesterkin's extension is when I turn heel but let's save that for later.
I know how you feel about it. That's an issue that can be evaluated at that time. A lot of that will depend on if the window is still open in three years. I'm leaning towards yes, but I'll go on a hunch and say that team in three years will look unrecognizable relative to today's team.

$8 million?!?!?!

Let him get a 50 point season first.
For sure, but I'm getting the sense it's going to be all or nothing for him. Either he ends up a poor man's Marian Hossa providing elite defensive play and 60 points a year or he's a 3rd line, 30 point player. Even then, if he's not dealt this summer or next while he still has value, he's a player I hold onto, as long as his salary reflects it. It may sound crazy, but if the opportunity is right, I'd Jarnkrok him. 7 years, $25 million if he'd take it this summer. But he's going to want a short term deal and bet on himself after an injury riddled year.

And he wasn’t even bad today. He had several blocked shots, broke up a 2 on 1, intercepted pucks to keep them in the zone, he gave an effort. I know I’m the resident Panarin fanboy but I think people are always super harsh on him. During the regular season there were so many games our GDT is full of complaining about him and I read the other teams GDT and they’re fawning over him.
