How does an 11 million dollar player not score a PP goal all year? Like one at the very least?
Bc his team had not been scoring PP goals, lol.How does an 11 million dollar player not score a PP goal all year? Like one at the very least?
He’s not allowed to score them?Bc his team had not been scoring PP goals, lol.
Pretty sure he is allowed but he just can’t bc his shot sucksHe’s not allowed to score them?
He should feast on weaker teams. So it against done team teams andv we'll talk. He was also useless in game 7. I don't see why any of them deserve any praise.Wow you’d figure 5 goals in 7 games would silence even the harshest critics
actual footage of this in the locker roomWho would win in a hockey fight Marner or Nylander?
The short answer is he is not an 11 million dollar player in any of the know universeHow does an 11 million dollar player not score a PP goal all year? Like one at the very least?
Leaving them out for 3 to 4 minutes was mind blowing. Marner doesn't have an NHL shot Mathews got double teamed because of it.I made a reply to a post about Nylander.
Marner did do the same thing twice. Marner’s play in the series should not be the measurement. Matthews was marginally better than Marner, and people using that a measurement are giving Matthews a pass instead of measuring Matthews bs himself, to which he didn’t come anywhere near playing to his standards and abilities himself.
If Marner was the measurement, everyone gets a pass.
And this post misses its mark like you have. Nylander has Drive.actual footage of this in the locker room

Didnt he score the only goal? If Nylander score 5g a serie i expect at least 7-8 goals from Matthews and 10p from Marner (9 assist 1G). Nylander should never be the highest scorer, not paid for that. And he should damn well be appreciated for scoring goals when nobody else do. He cant win games all on his own. The 11mil masterminds can. Are at least paid to be able to.He should feast on weaker teams. So it against done team teams andv we'll talk. He was also useless in game 7. I don't see why any of them deserve any praise.
Well that's the whole point. I don't see Sebastian Aho or Brayden Point or Mikko Rantanen disappearing when the going gets tough. These are the players who have been compared to Marner and have been ranked decidedly lower by TML fans. Yet I would take any of them over Mitch at this point. September 13, 2019: we all knew how this could end up. Maybe, just maybe, the people who said Marner's stats are inflated, he is not as good as he is made out to be, and is closer to Nylander than he is to Matthews had a point.Marner will have a rough time these days during these types of discussions because of the expectations that come with his cap hit. He's expected to be a top 5 winger out on the ice every second of icetime that he gets, and so a performance during the post season where he was fine to decent even ends up as a perceived negative due to the expectations set by that contract. He was fantastic defensively against the Habs, but that's not why he makes almost 11 mil aav (he makes that because he's expected to find a way to produce offense at a rate that's much higher than the other skaters on the ice).
Nylander on the other hand is paid to produce like a 1st liner, and so the on ice expectations vs salary/contract are lower (as they should be).
Marner has been taking a lot of criticism lately, and some of it is probably unfair, but ultimately he's got to find a way to perform at the level that's expected of him when it counts.
Not by me, he's not. Which is why I would have never paid him anywhere close to $11 million. That is Dubas's evaluation of him, yes I agree. I think pigs will fly before Marner will be worth that contract. He's expected to be a top 5 winger out on the ice every second of icetime that he gets
Chicago has been a bottom dweller ever since giving a winger over $10 million
I don’t hate the guy. I just don’t think he will be a guy we can rely on when the chips are down either. I really don’t think we have many of those guys. Why on earth are you hating against Nylander? He was our best player
He looked completely poised vs the habs .. had 8p in 7 games and is a 65 point winger making 6.9 mill a year. He's doing what he gets paid to do and is 100% worth his cap.
I expect nobody else but Matthews and JT to lead this team.
Only mcdavid and eichel signed 8 year deals. The industry standard for elite elc players is 5/6 years. Tired of this lazy narrativeAnd Matthews should be signed to 8 years. Not sure who’s idea it was to let a rookie GM handle negotiations
Why would any of them of signed those deals? Those are all under valueShould have been:
Nylander - $6m x 8 years
Marner - $8m x 8 years
Matthews - $10m x 8 years
No NMC / NTC etc when eligible
No signing bonuses
Who cares about industry standard? If you want to be top of your industry, you need to be better than the standard.Only mcdavid and eichel signed 8 year deals. The industry standard for elite elc players is 5/6 years. Tired of this lazy narrative
If you don't sign for the same number of years, then you don't get to use them as a comparable for the average cap hit either. Basically, no matter how you look at it, Dubas's contracts are disgusting. Rantanen purposely waited out Marner and still got nothing like him even though he's a better player. But I'm sure he got more than he otherwise would have, the Dubas bonus if you will. But Colorado wasn't going to go full Dubas and I'm sure they made that clear.Only mcdavid and eichel signed 8 year deals. The industry standard for elite elc players is 5/6 years. Why would Brayden Point sign his deal after a 40+ goal 90+ point season? And as a Selke caliber centreman? Why would any of them of signed those deals? Those are all under value
A bridge deal is usually when you have something to prove, and Point has nothing to prove, he's an elite player. I think he just caved. That's incredible value for the Lightning. Why would Brayden Point sign his deal after a 40+ goal 90+ point season? And as a Selke caliber centreman?
