the only one who should lose his job is Gary bettman for the incompetent referees that he keeps defending
see normally I agree with that.
but there comees a point where 1st round exists simply aren't acceptable anymore.
How many more 1st round exists does Dubas get?
What are they going to pay him with, sand?
By that time, Arizona will be playing out of a mall with 14 "fans" watching through the front window at GameStop.
Dubas can only put together the best team that he can and at some point its up to the players to get the job done on the ice. Even if he were somehow able to miraculously get McDavid and Crosby on the Leafs, if they can't come through on the ice in the playoffs when it matters most, that's on the players and not the GM who brought them in.
If Dubas were making a number of bad moves then I'd agree that change would be necessary, but he's largely made moves that have been beneficial for the team and if he can keep doing that then I don't know why we need to fire him for the sake of change when the next GM may not be anywhere near as good as him.
Zero.
Stop this f***ing nonsense. You literally cannor put a better team together. We almost beat the 2x defending champs in 6 games, we should have.
Unfortunately we lost the series here, the team will f*** themselves in game 7 like they always do, its still not the managements fault, we are playing a good team
Start with that motherf***er corrupt Bettman though. No Canadian team will ever win the cup while that sick f*** is in the chair.
I hate Bettman to but the reason no Canadian team has won the cup since 1993 is because for the most part they have sucked
usually when they go on runs it's a magical cinderlla run.
How many Canadian teams that have gone to the final have been legitimately good and not just on a hot run?
I can think of 2
Ottawa in 2007
Vancouver in 2011
that''s it
Rent or not, Yotes are paying the 60m minimum (or whatever it is next year) no matter what. The hometown kid coming home to save the franchise would be catnip for Bettman. The media would love nothing more that to rub that in leafs fan faces for the next eight plus years while setting up the new America (Matthews) vs Canada (McDavid) battle.
The late 80's/early 90's Whalers have the record at 6 straight seasons with a first round exit. Considering the league considers the Pens playoff streak still active despite them also losing in the playins in the bubble... as far as the league is concerned, 24 teams made the playoffs that year. So we'd tie the record if we lose.I still think the front office will stay together but be told there has to be a significant shakeup of the core.
It would be six years and counting.
Anybody know what the NHL record is for consecutive 1st round exits?

I hope nobody. Dubai is building a great team and if we can't beat the refs, who can?
Agreed. Arizona will never be a threat.you don't seem to get it, they do not have money, they don't even offically have an arena for next season and when they do that's going to be about 3500 seats, I know people say 5000 but they have to take out 1500-1800 seats to build lockers because they can't use the lockers there because it's against regulations.
He's not playing in front of 3500 fans
None, and a lot of people will be furious I'm sure.
