How am i supposed to prove that without inside information on trades Insiders from tsn dreger and mackenzie have said this sorta stuff repeatedly As i posted in other posts this sorta thing happens but is kept between the two teams but happens Trade talk happens a lot more then actual trades. Stuff like this is kept quiet to try and not let everyone know As far as finding one trade like that I will glady go back and research it if you can provide me a link or a list of all the scouts at what games As it would be a necessary to have that to prove it.

Pure speculation but I think management is higher on Weal than Sutter.

I love Sutter I knew Weal wouldn't see a game for some time after his cough up.

There was ZERO chance of O'Neill making the kings roster. So, why have him play on the first line, BUT to showcase him for a trade? Do you really think that if O'Neill had a hat trick that they would have kept him over AA or Weal?

I have never said that absolutely wasn't a showcase. It very well could be. I'm asking for one example of it occurring on a team in a meaningful game (IE points in the standing are on the line) that's still in the playoff hunt (IE not a seller at the trade deadline). He's saying to play Weal now to showcase him and LA is both very much in the playoff hunt obviously and these are meaningful games. Weal is playing because he can help the team, not so he can up his trade value.

I'm not moving the goalposts. I just don't think the preseason counts as a 'showcase' in the trade sense because every team is then showcasing a ton of players. I mean, hell, I guess we were also showcasing Mersch, Gravel, LoVerde, even Schultz, eh? That's fine if you disagree and don't want to add to it, my point was just that Weal isn't going to play just for DL to show him off and bump his trade value, that just doesn't happen--and if it does, prove it by providing someone who got a bump in playing time or playing time at all shortly before a trade. That's it. If you can't, you can't, no hard feelings. I feel 99% confident that no one will be able to find more than a small handful of examples and that most of them will be easily explainable.

I can generally agree with what you're saying, I'll just have to disagree on the point that 'showcases' happen as a primary motivation for a player to get into a lineup. Is it an auxiliary benefit? Certainly (in most cases, heh). It would benefit Weal to be getting playing time from a trade value standpoint, but that's not why he'd come into the lineup, imo, and that goes for just about anyone else.

So far too, looks like the majority says he'll only be in 10-25 games.
