Preds 2023 1st +Fabbro + Schaefer

Montreal gets picks and a pretty good RD to shore up their Terrible Right side and a young big prospect that will make Anderson redundant in a year or two.

And will have a gaping hole at 1/2C which has plagued the Habs for iver a decade…

Dvorsky or Smith will be there at 5th OV and with the 15th pick you have lots of great options in C or perhaps bundle the Preds and Florida pick + to try and snag ReinBacher.

See if you can get PLD somehow and you've got

PLD
Smith/Dvorsky
Beck

Which looks pretty good going into the future.

Matter of principle.

Yeah, but way too far-fetched.

MTL is in no position to trade Suzuki, simply put.

Here's what it'd take

Preds 1st
Askarov
Evangelista

Jusy to start.

We don't need a bottom pair RHD we have Savard for that. Fabbro will never be a top pair RHD

Savard is a bottom pairing D on a AHL team.
He's played really well for us for the past 2 season. Solid veteran presence for all of our kids.

Fabbro isn't any better than him. Albeit younger... But we have youth on the D side already.

If the deal makes sense, it will happen.

Not sure why you guys are acting like Predators don’t have assets.

But anwyay, that’s cool. I understand your perspective
Predators don’t have the assets… not sure why your acting like they do

You are throwing out a ridiculous proposal, you’re the one who should justify it.

Fabbro was already a top pair RHD all of 2021-22 though.

Anyway, I just don't think the Preds should pursue Suzuki at all. I wouldn't give up any of our significant futures for him. He's a good player, but so far he's just a 0.7 ppg guy, and maybe he gets to 1 ppg some day, but that's not going to move the needle for us. We already saw that acquiring guys like Johansen and Duchene didn't really make any huge difference; they are all good players, and Suzuki is very much in that class of player, but they don't really make enough of a difference to a team that we should mortgage our future for one. Let the Habs fans have their version of that player, he's not a realstic target for any trade.

No. Not available, but if he was this wouldn’t be close. Montreal taking an $8m cap dump and adding a 3rd is hilarious. Montreal will keep their young captain and continue the rebuild. You can keep your cap dump, mid 1st and good goalie prospect thst may never be a starter (like all goalie prospects, they’re voodoo and not worth much in a trade)

There's a grand canyon sized gap between those two players. I would hope even the most biased Hab fan would be able to see that..
Yeah. I’m not sure how you mention the 2 players in the sane sentence. And I love Suzuki.

What's with all these ridiculous threads about trading away the Habs young players and or picks?

No, we're not moving Suzuki.

Suzuki is good but incredibly overrated just because we haven't had a star player in many decades and the fanbase(which doesn't really follow the rest of the NHL as much as other fanbases) has no idea that every other team actually has PPG+ players. Personally if Kemell or L'Heureux are on the table with a 1st round pick I'm jumping on that. I think Kemell will be better or just as good but with more goal scoring and L'Heureux much more interesting and useful than a generic 2nd line scorer like Suzuki even if he doesn't end up scoring as many points.
