Are those slashes "or" or are they "and"?
If they are "ands" then it's a rowboats for battleships trade with a lot of oars thrown in. If those are "ors" then it is way, way too short.
considering Horvat resigns with the Sabres making all things potentially happening happen...
Thats roughly a late first (what ollofsson could bring at the deadline)
a 2nd (at the very latest what Johnson becomes if he walks, more if you value Portillo and Johnson at their face value not just what Buffalo stands to lose them for)

I didnt mention the Myers addition because I don't deem it really necessary and I'd be fine not including him. Frankly I'd rather add Schenn myself but neither here nor there I reckon.

if you are getting bo horvat with a contract from vancouver, vancouver needs a blue chip asset included
Picks can't be conditional on signings, so that 2nd doesn't work.
Honest question I have regarding CBA. If Johnson walks as a free agent, Buffalo gets a compensatory 2nd round pick, if he is traded and then walks does the acquiring team actually get the same compensation?

That's so bad for Buffalo, while also mostly ignoring Vancouver's wants if they are forced to trade Horvat.
It certain fulfills a rowboats for battleships idea of giving Vancouver a lot of stuff but none of it anywhere being a bluechip prospect in return.

Remove the top 10 protection, for a start. Other teams might still think we’ll tank, have the confidence that we won’t.
Does Vancouver know they’re getting Fitzgerald, or are we just putting him on the plane and not telling them?
I think maybe replace Fitz with a real D prospect, but I’m not sure we have what they want. I also don’t think they’d want VO, I’d kinda assume Casey would be the ask between those two.

Yeah, paying a premium for a guy in a contract year who is playing way over his career norms does seem like something teams should look at and probably moderates what someone would offer.

Horvat is on a hot streak and is playing well but he is a #2 center but this package looks like a Jim Benning shuffle and I like Ryan Johnson quite a bit.
Horvat and Myers to Buf is a workable trade if you want both.
Gotta simplify the deal though. Horvat is worth some level of 1st round pick, and excellent prospect. Now if the idea you're proposing is to take Myers back as a pseudo cap dump then I would be willing to factor that in slightly, but would rather just keep Myers it it meant not compromising.
That said I would do Horvat for Kulich + 1st...or If Myers is involved Horvat + Myers for Kulich + 2 2nds (one of which could be in the form of an unsigned Ryan Johnson)

Nah, he's the straw the stirs their drink. They wanted people who want to be there and he's one of the leaders of that crew so that'd be no.

I would be happy with a Horvat trade to Buffalo or Carolina. I think Carolina needs to try and get a top player at the TDL, they need to get over that hump and try to get to the Cup finals

I’m the furthest from a Myers fan, but he is not a negative, let alone a large one.
And the package from Buffalo was mediocre.
