I think I am one of the few who really has nothing bad to say about Gaborik other than the injuries.

Nothing but good memories of watching him play as a Ranger.

I had no major problems with Gaborik because I accepted him for the player he was. When he was going right he could score goals on his own without even needing any serious support from his linemates. I think he was derailed by injuries and Torts so I don't regret moving him. Nash is much more frustrating to watch right now because we expected a lot more from him.

AV has the perfect media loophole. Every time you want to go after something, say that "My friends told me that..."

Who was MSL playing with in TB when Stamkos was injured

MSL was playing with two rookies - Ondrej Palat (LW) and Johnson (C). There really shouldn't be any excuses on his performance. Both Ondrej and TJ (Johnson) are probably finalists for the Calder Cup...though MSL was carrying them. Now it looks like the other way around.

I don't disagree. People like the shiny new toy. Doesn't mean they're right.

I expect it out of the younger fans. Not the ones who lived through 98-04. There's a reason Dubinsky, Callahan, Girardi, Hank, McD, Staal have such are so loved by so many, myself included. Homegrown, hard workings players that wanted to succeed in NY, not just wanted to play in NY.

Panic? Rip it all down? Kill Sather? LOL.

Cmon, everything looks different when the puck doesn't go in.
Or when it does go in and Toronto squashes a goal.

I was actually encouraged for the most part by this game.
Rangers owned the 1st. easily generated the better chances against a supposed western power, and gave them very little.

They must have had 6-8 glorious chances this game; some guys are snake-bit right now (Brassard), others aren't elevating the puck, some (McD) trying to be too fine. Some (Nash, Zuc) arent at the top of their games. It happens.

1-2 more games and MSL should be sufficiently pissed enough to generate a points explosion that will help carry them the rest of the way - and into the playoffs. Chill....

One typically bad Garden ice bounce leads to a shorthanded goal against.

The inability to finish strikes again.

1-0 home loss in a game with any luck, they win 4-0.

If they continue playing like this they'll most likely miss the playoffs. They keep dropping spots, and are right on the precipice now. Detroit has 3 games in hand, they could go 1-1-1 and be tied with us in points.

"I find myself watching hockey playoffs before watching basketball playoff games."

"You'd watch the NHL playoffs over the NBA playoff games?" Kremer quizzically asked.

"Less commercials, more fun, much more action. Yeah."

Maybe we'll find out on Tuesday that Dolan hired Phil Jackson to replace Sather rather than run the Knicks. Could he be any worse? :sarcasm:

wow you're a little too optimistic brah....most people here probably think they will squeeze into the playoffs despite all the bad posts

but you need to take into account seeding...if we get one the wild card spots we play either boston or Pittsburgh and it's one and done....if they are to make the playoffs i'd like them to have a "chance" of playing a bit longer than that

AND THIS TOO BELOW

Stepan needs to be beaten over the head with a billy club.

Scratch that. It's St. Patty's Day tomorrow.

..Beat him over the head with a ****ing shillelagh. What was he ****ing thinking with that player sprawled out to the left and still insinuating on passing? This isn't his first season in the league; there is absolutely 0 reasons for that kind of crap.

I have been trying to be realistic with a breath of optimism, and not panic, but man, I just can't deal with Rick Nash. I have never seen a player like him before. He drives to the net and I get excited...and then he doesn't do it again. For multiple games. He needs to drive to the net with the puck. He draws penalties, creates chances. Watching him play right now is like watching a basketball player who can drive and draw fouls play a perimeter game all season.

St. Louis...God. It can't be any worse than this. Seven games with 0 goals and a few assists. Awful, awful.

I'm very disappointed with this team. They have more to give than this. So, so disappointed. They did play well today, but no more moral victories. We need freaking points.

Lets continue to mortgage the future for 38 year olds every year because we are a win now team! only thing stoppng us is we are running out of draft picks. Heres to all who loved that deal because this team was a Stanley cup contender as a bubble playoff team!

Goes without saying; if you draw a top 5 team in the entire league in the first round its a stiff challenge; but as to styles, I like how this team matches up with Pittsburgh (Fleury is a sieve), less so with Boston obviously, but we should have an edge in skill if everyone's going.

It's a well-balanced team like SJ, who crushed us early in the year, I look to see how they fare. And I thought the Rangers had a nice edge in play this game. They just didnt finish. Guys like Derek Stepan not shooting wide open don't help.

I don't know how anyone in that room respects Rick. He floats around every shift. It is so frustrating to watch him play. ZERO EXTRA GEAR. ZERO DRIVE.

Its amazing, but we might be better off with Dubi and AA than Nash. Really. I know the trade looked great on paper, loved it at the time.. despite being on record saying that I never really wanted him.

Wish we could see St. Louis and Nash together. They can't double team two players, one of them's going to get room. Just makes sense to me. Even if Nash is a RW by preference, he has succeeded on the LW before and anybody who can score in 10 straight games is going to play well on any side of the ice. I don't know why we haven't tried it yet.

Only the Rangers can take an Art Ross winner, a Richard winner, and a Conn Smythe winner, and have problems scoring goals.

Pretty sure we get at least a wild spot but like you said it would probably be one and done

I can't take posters who weren't even here when Prucha was calling people out for getting excited about a Rangers rookie scoring the way he did seriously.

They are always a lucky bounce away from a win, yet continue to disappoint for 74 years save one glorious spring in 1994. This is just another variation of how the Rangers will tear our hearts out again. The theme will be - if only they hadn't stopped the momentum with the fricken' olympics!

Agree. Think AV is about to as well. Those lines we had posted here earlier might be the only thing that makes sense.

Nash-MSL together, Kreider-Brass-Zuc.

He's got the fortitude of a marshmallow - the anti-Messier or Graves. Flashes the skill to get his points (and contract) but no will to go through a wall when needed.
