Can people save all these Leafs will lose in 7 scenarios after the playoffs. Bc you guys will have plenty of time, from the moment they lose in the playoffs till the start of next season to come out and say, I knew it, I told you so, I know they can’t do it…..
I know history is not kind to the current Leafs but for some here, myself included, we still have hope and just really don’t want to deal with all these negative stuff till it happens.
Comment on the game and all are fine but not something that hasn’t happen yet. If you guys really have that little faith or no faith in the boys, just comments on the main board bc there are plenty of people there who will agree with you, who will state you are amazing rational great Leafs fans who love trashing the Leafs as much as they do.
Just come back when the playoffs is over to give your comments.

Would it be fait to say Leafs have only played one good game in this series that being game 2?

It's only useful if you're trying to look for past performance to predict what could happen next game. Winning games you shouldn't is part of having success in the playoffs. The other way to look at it is Tampa gave us their best 3 straight games and could only win 1. They were a Mitch Marner post away from blowing yet another lead tonight.

Honesty I think TB played their worst today compared to the other two games. I really think they are out of gas.

I don't want to be too pessimistic but the Leafs have been outplayed soundly in this series.. the only reason it isn't over already is the hockey gods gifted us two wins.

I don't want to be too optimistic, but the last time we won a series in 2004, the Ottawa Senators skated circles around the Leafs. When we blew the series against Montreal, we put up dominant numbers in the o zone and couldn't get anything done late in series.

All this is to say you don't have to actually outplay a team to win a series and they don't take wins you already earned for style points. We're in a good position from a series perspective and just need to win one. Or go .500. It's all in their control.

I think the Leafs just need to play free and just throw bombs to start Game 6. Overshoot it like you're looking to win 6-0. Finish every check like you're making an investment and crash the net on every possession, don't be afraid to use what worked before with the lobbed point shot and screen. Don't save it for a third period rally.

The good news is we lose whether we dominate or not.

This isn't the team to take us anywhere and they're going to prove it to all of us yet again.

The boys were a bit more nervous than usual tonight. Honestly, I really don’t think they played a bad game beside Holl. They couldn’t get anything going but also didn’t allow odd man rushes to TB.
Like I said earlier, if Holl actually played proper position like all other NHL Dmen, the first goal will never happen and if the puck bounced the other way toward the net instead of toward the right pad of Vas after Vas left pad just got a piece of Willie shot in front of the net, the game would be 2-0 and TB will just fold.

That’s exactly what they should be doing. I really think when Keefe speaks to the boys, even though his tone might not be negative but his words might be a bit negative. I would just let ROR take over the locker room and talk to the boys.

Holl is really prone to those deadhead moments that become goals against.

This is random but if anyone lives in Toronto and you're above 19... down to watch the Saturday game? Maybe at a bar?

Few friends I have are Raptors fans who dislike the leafs. Don't mind watching alone at home but would be more fun with some fans.

I'd take you up on that offer, no problemo.....except I'm in BC.

I find Keefe's psychological game is a little one note in these moments. Don't think there's anything inherently good or bad about a coach being negative or positive, but how does he use both as tools to maximize the team at the right time? There's got to be a time to reassure the team, but you always seem master manipulators create the right amount of tension, stress and discomfort to carry the day.

If your group is pumped up and pissed off to start a game you're probably not going to be nervous, etc.

Yes, but then Keefe puts Holl on the ice and TB scores...that's a big problem...Holl is on the ice at double the goals against total (20) compared to the second guy at 10.

ZAR and Lafferty don't do anything. I'd put in Bunting and maybe Simmonds to bash someone's face in. Holl is struggling. If not Liljegren then at least try Connor Timmins for next game.

One of my rugby coaches in the past used to always say the same thing before any games, it goes something like, ‘You guys are f**king starting, see the guys around you, they f**king want take your spots, you owe it to f*** them to f*** smash the f*** out of the other team. Let’s f*** kill them in the first 20 mins, get the first f**king big hit in to set the tone, scare the f**k out of them…. It continues for another 3 mins while all at the same time, he smashed, bumped, slapped and punched everyone of us. By the time we are done, our chests are usually red, but we are all pissed and couldnt wait to smash and deliver pains to the opposing team.

I don’t see Keefe being able to achieve that.
