Hogwarts Legacy (February 10th, 2023) - Mod warning in OP

We’re not supposed to mention something the literal IGN review talks about for most of the video? I feel like a major publication alluding to the idea that you should boycott makes the subject fair game.

Never been a Harry Potter fan, but this looks pretty good.

I'm sick of seeing so many safe, predictable open world games like Far Cry or Horizon. The little I've seen of this one makes me optimistic that it won't be another Ubisoft clone.

The review sounded really promising. You can kick back and do nothing and enjoy exploring the world of Harry Potter and Hogwarts... and/or you can focus more on the story.

It sounds like this could be an even bigger hit than the pre-orders have made it.

Correct. There are plenty of other avenues to have that discussion and people here aren't mature enough to have said discussion without it turning into a political shit show... and politics aren't allowed.

Outside of all the "you shouldn't play it because Rowling" it sounds like they thought the actual game is good....which is what I care about. Haven't bought it yet, and I won't base my purchase off what IGN thinks regardless but I am cautiously optimistic about this one.

Yeah if this was gaming site, it may different. But this is a hockey site, hockey gets a bit more leeway, but there are still limits there.

Back on topic, but seeing a few of the people who have had earlier access and it's look pretty damn fine. It's not perfect but I really still want to keep my expectation tempered, but it is becoming so hard.

I'm still waiting for the bottom to fall out on this game, because everything seems to good to be true

You mean to tell me the mods haven't signed up for 24/7 365 operations to quell a video game thread on a hockey forum? Crazy.

Yep. Every review I have seen has been extremely positive and the level of detail seems to be insane.

Hogwarts Legacy: 9 Magical New Details

IGN article that doesn't mention she who will not be named. Only two weeks to go, or less if you sprung for the deluxe digital edition with 72 hour early access

Aside from use of the unforgivables, none that I am aware of, unless there is some kind of morality based apple mechanic for teachers desk lol
I thought I saw in a recent IGN video where the player was able to use unforgivables. it made it seem that they can be used no matter good or bad.

ahhhh ok. whats everyone planning on trying first? Think i might be a Dark Wizard to start
I'm looking at running a non blood obsessed Slytherin, happy to use any and all resource available to me with no qualms about using the unforgivable curses but if I can I do not want to be the agressor, so my aim is never to use magic against another person first, but if they do, I duel to win and if that means killing, so be it.

Am I the only one who thinks it's weird that the game world won't react more negatively to you use Unforgivable Curses?

Unforgivable Curses are so named for a reason.....and that reason is apparently nobody cares.
