I really hope Bedard signs with Upper deck. It sucks when they don’t amd you cannot get any autographed cards etc .
I am not 100% certain how it works , but i think he has to agree with the NHLPA and or NHL to use his likeness or im not sure if they can even use his picture wearing a teams jersey for their cards? Nico Hischier , Eichel l didn’t sign originally with Upper Deck so in the first year of their rookie cards , Upper Deck did not have any of their cards autographed . I’ve seen some other sports where they cannot use teams logos / jerseys I’m the players pictures . Not sure if that is a licensingagreememt with the league and Upper Deck or if it can be specifically with
just the athlete ?? I’m not sure but hope it’s all figured out so Upper deck has Bedards rookies like normal .

It would be better if bedard signs w fanatics. Fanatics has cheaper and often very good signed collectibles and their players still can sign cards for upper deck and their affiliates. I would assume that each deal is unique tho.

Gut feeling though is upper deck will sign him to exclusive deal.

Anyone trust SportsAuthentix?

Seems to have quite a few of signed memorabilia, but seems to be newer to me

I have heard from a few people its legit including the hockey guy on youtube. They have a few signings too including marty st louis in February.

The ability to show team logos is an NHL licensing thing. The player has no say. Brands like UD pay for it, so they can use the logos. brands like 'Classic', or the current 'Leaf' hockey, do not, and so the logos are blanked out.

For autographs, the player has to agree to sign.

How does this process actually work? Can you send them any card you will? Or do they have some rules, what will they grade, what not?
You can send any card, but make sure you submit it under the correct circumstances.

Oversized/regular/older/undersized.

I sent a bunch of cards to Mint (Canadian) and they graded my cards, except for my 1950s cards. Got a message back saying I needed to submit them in the proper format, but I wouldn't be charged, as I had paid for them to be graded as a regular card.

Had no idea there was a size difference

I sent in the Bedard WHL rookie and PSA sent it back saying "No Checklist Info" and didn't charge me (they are grading those now though).

SGC will be fast to get your cards back (1 week in the US). PSA is cheaper and holds more value in the market but takes longer (~4 weeks in the US).

Just did my first ever card submission and i went with BGS because they are local to me (and their slabs are the best looking). Im nervous because 3 of the cards are worthless even graded at 10 and i doubt these will hit very high and then the others i just know BGS is the harshest graders.

I saw that. I have to admit I am not familiar with these companies. I've only used PSA and Beckett. Are they any good? That's actually huge.

The only thing is it will suck if you get an e-pack card, transfer it, then get a poor grade on surface and corners without ever having touched it.
CSG/CGC is newer to sports grading, they haven't picked up much steam. This COMC move might help. They have been grading comics and coins for years though. Definitely legit.

SGC and PSA are the only 2 I've used personally.

Beckett or BGS
SCG
PSA
CSG

All legit grading companies. Its all about whos most popular and from what ive seen is PSA seems to be favorable and beckett next in line. While CSG and SGC are certainly legit for some reason it seems as though some collectors arent familiar with them or dont trust them.
Personally im flabbergasted that CSG hasnt gained much steam, they are dick rode hard in the comic book community. For some reason people treat them like theyre the only quality grading company yet they seem to vary in their comic grading and look to be more lax in grading vs their competition CBCS (BGS)

Ill personally also buy MNT or KGA but on non valuable cards. I prefer other graders but for the right price ill buy them.

Yeah they are about to see a huge increase. It makes things SO convenient. It'll boost e-pack, too. The only reason I don't get more cards graded is because I hate doing the forms and whatnot, and the fear of losing a good card. I have an Ovy SP Authentic Rookie Authentics auto /249 that I have been wanting to send in, but I am scared it'll get wrecked in transport or something.

I'd put PSA at the top, I think. I used to sell on ebay and 75% of my best graded sales were PSA. I personally don't like the look, but they were the most trusted up until maybe the last few years where everything went nuts during COVID.

Two weekends ago I received a padded mailer from UD. Opened it to find a Tage Thompson Artifacts 2017-18 rookie auto 142/150. A redemption I forgot about because I "redeemed" years ago. Won all my hockey bets in Vegas that weekend. It was a lucky week.

Sounds like a nice card to be receiving especially now compared to when you redeemed it. Since im new to the card game i cant fathom the idea of redemption cards, what a terrible idea.

I also absolutely think PSA slabs look terrible. They look like they were designed by a first grader. Beckett slabs are the absolute best looking IMO but i only own 1 slab. I own a lot of PSAs because they are popular but i would trade for BGS in an instant if i ever found the same cards/grade

That’s one of his best auto cards IMO. Not many others have the Mr. Hockey inscription added in there.

I’ve got a couple of nice on-card Gretzky autos, a Lemieux, and an Orr. Used to own a couple of Howe’s over the years but sold them long ago like an idiot. I need to get one back to complete my Mount Rushmore with the other guys. Prices have obviously gone up over recent years now that he’s no longer with us and his supply of autos is finite.

I really like the canvas cards. This is one of my favorites and i want 1 in a slabbed 10. Really like the photo from the shirts off our backs that happens in the last home game every year.

That would be awful! lol

And yeah, it should juice e-pack... I wish their prices were a bit closer to the cost of the physical products though. I feel like they're leaving a ton of money on the table by having such a premium on the cards they list. Maybe they make it all back from people seeking instant Amazon Prime-esque dopamine hits (which I've been guilty of once or twice).

The prices have gotten jarring on E-Pack. I find that if you put the time in, you can always come out ahead though. You can trade worthless cards up to valuable cards. Takes a fair bit of time and effort to do that though. I bought two boxes and 5 loose packs this year. If they were 30% cheaper, I'd probably buy more.

I've heard that but never played around with trading much on there. Any tips?
