I thought the NHLPA didn't allow that?
With Covid, exceptions were made for last year’s rookie card eligibility. Players who were on the taxi squad at any point (up to a cutoff date) qualified to have rookie cards. In a way, this could be compared to the rule for goalies, which is as long as they dress, they are eligible for rookie cards regardless of whether they play or backup.

Went to Tim Hortons. Bought an iced capp and a pack of cards. Pulled a Gretzky Tribute card. No idea of worth. Checked eBay...next thing I knew, had 400 bux lol
Going to sell? I was reading somewhere that Tim's cards were red hot right now by default being the only hockey product on the market.

Crazy everything is being pushed back by upper deck. Looks like some 20-21 products will be out after this season

Had my five case order of UDS1 refunded.

Not a good look. Starting to think UD knew they were running out of money last year when they milked a horrible third series of YG’s. Online dealers are still taking pre sell orders and after seeing what’s happened I wouldn’t ever trust those dealers moving forward when it’s 50/50 the sets even going to come out any time soon.

Watched the YG market die completely. Better buying in group discords then on eBay. eBay is the worst location to buy sports cards, bar none.

Still saying junk wax era high grade is the way to go for making money. Too many people got into cards during the pandemic and are now eating losses or just giving away cards right now. All the hobby vets knew this was going to happen. Been buying out all the hobby stores entire graded portfolios from all the pop ups that sprung up by the get rich schemers who had no clue how the hobby works for Pennie’s on the dollar.

Tip- 90’s NBA chrome refractors.

I don't think UD is broke. They genuinely had supply chain issues. The ports are totally backed up. Manufacturing in Asia is very difficult.

YG market dead? I sold off two McDavid YGs this summer, and both are going for double what I sold them for now. I'm still selling YGs of 2nd line players graded PSA 10 for around $100 each. Those were going for $30-40 before the surge. Guys like Makar are going for $700. Those were going for $100 before the surge.

Makar just sold for 800 as a YG and YGC pair. They’re selling for around 5/600 bucks and we’re selling for more a few months ago and I don’t recall Makar 10’s selling for a Hundo.

I’d stay away from McDavid YG’s just on the sheer amount of 10’s that are out there. 2100 10’s is a lot for a hockey player not counting how many BGS 9.5’s their are.

Going through my early 90s cards which I thought weren't valuable I had no idea they jumped up so much. 1990 OPC Premier I have three sets. Non graded I don't know if it worth grading them or selling them ungraded. I have a full set in a album and the rest loose. The loose ones are warped though. Will they effect the value or grade of them?

They will.

Id still get the Jagrs graded and cross my fingers tho.

Considering there’s almost 3k psa 10’s to 2100 psa 10 YG’s of McDavid, Jagrs will appreciate.

It’s a stacked set but I really don’t think anything else moves the needle right now.

Maybe in another 20 years. But, I can see the Jagrs surpassing the McDavid YG. Everything numbered tho isn’t going to happen.

Makes me feel slightly better. Also, the day after I sold the only two Connors I had I was able to pull one from the last blaster box at the Wal-Mart by my house. You know back in the day when you could walk in and get a UD Series 1 blaster.
Are you in Canada? Because here there’s still series one blasters from a restock on the shelves along with a ton of the final, final, no we really mean it extended series.

I really wish 22 series one would finally come out so that extended series crap just dries out. Blasters have increased dramatically in price, with Walmarts charging 28 bucks right now and around 35 for impact basketball sets. The days of the discount 9.99 blasters have come to an end.

I liked retail because it was a cheap, fun rip. Now, you are better off just buying hobby and paying the extra money for a better shot at a decent hit. Card shops have popped up dramatically these last few months and sure enough, their wax inventory are marked up retail blasters they woke up early in the morning to buy off the shelves. Wouldn’t have a problem with it if they wernt buying everything and leaving nothing for nobody else.

Well… they leave hockey and Topps baseball

Sold one of my YG Drai's for 1200 on Feebay. I needed the money to buy a comic lol
At least I have another one, because I forgot I already had one when I made another purchase.

40 dollars well worth it.

By the time SPA & The Cup drops, the Laff FWA/RPA will be worth 1/2 as much as it would have been had it launched on schedule.

I'm seeing the prices on S1/S2 at online retailers come down in price. Zephyr Epic has extended blasters for $16-17 each. My guess is a lot of the retailers were hording the S1/S2 and are now unloaded it, as the Laf hype has died down.

It's definitely annoying that people are buying up all the products at physical retailers though. Went into Walmart, and they said a bunch of guys will follow the restockers around when they put up new product and buy it all. In Canada, the retail is handled by outside companies who have deals with retailers, where they get shelf space, but the Walmarts/London Drugs, etc..., don't actually sell/stock the products themselves. So you can learn the schedules of the restockers and take advantage. A lot of people were hording for the purpose of reselling. I hope they get stuck with a bunch of the product and take a loss.

Pretty lucky! Been buying those and//or McDonald's for years (not in any great quantity) and have not once hit on anything outside basic inserts/subsets.
