I feel like a contract similar to Bunting's would be the best low risk, moderate term to give Ho-Sang a bit of runway and the Leafs a little flexibility.

I doubt anything more than one year, and league minimum is necessary. I don't think he's shown enough to warrant a two year deal, though having said that, if you can bury the contract, it isn't that big of a deal.
Agree with Fogel here. If Ho-Sang is getting a contract, it's 1 year at league minimum. Nothing higher and nothing longer.
The thinking isn't to reward him for 2 weeks showing in camp but to give him something with a bit of runway to protect the Leafs. So if he rips off 20 goals and 40 points unexpectedly in a best case scenario, we won't have the problem of having to cut bait and be back at square one in September 2022 on another roll of the dice. If he flames out, MLSE won't be sweating the extra $900,000.
Think Jack Campbell. He came in 2019-20 and they have him a 2 year deal after 6 good games, but he established himself in 2021 and we still have him cheap for 2022.
Heck, give him a 3 year entry level equivalent deal.
Give him a two-way deal at around $100k-$120k in the minors and force him to force the team to keep him in the NHL.
If Hosang earns a deal, its 1 yr deal at most right now. Hosang needs to prove he doesnt mess up for 82 games to earn an extension beyond this year. A 3 yr commitment right now is too much.
There is zero chance a 3 year deal is signed. At most it’ll be 2 years but more likely to be 1 if signed.a 3 year two-way deal would provide stability for both.

I agree that Ho-Sang most likely starts with the Marlies, but disagree on Engvall. I actually think if we waived Engvall he almost certainly clears. That said, are you allowed to waive injured players? Maybe at the season start you can but not mid season?
Do you know him personally? Where do you get this?
like all the other players the Leafs have waived and have been picked up, Engvall too will be picked up.
Has he even offered a contract yet? He'll get league minium one year contract, or that's what he should
His play in pre-season means nothing to me. Brandon Bochenshki used to own every Pre-season, only to suck at regular season
Suglabov looked like a superstar in one preseason, never became an NHLer
He can play, there was never any doubt. Problem with this boy that he's a boy. There are some growing up to do with this kid
engvall is like 500k overpaid compared to players of equal or greater contributions/impact, so I’m not convinced
We’ll see. All that can be certain is that Ho-Sang will definitely be something. He hasn’t played a minute in the NHL and 26 teams thought better of taking him on draft day (Vancouver passed twice) last summer, but he’s still one of the league’s most talked-about prospects, not only for his breathtaking play on the ice, but for his hubris off of it. He’s called out Hockey Canada, saying he’s insulted at his exclusion from various national teams over the past two years. He’s said that the governing body is afraid to invite him to development camps because he’ll play so well that they’ll have no choice but to put him on national teams. He’s said that he’ll be the best player in his draft class within the next three years, better than each of the 27 taken ahead of him. He’s caused quite a bit of commotion.

For all his talk. He hasn't done jack. He goes onto saying he'll be the best player in the draft in 3 years. Well bud, it's been 6+ years and he can't land a NHL Job
A draft that included Draisatl, Nylander, Ekblad, Ehlers and Psta
I am all up for confidence but there's a fine line between confidence and dellusion
People will say that I am picking on him. Well, the thing he kinda brought it up on himself

Wasn't it Brandon Kozun one year too that looked like a star in preseason?Has he even offered a contract yet? He'll get league minium one year contract, or that's what he should
