Props to Money Baer for the lucky GDT, and to Steven for christening it with the lucky horse, I have a feeling that won't be the last we see of him now.. :sarcasm:

So... 2 pts back for 1st in the West??

Awesome game, but I thought Gaudreau had a really off night. He has been playing way more than he's used to; it might be a case of him starting to get tired.

The one thing I will say is that he's usually most noticeable on the PP, and we haven't been drawing many penalties lately.

Hughson has become extra terrible ever since the Canucks choked in the cup final.

Good win.

Not a fan of Hartley constantly shortening the bench in the third. Reinhart with less than 7 minutes of ice time. Baertschi under 11.

I dunno, last year I was critical of his decisions, but this year he is putting on a clinic on how to win games. IMO.

Fantastic game. I'm getting more and more impressed with Jooris as the season goes on. He's brilliant going both ways and good to see Hartley trust him to take defensive draws. I also liked Sven's game tonight, he made some important backchecks and looked to have some quick feet. What a game by the young guns, I can sleep happy! :)

Anyone else miss HNIC doing the afterhours segment? Was always a fan of that

jesus christ, you are alive!

or so it would seem

but seriously it's amazing what Hartley has done along with Burke and Treliving and Conroy even. Eveyr player buys into this system of hard work. With 3 of our 4 centres injured, 2 of the replacements had really nice nights and scored. Reinhart barely played but Jooris and Granlund were fast and always on the puck

I don't know I'd go so far as to say he looked terrible, but I would say he's not been playing up to his standards. I would sit him next game, not as a punishment but to rest him as you say. And yeah, to motivate him a little. He came back and played really well the last time he was sat and I think the same would happen if Hartley did it again. He may need to be sit out a few games this year, NBD.

How can you send down Granlund or Jooris? There's just no way IMO. Also, if Sven keeps this up, how can you send down him? Sven was a big reason for our win tonight and one of our best players. Minus Smid and Engelland, I thought everyone played quite well, but I'm so damn happy for Baertschi. Granlund has been amazing, but Sven is capable of playing on another level. He needs to keep pushing it, do what he's doing and find his confidence. Again, if Baertschi keeps playing like this, there's no way I'm sending him down.

Great job boys, I'm stunned at how well our guys are playing!

Anyone else feel that Bouma's really taken a step forward this season? His offensive game seems to really be coming around. Don't look now, but he's on pace for 23 goals and 41 points! :amazed:

Man... I think you must hate to be Treliving right now. Some hard, hard decisions coming.

No kidding. How do you send Granny down when he's already got 6 points through 8 games?

Another huge positive, Jooris went 78% in the dot tonight! Just so many things going right with this team right now. Hard to keep realistic expectations in check when we've got some many guys doing so many great things right now. Even Sven is looking way better despite the limited ice time.

It's gunna be really interesting to see how this team matches up against the stronger Western Conference teams over the next few weeks.

I think the easiest thing to do for now is send down Ferland and Setoguchi down. It's unfortunate we didn't get to see any other games from Ferland with the hit to the head, but lets let him find his groove back where he'll get some good minutes in Adirondack. As for Setoguchi, he's been given many chances and has been outplayed by Jooris, Granlund and even Baertschi now. Put him on waivers, send him to Addy as well. If we need a third spot to keep Baertschi, I wouldn't be surprised to send down McGrattan as well. So, the lines thus far:

Glencross - Monahan - Jones
Gaudreau - Granlund - Hudler
Baertschi - Jooris - Byron
Raymond - Backlund - Colborne
Bouma - Bollig

Obviously Bouma/Bollig won't be scratched as much, but I am just showing at how great in depth our team is in. Will the lines I put up, you can roll out all 4. And I didn't even mention Stajan's return either. Good luck Treliving.
