Well I've said before I'd love nothing more than for Setoguchi to pot 20 goals and turn his career around here. that said, when giving an analysis of the team and lines and things like that I try to just give my honest take. I think part of the problem is people expected him to be a scoring forward and he quite clearly isn't anymore.
He has been getting **** on since the signing though. Alot of people refused to give him a chance. I know you aren't the problem, but it's boiling over and I am just so tired of it.

WHen it comes to that line, I don't think ability has anything to do with the change in success, style of play does. Sven and Byron rely on their speed, where as Seto doesn't. He plays a slower game and is more successful when there is cycling and pressure in the offensive zone, but Sven and Byron have a ton of success on the rush. Jooris simply fits that so much better. Setoguchi would be much more successful playing with Stajan, Hudler, Colborne and even Monahan than with who he has been playing with.

It's unfortunate because I feel like Smid and Engelland have had a pretty solid season thus far but that last 3 or so games have been rough for them.
I feel like Smid is playing hurt. He has been struggling since those 2 games where he appeared to be injured.

They highlighted Jooris's contribution during the intermission. Wins the puck close to the boards but doesn't just get it out - gets his head up and passes it to Baertschi.

It's very debatable whether Byron would have done the same thing Jooris did. It's incredibly unlikely Setoguchi would have done the same thing Byron did as a winger, since he's obviously not as fast.

I agree with you and Anglesmith, Jooris does a lot of good things and I really hope it's not coming across that I'm taking anything away from him. He contributes in a lot of different areas and does a ton for that line. My main points are that Sven is capable of creating offence out of nothing and he's been doing just that the last 2 games.

Look, the last thing I'll say is that I fully agree that having Jooris at center and Byron at wing has been an upgrade and helped that line. I also think that Hartley showing Sven some tough love has pushed Sven to play better. He's playing his game, he's finding open spaces, creating offence and using his play making ability, those are things that he's doing on his own that was not visible to me in his first 2 games this year.

Well as you said earlier having Jooris as the Center has been a big help and I'd classify that under ability. I think you're right that the three of them all do fit that mould for a speedy game.

A Seto - Stajan - Raymond line could be quite successful in my opinion.
