I may have to look into Echos of Wisdom, that was one I dismissed pretty immediately as not being interested. I tried Link’s Awakening and couldn’t get into it, so I was thinking Echos of Wisdom wouldn’t work for me either. But if it’s good it could be worth looking into.
Depends what you don't like about Links Awakening. Same art style exactly, but the style of gameplay is pretty different. Echos is more open and more problem solving with different tools available where LA was very straightforward "go the right way to get the right item to get past the next obstacle" style of old school zelda. Not to say you don't also have that in Echos, it's still a Zelda game. But it's definitely a twist on the Zelda formula gameplay-wise.

I just bought Metroid Prime Reloaded and I think that’s going to be my next switch game.
I haven't played the remaster, but Metroid Prime is a great game.

It's probably the best game Nintendo has ever made outside of the Zelda series.

I'd agree it's their best 3D game outside of the Zelda series. Super Metroid is my shit though.

Finished reading Anna Karenina a few hours ago. 42 reading days to complete but I slowed down at some point because I hate finishing a good book and leaving the world.

Thats the third russian author I've read now, Dostoyevski, Bulgakov and Tolstoy.
All three are excellent in their own beautiful way, but I have to say, and it isn't a simple choice, but The Brothers Karamozov is my favorite so far.
Think I'm going with The Idiot next.... (not counting the massive Discworld books I read... some I blaze through so fast and they are barely 'book' size imo. I'll celebrate each of the series completed -roughly 8 books each- or after the franchise completion =]

Yeah it wasn’t the art style with links awakening, it was the gameplay that I wasn’t a fan of. Felt very repetitive and slow. If Echos is a more open game I think that would be a much better fit.

Bought Longlegs for less than $2. Worth it.

I read that it was a spiritual successor to Silence of the Lambs. It isn't. But I liked it.

Spoilers? Minor though.

There's some supernatural stuff to the movie
I wasn't a fan, it's not a spoiler to say there's a supernatural element to it mate, it's literally in the description tags on imdb. I thought Cage was going to be in it more, felt he was great in his role, but yeah...the supernatural element of the story derailed it for me. Because there's a big element of it. It's what ruined the movie for me. Felt like how the show Sugar had the dumb reveal, ruined the entire show.

Perkins does have a lot of talent in that genre, I hope his next movie hits for me. I really wanted to like Longlegs, the trailer had me super pumped to see it, damn it. There's been so many shit horror/thrillers, I give up hoping for a good one. I don't even know if the new Salems Lot is worth it. Stephen King is ass, he has great ideas, his books are 50% amazing, 50% what the f*** were you thinking with that second half bullshit. But I've heard good things about Salems Lot.

remember that aside from graphics, the whole game design of Links Awakening is from gameboy in 1993

Echoes is well en route to be about the 10th Zelda game that I abandon around 5 hours in; completely unable to understand the appeal.

I mean it's a billion times better than Ocarina, but what game isn't? Donkey Kong 64? Correct.

What did I just read?

Im not as big of an oot is the best game ever as most our age but man this is something. I can get it I guess if you care about characters and story or combat mechanics . Zelda games are basically adventure puzzle games with action puzzle boss fights. I’m a big fan but they aren’t my favorite Nintendo games. I’d rather Metroid get the same love.

Does anyone get an error saying "Header too large" sometimes? Can't view the site on my tablet
I get an error when I try to post an image, yet I can do it anyways by using the old HTML code bs. This site is shit a lot. On my Macbook it'll take me to a full page of "please disable your adblocker" and I laugh like yeah, eat shit that ain't happening.

Or the times the page will reload because it's live and erase your entire post you were typing.

Aliens Romulus was ok. I didn't feel like I cared about any of the cast if they died, like I felt like I was rooting for the Xenomorphs in this one.

I'll just never understand the appeal of the most 'made for me' thing that exists and it f***ing frustrates me.

One cool thing of not seeing the alien movies until later in life is that I went in planning to only watch the first two and never going beyond that. It’s worked well

It sounds like you’re just broken. Hate to see it.

I feel the same about dark souls and elder scrolls. These look like what I want on paper but I don’t like them.

Video games, I mean the Zelda ones I like the older ones on Nintendo and super nintendo, after that I've never been able to get into them and more power to those that do.

I can't get into 99% of the titles you lot mention and I'm a gamer as well, lately the new call of duty 6 campaign has been fun, it's been a while since a fps didn't have a shit campaign, I'm at this zombie part of the campaign and I'm playing on the normal difficulty and getting my ass handed to me, mostly because of some lone wolf shit I am used to with Gears and Halo, haha.

The first two are fine. Better than decent movies. The reboot movies of Prometheus and Covenant were good too, Prometheus being the much better one of the two, Covenant was meh.

But Romulus? A bunch of brats in space, you hope they all get killed because they're so annoying.

Alien 3 "Director's cut" is the one you have to watch. Way better than what was originally released.

But Aliens was the best of them all. Yes, even better than the original.

Alien 3 is great and Resurrection is fun.

The other ones are okay and worth watching tbh.
That is genuinely the first time I’ve heard someone say alien 3 is even good let alone great, and I think that may include Fincher himself. Not saying you’re wrong just surprised to hear it. I’ve agreed with your other recent movie takes I think. Maybe someday I’ll get to them but there are a million movies ahead of them on my watchlist.

I’d buy that on 3, maybe some day.

I’m with you on Aliens too. Not necessarily “better” but I’m much more likely to want to watch it. It’s just more my style of movie.

I prefer the 2D ones; Link Between Worlds on 3DS was great.

I like a good FPS campaign but haven’t ever had an x-box, feels like that was where all the best have been in the last 10-15 years. I should get the halo collection on steam, I’ve only played the first.
