Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Okay, I finished reading it last night. What a fun, quick moving book. I have a few questions about the logistics of everything but that's a given with the topic.
I've just looked at the show's casting. Can't say I agree with Joel Edgerton or Jennifer Connelly but the others seem to match their book character. I picture Jason way nerdier and slightly younger. That can be changed given wardrobe, acting, etc. And you've covered Connelly.
Recursion is on the list since my brother gave me three books to read. That, Dark Matter, and The Postmortal. I've read DM and TP already this year. And my parents also bought me three books for Xmas but I've only read one of those so far (The Library at Mount Char).
TLaMC was interesting. People online repeatedly called it weird and strange but I didn't find it that odd. Was another fun read though.
I am, again, trying to read Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino but it just isn't clicking with me.

Or, should I be more precise, anyone hunting the 4080 Super Illusive?
I'm not in a compulsive state for any component on my new pc - still saving.
But I know how ridiculous gpu's are today, being not solely for gaming, n'all that crap.
So. I see them pop-up now and then.... yes I play the game.... I see it, momentarilly, almost as if... maybe it isn't real! Then, I hesitate. 'Do I want that fan and clock speed!?' 'Or do I want to wait for that one! That is the good one~!' 'NO! I have to take what I can get~!~!~!' 'Hurry-Buy....'
Then, boof! Gone. Feels like duck hunting.
This is getting old quickly and I will just get a crappy 4070 ti super duper oc max and save the gosh dang it headache.

Supers were not great value, except the 4070 Super.
Best value is the 7800XT. I know you dont want to go AMD though

Supers were not great value, except the 4070 Super.
Best value is the 7800XT. I know you dont want to go AMD though

OH.... the gpu. I gave up on the 4080 super because it's a joke fighting disappearing and reappearing backorders. 4070 ti super is a bit pricey to not just get the 4080 super , which leads one into the maddening loop cycle of chasing one, so I'm going 4070 super which as you know, is best value with decent enough performance.
So I will be top end cpu m/b on up ready for a gpu upgrade in the 50 or 60 cycles without breaking bank on a gpu now. DONE.
Took me literally dozens and dozens of hours lining up measurments on heatsinks and cases and all the rest of it, back and forth between amd and intel and gpu's it makes one crazy.
So I am officially DONE. Ordering tomorrow.

Man... the m.2 drive OF COURSE is coming from some shack in china (not really) but everything, evvvvvvverything comes together in a day or two on free and the m.2 says 21-24 feb or something ridiculous.
Silly wd_black.... so popular why aren't they much much closer.
I just realized all I have is a windows 7 cd and this new computer has no cd/dvd (my first pc to ever leave the media behind like a vcr).
Went with a 120mm cube aio for some odd reason instead of a digital heat sink (with temp on top). I've been bold this build.
Everything coming in just about 2,020 d'$ for comeplete build, no m/k/b, no extra hdd storage (yet).... it was a weird hurry buy kind of deal. The 7800x3d and aio and m/b were all on sale, I saved like 150$.
Now I'm going to have to create a usb windows installation media.... I hope my windows 7 key gets me windows 10 fresh install (since I'm using w10 now anywho)....
I shied away from intel and moved to amd cpu... aio heatsink.... white everything build... going to loooooooook siiiiiiiiiiiiiiick =]]]]
annnnnnd champions league tomorrow...
sorry, rambling. worked 12-8a on 2 hours sleep yesterday and haven't slept yet and having coffee now :woa

You added about .33MS of latency time with your video card. Unacceptable. 
Nicely done. I like the LCD on the CPU heatsink, I have one on mine as well. My case isnt anything special, same one Ive had for about 10 years. Wanting to upgrade, cant find one I like thats not over $600.

Yeah... pc building can always be done cheap, semi-pricey, and wildly expensive....You added about .33MS of latency time with your video card. Unacceptable.

I thought about reusing my cooler master horizontal case, but it is so filthy and falling apart, took a lot of beatings and transportings. More durable. Went flashy with the new one and I plan to keep it for a long while, even swap out.
I figured go 4070 super for performance and price. Didn't spend so much I feel dumb and am stuck with it and disappointed. Still sellable in the future, and leaves me a 60 series upgrade three or so years + away and will / should be plenty oomph to perform fine until then.

Video cards this gen were garbage. Needed an upgrade on my Vega 64 or I would have skipped it. Wanted a 6950xt but I found my 7900xtx on sale during prime days on Amazon. Only reason I got one.

man reading all of this just makes me happy that I've fallen way behind new games and become a laptop guy. I got my mid-range ~$1000 laptop in 2020 and have yet to find a game I want to play but can't. Sure it's lower graphics and more expensive for similar power, but boy is it simple

With gaming we all know you buy a top gpu, you get great graphics one year, then less and less great every year until you must upgrade. Start in the middle, you have less time on that card. 2020 so you are well good. I have a 4770k haswell from 2010 !!!!! gpu is modern but it is lowly to begin and if it wasn't it'd bottleneck with my .... cpu/mem/ssd, this is all 10 year old stuff (and it still games kind of decent!) but it seen it's day and is time for an upgrade. If you have the willpower to be content n sated with decent graphics / quality for decent cost, good on ya. I will admit, my eyes get bigger and bigger when looking at this cpu/gpu stuff looking for the best possible one for my need. (plus i know i am stuck with it (mostly) for the next 5-10 año's)

This. Except for the 4090. Which is so outrageously priced only, what.... 5% of gamers will ever spend 2,000$ ON THE GPU ALONE!?
The numbers by the 4090 are insane, but regular gamers aren't paying 2k.
It actually came down to 1700$ --when I was looking to buy a 4080super for 1100-- and I was tempted for a second, really really tempted.... it's a sickness
or a weakness.... or greed or consumerism.... or all of them... or something else and all of them.Do you do ray tracing? or just game without it?

Don't you hate when sellers say something you buy will take 10-14 days, even when it is very little and could be sent with regular letter mail?
My m.2 wd_black nvme said it would take 2 weeks to get here, but if I pay 20 for shipping or 45 for shipping it can get here THE SOONEST ON FRIDAY, 16 FEB. Well, daddy don't play that shipping game... so I did free, unless it is something important.
So it said 21-24 delivery and shipping 14-15 Feb. Now it updates and says sent/in transit/ arriving 16 Feb.
All when I realized local stores have wd black m2 ssd's, silly silly me~~! I get tunnel vision when building computers man...
But the point of me posting this... that is kind of sleazy sales / shipping tactics, no? People DO pay crazy for shipping to avoid two week snags, and it may have been coming early the whole time....
I know it is not applicable to every little thing that ships, but ssd's sdcards etc are so small.....

Much has happened, long short of it, I got that doppler doing the murders, got the axe from raphael (he ded)... and skipping everything else because this is just wildly insane how much time any of it takes at this point.... so skipping the under wrym prison quest skipping the stone lord quest, just point me towards the end of the dang game so I can move on!!! How far you'd say I am from straight ending main quest. I still need to get the third boss... orin.

Not very far if you just go after the other two main bads. You max level? 12 I think. I was max for about half of act 3 I bet.

Interesting choice for an m2.
I have mucked around with ray tracing very little. My card can push it out fine with my 2k monitor. But I find the games I play the experience is increased minimally.
Also in Canada, you are paying around $2700 for an 4090, which happens to be twice the amount I paid for my Sapphire 7900xtx. I was hoping they would of released a Toxic this generation. Sadly they didnt.
I haven’t built a gaming PC in 15yrs, I don’t even know where I would begin anymore but I do know more stuff is plug and play than it was back then, back then if you got the wrong part, your whole day was ruined and you had to figure out a way to find what was the right fit or change the motherboard or processor or blah blah.

Hit 12 I think right after the coronation before heading into the first big city, above the lower parts with the circus. I already got the other two, fairly quick succession too. Orin is the illusive one.
wd_black sn850x is interesting choice for m2? I thought it was the norm???
I'm glad I went with a pcie 4.0 board, gigabyte b650 aorus elite, outside 1 pcie 5 for the m2 drive, but the other two m2's will only be pcie 4...
I don't get the gimmick for pcie 5 when nothing really uses it gaming wise. And you will pay dearly for pcie 5 slots.
