So... why can I not go to UPS warehouse and pick up my delivery, which is 10 minute's away and be done with it? Why do they not deliver on saturday? I don't work for amazon so I don't really care, but if I ordered from them they'd be delivering on saturday. It wouldn't have even gotten to the weekend in the first place. UPS going to lose the game eventually by someone who will delivery 7 days a week.

OH... by the books... I liked the colour (or color whatever) of magic so much I picked up #2 rincewind the light fantastic, -- and they had MORT so I picked that up (been looking forward to and saving the mort/death series (heard it's great -- loved him myself))
They are a simple read, complex enough with all the make believe-ery stuff and humor and it just hits a nice sweet spot for reading. Plus there are 40 or so of them.... so one just won't leave me done with it and wishing there was more books on it/him/them/world/etc...
So unfortunate for Tolstoy I will have to postpone (until the summer at most) anna karenina....

Started wedding planning and emailing venues. Should be so much fun.
nub'sy finally taking the plunge into the world of life connected 24/7/365/eternity.
I can't even remember what being single was like after 10+ years married.
Don't even get me started with having kids.... it's similar to marriage with the eternal pact, but you are in complete charge of the life. It changes you.... inside, outside..... indescribably....
Anyway, CONGRATS.... welcome.... 'one of us'.... enjoy! :thumbu:

I feel like that bloke went back to the land down under. Where beer does flow and men chunder.

He might still be heart broken about Dominik Simon.
There is a cyclone, falling apart, but... it is heading to aussie lands.
I don't get how anyone can live in that unfathomable heat, which is more inland... but still... HOT!🔥☀️🔥

The kittens we adopted are finally here at home with us. Just some orange cats with minimal brain cells. But they're hella cute:

When you’re a bloke that is a die hard fan of Dominik Simon, things we can not comprehend as enjoyable, are everything to those types.

Been on a movie kick this weekend. Here are a couple reviews of new ones that just came out:

Iron Claw 8.2/10 - sad and will make you feel things. Pretty good acting from Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White. My only complaint is that the pacing was a little off and the time jumps were a tough to keep track of.

I.S.S. 5.3/10 - disappointing. Very cool concept but they really missed on the execution. The movie got pretty unbelievable towards the end, borderline silly. I had a little buyers remorse in renting this one.

Next up, Napoleon…

Speaking of old members that don't post anymore - I wish we did have Kirk and Tom Hanks back even if they just posted in the off topic thread here.

I know @Tom Hanks had some injuries (head injuries I think work or an accident) that he had been dealing with that he mentioned here and it was a lot of stress for the lad as well as the toll it was taking on him, was a fun bloke to banter with and I hope he's doing great.

Kirk - Mate if you're lurking, I hope your Dog is still hanging on and enjoying life and you're going to fun places given your work allows that sort of thing.

I remember that episode by Dark Side of The Ring. The only wrestling thing I watch since WWE is trash (I stopped enjoying that shit mid to late 90's and even that was too long to quit).

But that show is fantastic. That episode about the Von Erich's, tragic. It doesn't hold back info as much as the movie did. It's Season 1, Episode 4. I'd say check it out soon since the movie is fresh.

I started Napoleon last night. I couldn’t finish it. I’m gonna give it another try this afternoon. If I were to give it a score it would be sub 5/10.

watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood finally. Liked it a lot. Tarentino's best in a while I'd say.

We also watched Dumb Money. Solid little movie for what it is. Watched it while cleaning and that felt just fine.
Similar to crime-y films... been watching Fargo... honestly outside of season 1 the show is kind of meh. I don't get the praise.

Thank the support gods on that one... speeds already limit ram, no need for amd / intel / etc only ram. Which irks me. I read on the amd 7800x3d official page, 5200mhz ddr5 is what it officially supports.
THEN I see all over on review sites, 6000mhz is the sweet spot, can go up to 6666 if you lucky.
Hrmph.

I swear to god that those turd burglars at Comcast are throttling my internet.
Concast... I wouldn't put it past them to steal even your .... turds...
I have a new problem with them every month. I'm stuck with the bastards too... no choice....

Strong disagree, but it’s a strange enough show that I get it. I think s2 is probably the best of them, and really like 3 and 5 as well.

I like the show, but the formula is kind of frustrating. Most seasons focuses on a killer or multiple killers that kill/murder/whatever with impunity and has little to zero chance of getting caught (or dead) until the finale due to incompetent and/or multiple incompetent law enforcement agencies.

Three was also my favorite until the end it kind of petered out in the last episode or two... built up built up built up and just kind of ended on a cliff hanger or open to interpretation. eh.

2 started great but was ridiculous.... 4 is decent, but I get season 2 vibes. Will have a more complete review of season 4 after tonight --- we watch the final episode of s4.

I like it... I don't watch modern shows really... so... if I watched it through it isn't terrible. Just bothers me people walk around invincible like, especially with the 'this is a true story' gag in the intro...

Looking forward to season five, everyone says that is a return to form.

Man.... my grandmother fell & broke her hip in october-ish this past fall. Proper season for it I suppose. Heh... at 95 she wasn't too thrilled on the rehab and all the meds and all the attention and people bothering her coming to her house (when she finally made it there)....
FForward to now, months of setting the house up for her to live there bed/rails/bath/toilet/life alert etc etc etc... now she goes and falls and breaks the other hip
She is supposed to stay remotely put in the 'safe area' but as with the initial fall, she can't stop doing weird things at night for unknown reasons.... both could have been avoided. What a nightmare....
:(

they are all ridiculous at different points. That's certainly an intentional part of the show tying in to the original movie and the bulk of the Coen Brother's work. I like the stories, but really I watch the show for the characters. They are just so bizarre that I can't help but love watching them. I could rewatch S2 any time just to watch Jesse Plemmons and Kirsten Dunst again.

I mean of course they don't kill or catch the main bad guys in the first half of the show so that complaint won't go away, but I think you'll like 5. If nothing else there's a better reasoning behind it than simple bumbling

I love Juno Temple, Steve from Stranger Things, and Jonn Hamm in 5 so much. And Wayne. Really I just love the cast as a whole. It's got some nonsense along the way because of course, but the actual plot is reasonably straight forward once it all comes together.

Indeed. Everyone is just worn out to the core with taking care of her / visiting... my father especially her boy.... he does some serious shifts with her every single day nearly. Now I was sick, wifey got sick the following week, then kiddo got sick that following week, so we are unable to go visit her and she reallllly really enjoys our company. I was always close with her (and grand father).... but it is difficult to keep the momentum taking care of elderly.....
Sorry for your grand mum... it is rough indeed.

mine's all the way down in Florida too. She's had to be in an assisted home for a while now though, because they refused to move back up north where the bulk of the family is.
