What are you hiding in your home that keeps these wankers trying to break in regularly?Another day another person trying to break in lmao. Saw a week ago bike tire tracks going to the basement window. This will never end.
last time I did it I used one of the online sites that lets you put builds together and they'll make it for you, but I just bought the parts and built it myself after I had a build together on their site. It let me start with basically a price point and how I'd be using it and then had stuff like recommendations for a tier up/down for each part etc. It made it a lot easier than when I did it back in high school.I haven’t built a gaming PC in 15yrs, I don’t even know where I would begin anymore but I do know more stuff is plug and play than it was back then, back then if you got the wrong part, your whole day was ruined and you had to figure out a way to find what was the right fit or change the motherboard or processor or blah blah.
I did speak to someone about it late last year, but it didn’t change the fact that when my wife told me she was pregnant again, it all came flooding back. So right now it’s just the worry of going through it again. So far everything is going smoothly, but you know it’s always in the back of my mind now.
It's a headache. For me at least. Even if you know what you're doing---or once knew years ago and have to reacquaint yourself with the new gear.last time I did it I used one of the online sites that lets you put builds together and they'll make it for you, but I just bought the parts and built it myself after I had a build together on their site. Ah yeah Orin definitely needs to go. Once they're gone I think you can jump into the home stretch pretty much right away if I remember right.Hit 12 I think right after the coronation before heading into the first big city, above the lower parts with the circus. I already got the other two, fairly quick succession too. Orin is the illusive one.
Same with my friend, haha.Ah yeah Orin definitely needs to go. Once they're gone I think you can jump into the home stretch pretty much right away if I remember right.
and yeah I just don't care enough to deal with all of that building a computer anymore. And especially since I travel for work the laptop is the easy choice.
No I agree act 3 had more side quests than I think it should. It’s at the point where it can mess with the story momentum.Same with my friend, haha.
Doesn't even want to hear about building it .. goes with a laptop.
They have /had (gaming) laptops but now even more so they have hand helds.... with plenty the quality. PC build just belongs in the home and should be a powerhouse imo. (i sit in front of it almost like it was a tv -- always have my whole life. whether or not I'm using it that is my personal chair) weird.... I guess... I donno =P
Good about orin. only problem is i think I have to go to that bhaal temple thing to find her... no? yes? I'm right about at that point I have to find one more right hand =P Yeah, being so close to the end I'm getting sick of the tease already, acts i and ii bring on the unending popup quests, there is still so much going on. act iii I expect the finale... not unending stuff again like act i and ii. that is just me though.... act iii is for the sum up, conclusion, am I wrong? Just feels weird to be building story in act 3
Yeah. It seems they compensated having no hub city kind of place available from the beginning that will host npcs and questlines (that alter with your gameplay choices in time) with placing most quests and npcs starting outside the city but will end up there. Which stinks in a way.... because I made a few choices I'd like to see pan out, but am so exhausted by this point I don't want to have to do more questing. Especially at max cap when there isn't much reward for doing so.No I agree act 3 had more side quests than I think it should. It’s at the point where it can mess with the story momentum.
It’s a problem I end up having with most rpgs, especially open world. They build the games so they can be finished without doing all of the side stuff, but if you do you end up making things too easy or even max level too early. And it always gets wonky story-wise to keep finding more side quests when the main plot is just waiting for me even though it’s supposed to be urgent.Yeah. imo, act iii really stumbles and inevitably fumbles from game time fatigue.
imo.

I think the game that handled this the best was final fantasy 6. 30 year old spoilers ahead the last act of the game has your party beaten and spread across the world and the big bad takes over the world. Since he’s already taken over it reduces urgency. You can go fight the boss and save the world a few hours in after you have 3 of your party members back together. Or you can travel the world and build your full 14 person team back. Their stories are played out in these sections as you find them. And when you do the last dungeon you have three groups of 1-4 people depending on how many you’ve recruited. So it’s organically easier to get through the dungeon based on the side quests you’ve done to get the team back together. But then you can only get one of those groups to the boss himself so it doesn’t make the final battle super easy. It flows so well both story wise and power level wise.Yeah. Agreeeeed.
Urgent hurry up imperative mission, but you can relax and get lost in distractions.
Next time I play I may go for straight main quest. Problem is they throw in personal quests for your entire party and they intermingle with the main story and get all discombobulated. Not sure how the flow would be skipping past them....
I cant comment, because I find that sort of thing easy to do. But its pretty easy nowadays. Theyve simplified things a lot.I haven’t built a gaming PC in 15yrs, I don’t even know where I would begin anymore but I do know more stuff is plug and play than it was back then, back then if you got the wrong part, your whole day was ruined and you had to figure out a way to find what was the right fit or change the motherboard or processor or blah blah.
They are a common drive. Samsung 900 series are probably the best of the best, cost sometimes is stupid though. I like the Sabrent Rocket series as well. Have 2 rockets, recently put in a Samsung 980 for more space, was on sale for the same price as the Rocket and slightly faster.Hit 12 I think right after the coronation before heading into the first big city, above the lower parts with the circus. I already got the other two, fairly quick succession too. Orin is the illusive one.
wd_black sn850x is interesting choice for m2? I thought it was the norm???
I'm glad I went with a pcie 4.0 board, gigabyte b650 aorus elite, outside 1 pcie 5 for the m2 drive, but the other two m2's will only be pcie 4...
I don't get the gimmick for pcie 5 when nothing really uses it gaming wise. And you will pay dearly for pcie 5 slots.
I don't get it???
Yep. I saw the game comparisons pcie 3, 4 vs 5 ... same exact thing, give or take.I cant comment, because I find that sort of thing easy to do. But its pretty easy nowadays. Theyve simplified things a lot.

PCIe 5 is completely overpriced and overrated for 99.9% of people out there. Graphically you can barely get close to full usage of PCIe 3 when you are using the full 16 lanes. PCIe 4 is more than enough for almost all home use. Unless you are regularly moving massive files, anything over 4 is overkill. Price and heat costs arent worth it.
I cant even remember what paste I used. I used to use Silver 5 exclusively, but that formula is a good 20 years old now. I went somewhere else.... Nocta maybe?Yep. I saw the game comparisons pcie 3, 4 vs 5 ... same exact thing, give or take.
Yeah, mostly pcie 4 is where gamers and home average users should and will be. I mean... even if you have a 5 board, most nvme stuff is pcie 4, unless you pay... and to me, those numbers are imaginary like you said, you'll never ever need that.
It irked me so bad to see 'top tier' gaming stuff pcie 5... when that is such a bollocks.
Get this... of course I forgot the cpu thermal paste so I had to hurry buy at best buy today and lo and behold a guy was at the gpu area with me looking around and he asked me about building a new gaming pc... I just played dumb because he was in the asking mood.... and when they only had crappy corsair xtm 50 (sold out of the 70) and I bought it just to have a spare (ordered artic silver 5 (for 6 dollarsafter paying 15 for xtm50)) the guy was at the counter asking about gpu's and the poor poor bastard was trying to buy a 100 dollar amd card for his new pc... the guy equally clueless behind the counter was actually trying to push it on him saying he'd get 100 fps on medium settings 1080p and just imagined how mad that guy would be if he listened to that guy... I got the heck out of there.
Not sure there is a point to the story other than average gamers don't really know much about computers outside of top level, medium, and meh.
All my stuff comes tomorrow... I have no new place cleared for this case... it's more.... 'showy' than my old 'throw-it-under-the-desk-it-works-fine-no-need-to-look-at-the-fancy-lights' build. Now I have to worry about hair and dust and all that.... good thing about my 10 year old is I don't really care about it much (I do... just not like a brand new build)... trouble awaits
oh and about the ssd's, yes I did read samsung is the best but pricey, it is only 7 more dollars than the wd black. I see a lot of sabrent rocket on toms hardware.... not sure where I got the wd_black .... I used samsung ssd's for my whole modern gaming existence so... we'll see. I need another for storage, I can always get a samsung m.2 and just switch. Not really worried about being stuck for a few weeks or months after working the new machine into a groove with all the settings bios, etc etc etc...
Yeah, I may not use the corsair 50 paste and just use the aio on the cpu until the paste comes on tuesday... or put a dab on the hotspot area and wipe it off come silver 5.I cant even remember what paste I used. I used to use Silver 5 exclusively, but that formula is a good 20 years old now. I went somewhere else.... Nocta maybe?
Im sure your m2 will serve you just fine. Speed differences are minimal in the top brands.
I dont even bother asking people in the store for information, usually its wrong. We have a very good local store and even then I research everything out on my own.
She's taking the walk with jurgen klopp@Clare2904 Mate, I’ve missed ya, where you been?
