I keep hearing about these billionaires buying bunkers lately, something big going to happen soon world wide we don't know about?

There's a non-trivial portion of the history/geopolitical/nat-sec academic world that thinks the opening acts of WW3 (Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Gaza/Iran by proxy, rise of far right groups, etc.) have already happened. At least, similar to the way that some attribute early 1910s or 1930's events to WW1 and WW2.

Note: I'm not making a political statement.

Netflix largely sucks ass, but I will say the Castlevania Animated series and the new He-Man (Masters of the Universe by Kevin Smith - Revelations and Revolution) have been fantastic. To get closure to the original 80's cartoon in that series by Smith is great, I also like how his team explored Keldor properly while the newer shows kind of just ignored it entirely.

Otherwise, Netflix still sucks ass.

The MotU series got some really bad reviews when it first came out. Lot of it targeting Smith IIRC for "ruining their childhood" or some similar bullshit. I didn't watch it (still haven't), but that backlash sounded a lot like the middle-aged/boomer take about Lucas and the prequel-sequels.

Netflix's animated stuff can be pretty darn good. I've really enjoyed Arcane, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Blue Eye Samurai, and Inside Job. The original Castlevania series was heckin' good too. Whatever the new series is called I couldn't get into. And I've not watched the He-Man series but I'll add it to the list.

HBO's Scavengers Reign is up there in quality as well.

Also, I find it ridiculous that some adults still think that "animation is just for kids".

Animation adjacent: I'm cautiously optimistic for the Avatar live action series.

Also my wife and I just watched Envy with jack black, Ben stiller, and Christopher walkin and I honestly love it. We loved it when it came out in college, have been quoting it for 19 years, and still love it. It’s 8% critic and 27% audience on rotten tomatoes and I don’t think I’ve ever disagreed more with the general public. It’s absolutely hilarious. Maybe Walken’s funniest performance. “A quality pretzel doesn’t need salt, it’s a fact”

I've only seen Castlevania out of that list.

Edge runners, Arcane, and Blue Eyes Samurai - do I need to know anything before watching? Like a previous show?

Arcane is the only one I’m 100% sure of and no you don’t need anything for it. In fact I recommend nobody ever plays league of legends  not only is it a toxic online mess, but it’s got juuuuust enough bits of character story to spoil parts of the show without actually telling a real story. Going in blind is better.

I don’t think you need anything for the others either but not 100% on that.

You need no prior knowledge/background info before watching any of those series.

I forget who I was chatting with about Disco Elysium. Or if was even on HFPens. But it was on sale on Switch recently so I bought it. Again. I just don't play games on my laptop. But it only cost me $10.

I played for about 2 hours last night. The performance on the Switch isn't so good. And I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing.

While I am all for my fellow countrymen directing in DC, I really don’t want Matthew Vaughn anywhere near a Supergirl movie. I was a huge fan of his with Layer Cake and thought Kingsmen was ok (weird butt sex joke at the end was kind of pathetic), but since then he’s just been mailing it in. Argylle looks blah. I think James Gunn should give him a character that someone like Matthew Vaughn resonates with - He has some good chops with Comics with X-Men, Kick-Ass, then Kingsmen (being also a co-creator with Millar)…but Supergirl? Jeez, no. The Authority would be a great Matthew Vaughn project to helm.
Anyway, the removal of Mad Men from Amazon Prime frustrated me enough to buy the entire series on Blu-ray. I'll probably be buying more physical media for the foreseeable future.

There’s a lot of bad movies that are so bad they’re good that we all enjoy.

A Knight’s Tale, Step Brothers, and Space Balls are all ranked low but are pretty damn fun to watch for how ridiculous they are.

What even is that game? I’ve heard it’s great but I know absolutely nothing about it.

Those movies being ranked low makes me sad, comedy is just a weird thing I guess. Or maybe I’m just weird

I think comedies are just ranked weirdly low on RT. Not that I give a shit what Rt or IMDb rates a movie. I am sure a bunch of the movies I adore are rated super low on that site.

I will say I do enjoy seeing Snyder movies get dunked on by Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic though, just to see the Snyder Cultists lose whatever few marbles they have left. Rebel Moon legit sucked, it was one of the most hyped movies on any platform for a while and it ended up being the typical pile of turd that Snyder is known for.

X-Men First Class, I thought, was great. And it's been a few years since I've seen Layer Cake but remember liking that too.

One "bad" movie I absolutely love is BASEketball. Another one that I loved, on first watch at least, was The Marine with John Cena. It was so ridiculous.

Disco Elysium is basically a table top RPG but in video game form. With amazing voice acting, music, and supposedly deep story. It's fairly funny too.

Yeah, Layer Cake is great.

BASEketball is hilarious. The part where they go through the possible scenarios for the Denslow Cup is amazing.

Soon it was commonplace for entire teams to change cities in search of greater profits. The Minneapolis Lakers moved to Los Angeles where there are no lakes. The Oilers moved to Tennessee where there is no oil. The Jazz moved to Salt Lake City where they don't allow music.
