So they brought the Hat hat back. To get it you need to buy 3x tickets to a game.

Any ideas how to get the Hat hat as a solo fan? Other than trying to find 2 friends to go the game with.

So going to the Devils-Rangers game in January is more expensive than a flight to Florida. That's a new one.

I'll be on a cruise that weekend so I listed my ticket for sale at what I thought was a high price.... it sold in like 6 hours. I feel like an idiot even though I made decent money on it haha.

Weekend ticket prices are ridiculous right now. It’s looking like the only games I could go to with the family are the Tuesday night ones. $90 for an upper deck seat against the Isles. I’m out.

It will come down after December, lots of people are off, college kids home from school, kids off school, etc etc etc during this time of year.

This time of the year the games are usually crowded when the team stinks so with the team actually good now it's not surprising that's the price to get in. Plus the Islanders are playing well so got their fans probably wanting to come as well.

It's also the first home game they're wearing your favorite jerseys  and that Chico and Nico bobblehead giveaway which is pretty dope.

Whoever picked the games for the reverse retros did a terrible job. Two of the worst teams you could wear them against (color-wise) is the Flyers and Islanders.

They would look great against Dallas, Minnesota, Vegas, San Jose, Ottawa, Carolina, etc. Any team with too much orange or yellow is going to clash.

I have a single ticket in 212 for tomorrow night that I can't use. I'd be willing to give it away in exchange for you showing up early enough to receive and then mail the bobblehead to me. Send me a pm.

Edit: no longer available.

Does anyone know what The 1982 Room is at PruCenter? I’m on suite level 2 for the Villanova game today and there’s a sign for it.

Security at the arena needs improvement…

So tonight in section 101, near the end of the second period, a crumpled up beer can went flying over our heads and down to the lower bowl. The usher between sections 101 and 102 spotted it and immediately came down to identify the thrower. After she and a few other fans pointed out the guy and his friends, guess how she had to alert security? Her personal cell phone, and it took her some time to get the call in and speak to security. If the can thrower wasn’t too drunk to get up and flee via the stairs on the other side of the section, he easily could have ran away. Luckily the end of the period dragged on due to an icing so that security could arrive, because it took several minutes and they sort of trickled in. Even when they showed up, they didn’t block the exits so the thrower and his group actually kind of just got up and walked past them as intermission began. The beer thrower even patted one of the security guards on the back before exiting, and the guard was too small to really do anything…

We followed them up to the concourse and the thrower was nowhere to be found. Some of his friends were talking with security. So we went to the lower concourse to walk around, and happened to bump into security again this time escorting the beer thrower and 1 of the friends. They were by section 1 when we saw them and were being led back towards the Broad St. side of the building. The beer thrower was almost unable to walk because he was so drunk, and he kept pushing the security guard away. The security guard seemed to struggle a bit to get him to continue on though luckily the drunk guy and his friend didn’t put up a fight. Not sure what happened after that as we kept walking.

I’m just amazed that no police officers were present at any point, and security seemed not properly equipped to handle the situation. Ushers using their own cell phones to call for help, security taking a while to arrive and not keeping the problem person detained, and then no support for security to kick the guy out… Again, if this guy wasn’t drunk out of his mind, he probably walks away. Can’t even imagine the response if there was a fight..

The one solace I take in the situation is that multiple fans, myself included, had no patience for this guy. I’d hate to start a culture at Devils games where people think it’s acceptable to throw anything. But pretty sure I saw a beer can on the ice at the end of the Dallas game.

And this is the issue with the beer throwing incident against Toronto that people legitimately condoned or brushed aside. We have enough drunk assholes in our crowd that they now think it’s acceptable to throw things. Anytime shit hits the fan at a game now I’m fully expecting people to start throwing things.

Well I was hoping a few of them got thrown out and maybe even jailed but clearly via Colin's post tonight security was no doubt lax that night too.

Home opener, I was in section 7 and some drunk behind me threw something on the ice. I sent a text to that number they show in the arena to report incidents and even put the row and seat in the text. Nobody ever shows up, nothing happens and about an hour later I get a response saying thank you for the text, housekeeping has been notified.

Was sitting in 101 for that game too. I was in the first few rows so I saw the can flying over head. There wasn't to big of a commotion when I turned around to see what was going on but I'm glad the guy was tossed. Did the ushers really see it or did the fans in the section notify them which led to him being thrown out ? Either way throwing stuff at the game is a no no. They need to have police on each level of the arena , not every Security Guard is able to really break up a fight or toss someone out. When a cop is around people usually are not dumb enough to continue what they are doing.

Deff seems like an issue that should be brought up to the arena operations.

Tried out the Mad for Chicken place that went into the Dinosaur BBQ location.

My chicken sandwich was solid, fries were good, and beer menu was interesting.
I checked it out last week. The wings are phenomenal and they had a special of 20 wings and a bucket of beer for $45. That's actually a decent deal since their wings are around $32 for 20 and they're worth it. They were pretty short staffed and had a skeleton menu as they're still in the soft opening phase.

How early did you have to get there? A big reason I never bother going to most of those restaurants right there is that unless you get there super early it's either super packed or the wait is forever.

It was pretty funny. We got there at around 4:30 and were literally the only two people in the place while American Whiskey and Redd's were already packed. As time went on people trickled in as they discovered it was open and probably couldn't get into the other places. I'd say by 5:30 it was pretty packed and they only had one bartender and one waiter from what I could see. They haven't changed anything on the inside from Dino.

Going to be going to my first game since pre-lockdown on the 23rd. It seems like a lot of places have changed in the 2-3 years it's been since I last went. My go-to pregame spot was always Hells and now I need to find a new place. Anyone got recommendations for a good food spot with a solid beer menu? I might try the chicken place that was just talked about, but seeing what the other options are.

Burke's, it's in the same space as hells.

You could say it's a bit more bistro than bar, but that bar area is the same, i's usually lively on game night, and the beer and food are excellent.

Hells Kitchen used to be my go-to spot as well.

I tried Burke's Tavern a few weeks ago when I went in for the Columbus game. On the plus side, the interior looks a lot better - they have a lot of windows wrapping around the corner now, which made a big difference (I got there at noon for a 2:00 game). However, whereas Hells Kitchen had a very basic (though excellent) menu, Burke's menu was more upscale. For example, the buffalo wings at Burke's only come grilled with cilantro verde.

The food was fairly good, just not what I was looking for in a pre-game meal. I also wasn't too impressed with the beer selection. It was also noticeable that whereas there was usually a decent Devils crowd at Hells prior to games, my kids and I were the only ones in Burke's until just before we left when a pair of women showed up. No other Devils fans, though that game was a low draw. I wound up just going to Redd's Biergarten the next game I went to. At least they have a really good beer menu and the food is decent enough - it just gets packed unless you get there early.

May try out the chicken place next time - let us know how it is if you wind up there.
