So we're all (season ticket holders) getting a mystery autographed puck apparently lol...it'd be interesting to compare notes and see who got what.

Anyone get an email about needing their tax information from Ticketmaster recently? I haven't sold anything in 2022 but just sold a pair of my Red Bulls tickets for a game through the Red Bulls app through ticket exchange for a game that I can't make for $50 and they sent me an email about needing my tax information. It looks legit because of new tax laws but I obviously didn't even come close to $600 so it shouldn't be an issue. Could be more of an issue with the Devils in the future if I can't make a bunch of games.

Here's a link about these new tax laws...

Was cruising down Mulberry today and that new building which is just a little south of the Rock and just prior to the Post Office turned out really nice. I was expected a lame parking garage, but it was anything but.

If you sell them for less then what you paid can you write it off as a loss?

I would assume no unless you were a business but I'm not a tax accountant so don't hold me to that lol

These guys were approved for financing in January: Newark City Officials Approve Three-Tower High-Rise Development at 289-301 Washington Street - New York YIMBY

I was walking around ironbound on Wed and there's a 450 unit residential building with retail space on the ground floor on Union just off Ferry (where the Walgreens is). It appears to be about 60% complete and moving full steam ahead.

If you haven't spent much time in ironbound recently (or ever) I can't recommend Sihana highly enough. It's a great little new-ish cafe on the corner of ferry and prospect across the street from Iberia.

There's another tower on market that appears to be roughly 20 stories so far going up directly adjacent to that hideous parking garage.

It's pretty nice to see development on that scale in a city which was essentially written off over half a century ago. Especially in this trash economy.

Now if they could just clean up Penn Station...

EDIT: Shaq is a partner in that building on Market and he claims he's going to live there.

Another site two blocks from Penn Station was recently approved. 13 stories, 225 units + retail. 13-Story Mixed-Use Building in Ironbound Gets Approval From City Planning Board

I haven't been in Penn in a while, but in general figuring something out the homeless problem, as well as addicts who are either passed out or begging for money, is a big need. I see sidewalks packed with kids getting out of school and guys passed out on the sidewalk. Terrible combo.

Also see some of the craziest driving imaginable. Wild wild west level stuff. Which I find oddly entertaining.
But yes really promising to see all the building going on there. The ongoing projects you mention, but see a bunch more of lots being cleared for what look like upcoming projects. I've mostly been on the west side of the tracks so haven't gone into the ironbound much, did cruise through there once recently but I really don't know whats what yet. I'll check into that cafe.

Edit: Man those towers look slightly out of place. But maybe a precursor for further high rise projects.

1) this is a problem in too many of our large cities. I don't want to see a broken windows policy put into place, but something has to be done. I don't have the answers, but I'd like to see Newark get creative.

2) I wait for the walk sign and only cross at the crosswalks. I never do that in the city.

3) they do look out of place but you have to start somewhere. It doesn't appear like development is slowing down, so hopefully they're just ahead of the curve in regards to real estate south of Market St.

What's the price range for a partial season ticket? Just for the 1st half. Ill be arriving in NYC towards end of Sept and staying in the area for 6 months before returning to Europe.

Unless you want the same seat every game you're better off just getting tickets on the secondary market, it will be cheaper and you can sit in different seats all around the building. Especially cause you won't be here for any possible playoffs(lol) so you don't need to worry about guaranteed playoff seats.

Love to see those construction plans get the go-ahead, especially the high rise towers. Every time I'm flying home into Newark I think about how the city could use some high rises to make it look more modern and eye catching more like the skylines further east. Only downside for me is that I park for games over on that part of town so it'll make the commute and parking situation a bit difficult.

This is correct @Capt Nico Poo

Also - and I know some season ticket holders hate hearing this - but you can usually walk around and sit in whatever section you like sans the clubs.

From my perspective itd just be easier to buy one half season tix and go with that w/o going through the hassle of buying a new tic for each game. But if the catch is in having access to playoff tix (come again, what offs? ) suppose it doesnt even come cheaper to do it this way.

Yeah I mean if that's the route you want to go, I am fairly confident that they have offered a half-season plan in the past. And it may come with some added benefits as well. If I was you, I would wait until plans are announced and then submit a form on the site to speak with a ticket rep. Just flat out ask them what they can do to "sweeten the pot" for you to sign on and you can probably get something out of it given how badly they want to make sales.

I do also personally enjoy having the same seat to every game since I like the people around me and like my view (section 101). I know sometimes a sales rep will take you on a tour of the building so you can pick your seat on the spot, so push for that too if you're able to do it before the season starts.

Right, that's a good idea. I actually already wrote to the Devs marketing team, lets see if they reply. I do arrive in September so should probs have the time and would be a fun experience if i dont end up taking the seat. I too like the idea of having my own seat. I'd never shut up about it back in Europe.
