Look at how many tickets are available for tomorrow's game!?!?!?! This is embarassing. They only announced 10,700 last night. This will be an Islanders home game when all is said and done. The Devils really need to consider lowering ticket prices to try and get more people in the building. Make it up on concessions or merchandise.
It actually turned out to be a pretty big crowd for an early season Thursday night game :dunno:

13,816 announced and it looked like it from my seats.

Does anyone else think the volume is too loud in the lower level? I mean, it always is, as I always see some parents with hearing protection for their kids. But seems even more pronounced this year... not sure why.

I will say it was an energized crowd last night and I loved when they let Bauman lead the cheer, and focused on getting the crowd even more into it!

While lower prices would be nice I disagree. They need proof of vaccination status and they're doing a terrible job riding the fence about it.

I'm not here to have the vaccine debate, only to state that I believe their policies are hurting their bottom line.

They were trying to drown out the Islander fan chants.

I agree. As we were going through the metal detectors some random person yelled out "Are you vaccinated?" Didn't hear who it came from so we didn't answer. My family of four are all vaccinated but were never asked once to show any proof or anything. Perhaps that's what could be keeping people away. I heard the Garden were much more sticklers but I haven't been there myself to determine that.

I haven't been to msg yet, but Barclay's is pretty strict about it and the Nets attendance numbers appear to be just fine.

Happy to report back on what the toilet looks like on Sunday.

I've missed one game this year and they have checked my vaccination card every single time at multiple entrances. Not sure where this is coming from that they don't check vaccination cards.

My rep, this week: vax status or enter with a mask. So he's either terrible at his job or you're one of the people who shows it of your own volition.

I attended opening night - only because I had a suite - and no one batted an eye.

I’ve been stopped at the metal detector every game but one to show my vaccination proof.

Just my own experience.

It's definitely dependent on which usher or tower you go in (and/or the time before the game you go in). Most of the time I've been asked for vaccination proof. The last time I wasn't but I had the green sth vaccination card in hand so maybe someone saw it and didn't have to bother asking. Still as has been pointed out you could just wear a mask for thirty seconds and then take it off once you're up the escalator anyway.

And it's easy to speculate why attendance is down but we'll never really know the answer. I suspect it has more to do with the team's recent lack of success + out of sight and out of mind for eighteen months in terms of not being able to attend games. I think if this team continues its good form you'll see an attendance spike by the new year, ham-handed policies or not.

Since you're speculating I'll take the opportunity to present a fact that my rep is frustratingly aware of.

Many of us have no desire to sit amongst thousands of unvaccinated, drunk, unmasked people.

You do your thing, but it would be cool if you didnt.

Wait. Wait. Wait.

I had to click on the same link I provided, but the entire arena now no longer accepts cash anywhere?

That shit should be illegal.

attendance will probably spike in the spring like usual but covid and the lack of protocols are definitely the reason no one in my family are going to games this year, i imagine we’re not unique in this.

maybe as kids get vaccinated more families will show up but it’s not just down because the teams been bad

Asking for vaccination proof doesn't matter when you can wear a mask for 5 seconds and then take it off on the escalator. I've had this conversation enough with my rep. I haven't been to a single game this season so far, I'm carrying over the money for the games so far into the 22-23 season. If they changed the policy for this season I'll start attending again.

I know this policy works for some people but it personally doesn't for me, it is what it is.

They do have machines to convert cash into a card to use.
If you have a debit card. Or at least that's the way I'm reading it.

I haven't intentionally carried more than $20 in my wallet for quite some time, but it's a pretty garbage policy any way you slice it and is a disturbing trend across the service and entertainment industries.

How utterly stupid, section 7 is a club section but I’m not allowed in and I’m in like row 11. I thought the 7-9 sections were automatic clubs?

I believe you can put cash in.

why would you need to convert a debit card that you can already use at the stand?

Middle sections are club. Rows 1-5 of the side sections.

LOL, it’s stupid - especially when there’s only one way of getting in and out of the middle seats the next section over. I guess I shouldn’t have expected it from the giveaway tickets but it’s still pretty arbitrary to have seats not in the clubs have access while seats in them don’t.
