No.. no, he's in the act of shooting a puck.. he's not loitering anywhere. Something you need to be able to do in this game without someone causing you a brain injury. Vulnerable position and predatory..

A check is all about separating the player from a puck... it is normally a puck carrier.. It can sometimes be a shooter if they are not in a vulnerable position. I should not have to explain this honestly.

There are plenty of questionable hits, vulnerable position isn't really defined well. But if we're going with that, I wouldn't mind the league cracking down on hits to players who are already engaged with another player. And a shooter, in principle, has the puck.

sure - it is about safety really. Just like the NFL.. we accept it is a violent and physical game but it needs to be within the rules and spirit of the rules... part of that is players respecting one another.
Jackets are one of the biggest surprises of the season. They are en route to a 6-game winning streak and hanging on to the WC2 spot.
