I'll have to go through the first few pages, but 3rd Cup (all with different teams) for Trusty Patches?

I'm surprised the C. smythe wasnt won by either Vancouver superstars.

Also, that Islanders goalie is insane lol

I can't believe that Andy is back with Kansas and extend for another year after the bad treatment early in his NHL career in Kansas.
@BKarchitect : BK, how you see it, good was that Kansas had one of the best years when I am right.

Omg I didn’t even see that. Hilarious. Andy is a wise old man now and looks like he’s being treated better even as an older player now with a solid role. He must just really love living here in Kansas City!

Every superstar there is one that I find myself gravitating towards and following closely. This time around I found that pull towards Herold Van den Berg. What a career it has been. From the outset this guy has been a dominating scorer. Van den berg has a knack for creating offense and making those around him better. What has been amazing is that as a 14/15 year old Van den Berg was a dominate force in pro-hockey in the Netherlands league. He was a phenom in every right! The expectations were sky high for him and many scouts believed that he had the potential to be a top 10 pick. Van den Berg is the definition of a north south player who is looking to get up the ice and score. He doesn't cheat you on effort and can play with any type of center. Van den Berg may not have been the most skilled forward out there but he can bury a puck if you ask/need him to. Following his career as a 2nd round pick, I believe Van den Berg had a chip on his shoulder. Right when he moved over to North America he killed it in the AHL and earned a call up where he was extremely productive on an average Chicago team. I was expecting him to be a huge staple in the Chicago Blackhawks rebuild but they decided to trade him to Florida. What stood out to me was Van den Berg's consistent scoring effort. He had some great years in Florida and some great years in Quebec following the trade. I really believe that his NHL career was cut way too short. I really believe he would have gone on to have more 50 and 60 point seasons. One reason may be that he was a pretty 1-dimensional offensive player. Though Van den Berg didn't win many awards, he had a hell of a career and help the Netherlands become a competitive hockey nation. Congrats on a great career!

Oh no Scheer retired from injury. Too bad, that was close to being a dynasty with those cup apperances.

I dont know how Tenders got over 10m a year on this contract, he's like an average goalie that once in a while has an above average season

Trusty Patches Conn Smythe Trophies

2039/40
2044/45
??

Can Patches go 4 cups and 3 Conn Smythes like Patrick Roy and reach the greatest heights of goaltending? 1 more year in Vancouver with Povysil... then maybe a few more chances in his late 30s?

Tips, Tricks and Change List for EHM V20

Tips & Tricks to help with building your next superstar:

1. To understand more about player ratings and how they work, take the time to read this wikipage that explains more of it indepth. Attributes: Players - EHM The Blue Line Wiki

2. Avoid creating F/D prospects. I know it seems like a really cool idea, but it always ends up in the player playing defense more than the forward and that can kill your interest if you really wanted to have a forward who occasionally plays defense. If you don't mind it, go for it, however for the most part i'll advice against it.

3. A lot of you are interested in creating a player that represents a lower-tier country, but you want to spend more time in the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). Here is your options
a) Drafted Through the WHL Bantam/OHL Selection Draft/QMJHL Entry Draft - Give yourself a Canadian/American birth city and make yourself a dual citizen and set Major Junior as your junior preference and I will set your declared nation as the national team you want to play for. Eg; Birthplace: Toronto, Nationalities: Canada/Argentina, Team You Want To Play For: Don Mills Flyers, Junior Preference: Major Junior
b) Drafted Through the CHL Import Draft - If you don't care, precede as normal, start in Europe or where ever and choose Major Junior as your junior preference. You will then be draft

4. Think about what kind of player you want to build and think about the attributes that would make that player successful. If you want to be a two-way centerman for example, it might help to have excellent faceoffs, passing, checking and skating. It may also help to have excellent bravery and to also choose to mould your player after someone who is a two-way center like Patrice Bergeron.

5. This has a little less to do with creating your player but more your personal enjoyment. Try and switch up your player a little bit. Choose a new name, a new city, a country! It might help you enjoy it as it's something different.

6. If you want to play in college you cannot play Major Junior. You can only play Canadian Junior A/B, US or Canadian High School/Prep, Canadian or US AA/AAA Hockey or USHL. Also give me 3 to 4 teams you're interested in playing for.

7. Staff Rep is very important!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

List of Teams you can start on in the BK NHL X Database (Will Come Back and Update This):

North American Potential Starting Places:
GOJHL, OJHL, USHL, QJHL, AJHL, BCHL

Canadian Prep School Hockey - Trinity, Stanstead, Mount Academy, Bishop's, Rothesay, Ridley, St. Andrew's, St. Michaels, Upper Canada, Newbridge, OHA Edmonton, OHA Pacific Coast, RHA Kelowna, RHA, Shawinigan, West Van, Yale, SAHA, Pairirie, St. George's School, IHA, ND Hounds Midget, BWC, Delta, Edge, Northern Alberta

US High School - Massachusetts Prep, Minnesota North H.S. Minnesota Central H.S., Minnesota South H.S. and Connecticut Prep, Michigan Hs.S, New York Prep, North Dakota H.S., Pennsylvania Prep, Wisconsin H.S., New Jersey Prep, New Hampshire Prep, California Prep, Ohio Prep, Idaho Prep, Colorado Prep, Illinois Prep, Maine Prep, Rhode Islad Prep, Vermont Prep

Prep Hockey Conference - Shattuck-St.Mary's, Northwood, Culver, NTDP U18 Team(NOT THE USHL team), South Kent, Nichols, Bishop Kearney, The Mount

Europe Potential Starting Places: To Be Updated

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

List of Changes Coming to V20:

1. Favourite Staff/Disliked Staff - You will now be able to list up to 3 players/executives/hockey people you like or dislike. They can be people already in the database or they can even be other superstars.

2. Disliked clubs - This may help if you want to avoid signing with a particular team. You may list up to 3 clubs you dislike.

3. (STAYING FOR V20) Extra "EXCELLENT" rating for any of the following:
a) If you were drafted 1st OVERALL at ANY POINT (NHL Draft, CHL Import Draft, OHL/QMJHL/ in v19 - you may add one extra excellent for any category of your choice)
b) Additional Excellent Stat if you hit your career goal!

4. You're free to make your player from any country. I won't restrict anyone as sometimes people just find it more fun to be a Canadian/American/Russian/Swedish/Finnish ect.

5. Increased trade requests. I'll allow up to 3 or 4 trade requests.

6. Choice of having a completely random CA and PA or having the ones we normally use where your player is guaranteed to become a superstar. We'll name it Guaranteed Superstar vs Randomized Superstar.

7. EXCEPTIONAL STATUS PLAYER (IF YOU CHOSE MAJOR JUNIOR, YOUR PLAYER WILL BE ENTERED IN A DRAW TO BE AN EXCEPTIONAL STATUS PLAYER AND YOU WILL BE PLACED ON THE CHL TEAM OF YOUR CHOICE RIGHT AWAY!)

8. Guaranteed Superstars will have a higher CA to start off the game. That way they can potentially set new records and really dominate in junior.

Let me know if you have any other things you want me to add. Gonna be working on the new signup thread now. While grinding out a ton of retirements.

I like the increased trade requests. I think we had some stars who were unhappy with their clubs for extended periods in v19!

Hoping our little expansion draft will make the four new clubs a bit more competitive as landing spots as well. They won’t be “good” per se but they’ll at least have the bones of recognizable teams. Plus filling four entire rosters will also put a bit of a hurt on the existing 32 teams so I would expect a flatter overall spread. Ideally we won’t have Superstars wasting away for their first 7 years on horrendous expansion teams.

BK, you put my player Andy here on the spot! :) That was a real hard start to watch and the funny point is he returned at the end of the career and is playing more meaningful for Kansas.

Lol exactly who I was thinking of.

You don’t want to be a malcontent though, maybe a player should lose 3-4 “loyalty” points every time they demand a trade :)

Unfortunately we are saying goodbye to a great one far too soon. I thought he and the Capitals organization would stand the test of time! When it comes to Lindt Scheer I think he became a fan favourite among all superstar users fairly quickly. That dynamic duo between Scheer and Reynolds was one of the most exciting and dominating defense pairs I have ever seen in these superstar series. Lets start at the beginning though. Lindt Scheer is a Canadian-Slovak athlete who chose to represent Slovakia internationally despite being born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Early in his career, Scheer showed very clear signs of being an exceptional defenseman. In his two seasons with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens in the OJHL, he scored 70 points and 104 points respectively. Clearly this was going to be a special player. Early on he had committed to the University of Minnesota-Duluth, but the Barrie Colts still took a chance drafting him late in the OHL Priority Selection in an attempt to maybe sway him from going to college. At Minnesota-Duluth he had a great year! He went over PPG with 47pts in 46gp and was able to help Minnesota-Duluth win an NCAA championship. That was good enough for him to be drafted 5th overall to the Pittsburgh Penguins. From the outset I though this would be a match made in heaven. He would be a perfect transition from Letang to Scheer, but things didn't really work out like that. Scheer's offensive ability really took a hit, he was okay defensively but the Penguins really neutralized his offense. It wasn't until his contract year where he finally took off. Then the decision... what an amazing decision it was to go to Washington. It really changed his life. He went on to team up with Ty Reynolds and that pairing was so dominant. Scheer was the stay at home defenseman but what still get his cookies. He really understood what it took and the sacrifice it took in order to win. 2 Stanley Cups and many NHL Awards later, Scheer finally called it quits because of an injury. I always think about what would it look like for Washington and Scheer if we had 2 or 3 more years of his ability on display. We would we see more cups? More career highs? All in all a great career and I know we are all sadden to see Scheer retire!
