Here's the cliff, everyone jump. EDM wins 4-2

I think Brown can be traded if they keep a decent chunk of the contract. Now if that is something you would want to do that's another question. Richards will for sure be taking up a fair amount already and if you add Brown to that list of dead cap money you're putting yourself in quite a hole when compared to other cap teams.

I guess that 6 players who knows how to score 30+ goals per season easily one of them 40+ goals, all decline at the same time has absolutely nothing to do with our coaching staff.

Heck if we weren't so lucky Sutter would be done here since 2 seasons.

I remember when the clock saved us the playoff spot against Tampa bay.

Can we fire Sutter now ????
I am tired to watch the same crap hockey since Terry Murray.

We are freaking 18th in goals scored with Williams, Brown, Kopitar, Richards, Carter, Gaborik, Toffoli and Peason.....
Other teams would kill for a top 9 like that.

You think the performance of these players this season had something to do with Sutter's coaching?:laugh::laugh:

I have no problems how the Kings play. The system got us to three WCF and 2 Stanley Cups. Manchester plays the same way. They are tops in the AHL.

His contract makes him unmovable. Cap space right now, is the most valuable commodity a team can have.

Yeah, I agree. I was being a little bit optimistic but I feel like the Kings went from being a team with a bunch of amazing contracts (Brown cheap, Williams cheap, Martinez/Muzzin cheap) to being a team with the most unmovable contracts (Brown new contract, Richards, Greene). I guess that's what happens in the salary cap era, all these guys with rookie contracts are looking to get paid.

I disagree. His contract is very expensive but I'm sure teams will line up for someone like that. He's a 3rd line captain making almost $6M/year. Why do people think he is untouchable? Give Doughty the captain and trade Brown, it really isn't math. The guy has been horrible last two years.

Lombardi views Blake not spending his entire career as a King a tragedy, and he never won **** here. How do you think he feels about the guy that captained not one but two cups to LA? The first and only two? Think long and hard, young warrior...

Ok just throwing this out now. If the Jets and Flames both lose on Thursday, do they play for OT, knowing that guarantees both a playoff spot. Or do they try to win even if it means the Kings could boot the loser?

Defense isn't even our biggest problem. Neither is Stoll.

Kopitar has 16 goals. 16 goals. 16. Williams is high and Dwight King has been inconsistent. Not even going to talk about Brown or Richards, AKA the people who get paid A TON to score.

Because i named players who have scored 30+ goals multiple times.
And all of them suddenly don't score anymore.

Carter is fine when he is scoring 40 goals, Toffoli is ok, Williams and Kopitars brutal choices are forced by the system the Kings are playing.

Circling the boards and throw the puck into the crowd in front of the net is going nowhere since Terry Murray.
On top entering the O-zone from the outer sides is taking choices away since you can just go to the inside.
If you enter in the center the opponent defender are forced to move towards the middle and this is opening the whole ice.

Our 3-2 rushes are best example for that. They don't even attack our winger anymore because they scouted us out since 5 years.

If you say so.

This is the first season Kopitar is actually not shooting the puck, like at all. He's never had less than 25 goals in a full season after his rookie year, and that's with Sutter and Murray as the coach.

I can't imagine how annoying the Cup wins must have been knowing Sutter was behind the bench. Outscoring Chicago with 0 goals from Kopitar. The players must have done the exact opposite of everything Sutter told them to do.

Assuming Kings get 4 pts here on out, Calgary would need two, Winnipeg needs two. So there are different ways for them to get the two needed, including a possible dreaded three or game on Saturday between the two. How fitting would that be!

yeah, Brown's not going anywhere. He's a King for better or worse. Frankly, I thought he was getting his legs moving again and starting to hit. Didn't get his scoring up, but maybe next season with a lot of rest he can get back to a more acceptable level of play.

C'mon really? Stoll has every bit as much heart as Mike Richards. Stoll does what he can with the talent he has at his disposal, and you can never say that he is unprepared. Can the same be said about the other guy?

It just amazes me that people are still calling for Richards to be inserted into the lineup. It's like certain people haven't watched Richards play the last two seasons.

Mike Richards last 25 games played for the Kings..

1G, 2A, 3Pts, -8

With zero physical game. I mean I don't even know what to say when I read a post like the one you replied to.

Coaching staff isn't the issue. The physical style obviously tires the players out but it doesn't make sense for guys like Kopitar, Brown, Williams to look so tired throughout the whole season. The Blues play a similar style, their players have looked fresh for the last 3-4 years.

Both teams will try, and win the game.

That doesn't guarantee both

Read between the lines of what Dean said earlier. He's doing work this offseason. Bring it on.

Yup, and I doubt we see an extension for Kopitar this off season. Too many variables regarding the salary cap and unknowns about his future performance.

Hoping something good happens with the Voynov situation so Dean can trade a defenseman for a #3 center.

Still two games to go, and miracles can happen.

Browns biggest problem has been his line mates. Not saying he was great this year, just it is hard to score with no one to pass the puch to or to give him the puck. It seems like he gets the puck on a turnover. Skates it over the blue line and takes a shot. I mean would you pass to Stoll?

I get that but he's got changes to make. I don't think Brown will be one but it wouldn't be the wrong move. Making a change like that to your core might wake these guys up.

There won't be a gentleman's agreement because "**** those guys!" will be the attitude. They are competitive athletes. I imagine both would be fine with facing the Kings if it came to that. Neither had much trouble doing so this season.
