Are you just going to dismiss the numbers he has put up? Guy scored 52 goals last year and is on pace for 37 this year and 13 of his 22 points are at even strength. He is not the problem. I could think of quite a few who actually are the problem.

He’s absolutely part of the problem. So many people are blinded by his year last year. He’s been absolute dog shit this year.

I will also say this in Trouba's defense.

I believe those post game comments were directed mainly at the PP1 crew. They are taking up the entire two minutes on the PP and they look dead most of the time. They look like they just want to cruise through the game and pick up some easy stats.

Kakko and Laf have a combined 18 points which is not much more than Kreider's 13 even strength points. I'm becoming fed up with their lack of production.

Zib has played like a soft vegan allergic to contact this year, you won't get any argument about that from me.

But how about Kreider? He hit two posts today and scored a garbage goal, his deflections have generally been tough chances to defend against, he had a couple opportunities to take the puck hard to the net and did so, and he's probably the only player on this team who actually seems to understand how to screen a goalie.

On the other hand, Trocheck plays like a selfish player and doesn't make any of his lines better. On the PP he consistently sits at the high slot looking for a shot where he is not a viable passing option. At even strength, he insists on ragging the puck up the middle right center of the ice and not using his teammates. Panarin and Kravtsov had ZERO even strength shots tonight, that's how little chemistry that line had.

The only differences between him and Scott Gomez are that he actually hits people, and that when he carries the puck into the zone he shoots it whereas Gomez would just skate behind the net every time.

He doesn't deserve to be on PP1, and right now the best place for him is centering Laf and Gauthier on a third line that is all about crashing the net.

Time to face facts. Laf, Kakko, Kravs have been disappointments and unproductive. People only like to bitch about the vets. The kids need to start producing. Laf missed a wide open net tonight and shot it right into the goalie. They need to be better.

it’s past the point of questioning if a guy wants it or not, past the point of trying to understand what or who is to blame.

This team is in such a tailspin that it’s like they are watching themselves play a shitty game and can’t do anything about it. It’s like a bad dream.

Seriously, this is a little incredible to me. This team is so so so much better than this. We’ve seen it. Every player is shitting the bed at once.

It’s alarming and quite the psychological f*** job as a fan to see it happening night after night. Thinking it will be the night to finally get out of it and it only gets worse

In all seriousness what is the brand of offense? We don't chip and chase, we don't cycle, we don't point shot with traffic and tips, what is the offensive scheme?

I see a team that keeps moving it on the perimeter thinking the d will keep adjusting and eventually allow a hole for a cross pass. I mean it's almost routine that eventually the two wingers end up STANDING on the dots with and without the puck. There is no penetration of the house via the puck or traffic. It's why bottom tier goalies look great against us.

Even when we were good players like zib would drive the slot without the puck and be in motion. When players become stationary the way we are it makes defense VERY easy.

It's all based on individual effort. It's why we've been terrible at even strength. There's no cohesive teamplay.

I think there's a disconnect here between the players and coaching staff. They keep preaching the importance of 'board work' and winning the 'boards'... If all our players are on the boards... we're not winning.

Everything is ad lib. What's the team gameplan on transition? What's the team gameplan on the forecheck? What's the gameplan for zone time?

Being medicore is the shittiest position to be in. Changes are more unlikely now, as the people on top think "we just need a bounce for things to start going right".

It would be better if we just straight up sucked. Because of our goaltending, that ain't gonna happen.

It has not been fine. Halak is 1-7 and allows a softie nearly every game. His save % tonight was .800. Shesterkin also has been very average. It's as much to blame as every other aspect of their game. Their shit play this year has been a total team effort. Offense, defense, goaltending, and coaching.

Out of those, goaltending has been the least bad that was the point I was making. Looking at the games we lost with Halak, in the majority of those we scored like 1 or two goals. Can't win that way in this modern league, where scoring is up.

Even if Shesty has regressed from what he was last year (which was generational), he's still putting up decent numbers. Even Halak is not killing us, if you look at his play. A team like Edmonton would kill to get our tandem.

Our problem is, that we suck at 5v5 hockey. And now that our PP has also regressed, we are not getting results.

Both have 28 points and lead the team in points, and last season, Panarin was the only player to crack over 90 points, and Zibs was 2nd on the team with 81.

He isn't and shouldn't be immune from criticism. Him celebrating non-goals is getting sad in it's own right.

Didn’t watch it - was out for a family lunch and phone was pinging with the updates. Wife knew we were getting smashed because I was swearing under my breath and being an angry asshole to my brother in law.

I’m hating on this team so bad right now - someone has to do something.
