All this talk about Millionaires / it has to be Panarin right ? It doesn’t seem like Mika even talks that much

Fox is the 3rd best D in the league and is young

Kreider ?

There is not another player in the league making 12 million dollars that is playing anywhere remotely close to as bad as Panarin. HE is the biggest problem. HE is the reason we didn’t get to the Cup Final last year. He fell completely apart going into the playoffs and hasn’t recovered he’s terrible. His line (and I don’t care who’s on it) should always be the best one we have. But he’s absolutely dreadful

I don't see how anyone is defending Gallant at this point. I don't see anything that he does well.
Fire Drury first and then let the new GM make the decision on Gallant . In all honesty....missing the playoffs would be the best thing right now for the club's long term success with the picks and the development of the current ones on the roster /AHL/Junior /College before trading them to make a playoff to win a series. Drury made this mess losing Buch and TonyD for diddly squat and signed Halak . A new GM should give Gallant the rest of the year and then weigh it out .

This doesn't get brought up enough. There's been no attempt to integrate the young core with the old core. The respective successes of those two groups are completely separate. Separate lines, separate PP units. The kids work hard to draw a penalty at evens just for the old core to soak up the entire two minute power play.

No other team operates like this. Part of the "gig" for people like Panarin, Zibanejad and Kreider should be helping the young players come along and develop yet this team has essentially done the opposite by hermetically sealing the old core apart from the young core. We don't have one unified NY Rangers team, we have a varsity Rangers and a JV Rangers both operating individually with separate goals and rewards.
We don't have this because this organization literally came up with a plan that the veterans were gonna carry the team and the young guys can watch and learn, and "wait their turn". When Gallant said that, I knew it was not going to be good. The world doesn't work like that.

On a smaller scale at my job, we have an apprentice who is about to become a journeyman. They did not work much the first 3/4 years as certain guys in my company never made an attempt to integrate this person into the work being done. Now this person is in the last year of their apprenticeship and is basically on the level of a first year apprentice. We will eventually lay this person off once they become journeyman and they'll be stuck at a rate that is way higher than anything their worth paying and will inevitably bounce around from job to job getting laid off for years until it catches up/ever catches up.

I mentioned the other day how Jagr took Dubinsky under his wing and said keep him on my line the rest of the year. Dubinsky went possible NHLer to full time NHL player and 2nd line player. The coach killers(Mika, Kreider, Panarin) have no interest in this. If they did "wait your turn" would never have been a thing. Instead you have young guys changing wings, forcing passes, getting demoted, getting no important minutes.

Laf rooms with Miller. That dude needed to be stuck to one of the coach killers' side. Instead they made their own BFF alliances. As sir avgard has told us Kakko had no one but video games until he got his dynamic girlfriend.

This organization is doing everything backwards. Edge told us all, that the feeling is the young guys are treated like assets. "Wait your turn" was a prime example of this. Here's the result. Laf can't even try to skate deep 1v1 on a guy his confidence is so shot. Kakko can't get on the scoreboard, other than that bombshell.

All because these idiots thought they were smarter than the rest of the league and think that once the vets are gone we can just plug and play the kids and everything will be fine. The world doesn't f'n work like that. Much like the apprentice, they need the important minutes, they need to f'n learn.

God dammit, deep rooted changes need to happen to everything. This is not just a fire the coach situation. A nuclear bomb needs to go off and reset.

For an organization that loves a good Disney story, the best they could offer fans the past four years is Panarin passing a few pucks to Kravtsov after practice. That is telling. The vets don’t integrate the kids and the coaching staff panders to the vets.

Honestly, the only way this organization can make the meteoric impact change that it needs to is dealing Panarin. I like the guy, but he's a shell of what he used to be for whatever reason. I realize he's got a full NMC, but this is the way forward and, really, what needs to be done give next year's cap situation and letting 1OA and 2OA breathe. Want to shake up the room? This is the way to do it.

Turns out, we actually won the game last night

It is crazy...the kid will score 1000 pts in this league before he is finished . He is just a kid....many just do not understand the process .
To be fair, the Rangers organization doesn't understand the process either

I don't buy the fact that our players are slow. We just play slow. A guy like Mikko Rantanen is not a rocket on skates. Yet he's one of best wingers in the game, playing for one of the fastest teams in the league.

When you play slow, you start looking at the individuals and how they skate. If the team would be in pace, you don't notice the "slow" players because everything is synced.

If the players are not moving, you see how they are slow when they try to get up to speed. This should not be the case. Players should not be standing still.
That's a good point. Many Rangers do this thing where they stop & look around when they have the puck ... sometimes that works because the opponent doesn't stop, so the puck carrier gets free to make a pass. However more & more it seems the opponents are onto this trick, and these plays result in giveaways.

Drury identified the right players last deadline so I have some faith he can identify the current failings. Not much but some. Gorton was the one who locked this vet core into place for the next 5-7 years.

Anaheim has cap space (if Im reading CF right);. Has attendance problems. Strome. Beaches (for his wife and dog.)
Brought this up last week. If they win the Bedard sweepstakes, they'll look to retool and get back into the playoffs ASAP.

Some guys don't want the coaching lifestyle. Vally has a great gig and he is able to pursue his other projects as well.
He likely could write his ticket to anywhere with regard to hockey broadcasting these days . He is ready for another level . He would be a great catch for TSN or Sportsnet .

How low can they go? Can we get low enough where the lottery move-up is a potential #1 overall pick? Stay tuned...
