Gallant refuses to bench vets but wonders why they don’t listen to him.
Panarin and Zibanejad "work" in the sense that they find a way to produce but they have the same stupid habits too.
This organization murders offense. Always have, still do. The owner blocks any attempt at change.
They have a skills coach?????That's why they need to make a change with the skills coach Ciaccao should be gone. I don't care if he's a local guy or Sather's buddy.
That's also why I'm not going to miss this MSG if a new building happens. This building's ice has been awful. Thanks for the memories and the overrated concert reputation.
Yeah most coaches are poor players or journeyman. Not to say that Gallant is Messier or to try to create some kind of iron law, and obviously pro hockey careers are kind of built like a pyramid where more guys will play 100 NHL games than 1000 NHL games, but with the "accountability" thing popping up with Gallant it's still interesting that so many of these guys have Alain Vigneault playing careers, very few have Gerard Gallant playing careers, and almost none have Mark Messier playing careers.
Yeah most coaches are poor players or journeyman.
The thing with Gallant is although he partied hard as a player, he still attended Roger Neilson coaching seminars every summer. He worked his way through the system.
Messier coached one semi pro team in a semi pro tournament and thinks he's Toe Blake.
I can see Drury calling Trouba, after that performance to get the lay of the land
The change in tune from the broadcast crew is what really strikes me. Micheletti traditionally defended everyone no matter how badly they played. He'd sugarcoat everything. Not these past two nights. Can’t remember the last time it was this negative in the media, from the captain, and from the broadcast crew. It’s coming from all sides right now.
at least Vally put the luck card to rest. 99 percent of the time you make your own luck. there is no passionate forechecking. It is as soft as you get kinda hockey
Even Vally is behind the times. It's speed, puck movement, puck support, skill and quick reflexes that decide the game today. Physicality and an effective forecheck for swift puck retrieval is absolutely a necessary component but the game doesn't start there, the game starts with puck smarts. At this time, they are not even an average team at any facet of the game….offensively, defensively, special teams, goaltending, discipline, physically……all well below average at this time.
Has to be a change in not only coaching, but mindset and game plan. Will be a very challenging task for whoever that would bring in
People love to shit on Kreider but he's one of the few who actually do score. He was the best net front presence in hockey last year with 52 goals and if it was easy deflecting goals then everybody would do it. He practices that stuff every day. This year they are not going in for him as frequently but he still has 12 goals and 22 points this year. I know I know, he's on the PP. When other guys prove to be as good in front of the net let me know.Signing Krieder long term was a huge mistake.. except for getting goal when othe players are shooting the pick of his stick he never seem to bring any physical presence.
No one plays pararin to shoot the the puck. He need to go on fully auto shooting the puck..
Kakko, Laf Ned to play up to their draft status.. can believe we might have missed twice on the top to picks..
Defensively we are a mess and if I was playing goalie, I ask for a trade..
Lindy is a good player but doesn’t have what it takes to protect our best player in the ice.. case in point domi running fox tonight.
Who is he talking about?Valli said sometimes you get fractions of the locker room that talk and they're negative
then he said the negative talkers hang out long enough and then mgmt says we've got to get rid of them
later he said some of the millionaires need to be upstairs in the press box watching
add into it Trouba's comments about being careful about what he says and about players out there going for a twirl
there's serious issues with some of the highest paid players who are poisoning the group and they need to gtfo
I dont blame Gallant there's a cancerous presence among the group that needs to be removed
C’mon man. That’s tinfoil hat talk. No one is being censo…Censorship in every walk of life seems to be a pervading theme of the 2020s.
No...this roster was just as piss poor last season. Igor being other-worldy & the trade deadline guys just hid it better. Was Ryan Strome the glue all along?
McKeggWas Ryan Strome the glue all along?
This is interesting....i used to be in Toronto a lot and people there said pretty much the same thing....I think the nicest comment I heard about him was that he was an "insufferable prick"I'm not "connected" by any means but I did know some people who worked in or were affiliated with the Rangers from 2006-2011. This does not include bar owners I got to know when I was a cover band musician in my early 20s from around 2003-2007.
They all told me the same thing: Messier is not the easiest person to get along with and not that humble. He believes the hype about himself and doesn't have great people skills with the average Toms, Dicks, and Harrys.
This is not to take away any of his on ice accomplishments, but I consistently heard this.
You can't have that kind of person coaching.
This is what happens when you hitch your wheel to the wagon of aging overpriced talent instead of actually trying to develop young players.
f*** Jeff Gorton and all the keep Kreider and sign Panarin people can also eat a dick.
Thought we did. DeAngelo, Lemieux and Georgiev.I dont blame Gallant there's a cancerous presence among the group that needs to be removed

How far did that get Gretzky?I heard he doesn't want to take an AHL job but the guys knows hockey and is a winner. Greatest captain of all time. Give him the interim job and see how it goes. This team is going nowhere this year if changes aren't made immediately.
