If vesey lasted this long on the top line, without doing ANYTHING, then give them the same amount of time there. And you have to question the personnel in the final minutes of these games. When you need goals you put your best offensively gifted players out there. Goodrow is NOT one of those players.

Not to say that Gallant is Messier or to try to create some kind of iron law, and obviously pro hockey careers are kind of built like a pyramid where more guys will play 100 NHL games than 1000 NHL games, but with the "accountability" thing popping up with Gallant it's still interesting that so many of these guys have Alain Vigneault playing careers, very few have Gerard Gallant playing careers, and almost none have Mark Messier playing careers.

Yeah most coaches are poor players or journeyman.

The thing with Gallant is although he partied hard as a player, he still attended Roger Neilson coaching seminars every summer. He worked his way through the system.

Trouba's a vet. I don't think he's going to go over Gallant's helmet to Drury. He admitted he was hesitant to say what he said in his post game. I think that's the most anyone is going to get out of Trouba in terms of criticizing the team or the coach. In a normal organization that should be enough. Drury has to know what's going on already.

At this time, they are not even an average team at any facet of the game….offensively, defensively, special teams, goaltending, discipline, physically……all well below average at this time.

Has to be a change in not only coaching, but mindset and game plan. Will be a very challenging task for whoever that would bring in

Even Vally is behind the times. It's speed, puck movement, puck support, skill and quick reflexes that decide the game today. Physicality and an effective forecheck for swift puck retrieval is absolutely a necessary component but the game doesn't start there, the game starts with puck smarts.

Gallant and Drury (and others) are asking a vet core (with NMCs) that lives off the rush and finding space to play dump and chase gritty hockey. It was never going to work. On top they have alienated the kids. How can the kids trust and respect management and the coaches, even the vets (Trouba apart) after this? Management can't get things straight. The coaches can't get things straight. The vets are at odds with the vision of management and the coaches, internally and even the kids, who want to play a modern team game. This is the same reason MTL pulled the plug on the whole thing and reset with Marty St.Louis and the kids and a fresh clean out of the franchise.

Signing Krieder long term was a huge mistake.. except for getting goal when othe players are shooting the pick of his stick he never seem to bring any physical presence.
No one plays pararin to shoot the the puck. He need to go on fully auto shooting the puck..
Kakko, Laf Ned to play up to their draft status.. can believe we might have missed twice on the top to picks..

Defensively we are a mess and if I was playing goalie, I ask for a trade..

Lindy is a good player but doesn’t have what it takes to protect our best player in the ice.. case in point domi running fox tonight.

When other guys prove to be as good in front of the net let me know.

I'm not "connected" by any means but I did know some people who worked in or were affiliated with the Rangers from 2006-2011. This does not include bar owners I got to know when I was a cover band musician in my early 20s from around 2003-2007.

They all told me the same thing: Messier is not the easiest person to get along with and not that humble. He believes the hype about himself and doesn't have great people skills with the average Toms, Dicks, and Harrys.

This is not to take away any of his on ice accomplishments, but I consistently heard this.

You can't have that kind of person coaching.

This is interesting....i used to be in Toronto a lot and people there said pretty much the same thing....I think the nicest comment I heard about him was that he was an "insufferable prick"

This is all fine but as I've said before none of this supports Kreider getting as much even strength minutes as he does. Give him all the PP time you want but cut back his even strength minutes. He should be like a Johan Franzen type PP specialist. Kreider had the second most even strength time tonight.

I heard he doesn't want to take an AHL job but the guys knows hockey and is a winner. Greatest captain of all time. Give him the interim job and see how it goes. This team is going nowhere this year if changes aren't made immediately.

Kreider has always left the Rangers wanting more with the exception of last season yet when all is said and done, he's going to basically be this generation's Steve Vickers.
