What's the chance that Gallant gets das boot tomorrow?

It's no longer cracks we're seeing as much as they are rifts. You know Trouba ain't the only one bitting their tongue.
Very slim

Ask again on Friday after the next 3 games and they’re loses though and the answer might be different lol

I heard he doesn't want to take an AHL job but the guys knows hockey and is a winner. Greatest captain of all time. Give him the interim job and see how it goes. This team is going nowhere this year if changes aren't made immediately.

I agree to change, I'm not sure this team with the kids failing should be heading down a rookie coach road.

Signing Krieder long term was a huge mistake.. except for getting goal when othe players are shooting the pick of his stick he never seem to bring any physical presence.
No one plays pararin to shoot the the puck. He need to go on fully auto shooting the puck..
Kakko, Laf Ned to play up to their draft status.. can believe we might have missed twice on the top to picks..

Defensively we are a mess and if I was playing goalie, I ask for a trade..

Lindy is a good player but doesn’t have what it takes to protect our best player in the ice.. case in point domi running fox tonight.

I've said it a million times, this team is going nowhere without the kids being productive members of it. So why in the world would we have Jimmy Vesey, a guy who may or may not be back next year, on the first line taking ice time from Laf or Kakko ? They need to stop dicking them around and give them big minutes, big situations and some more pp time otherwise they are gonnna stagnate and the whole team is gonna pay.
NHL coaches are obsessed with unskilled players who play “the right way,” and think putting those guys at the top of the lineup will inspire everyone else to play “the right way” too.

09-10 sucked, no doubt about it. But at that point we had a bunch of young players coming up and didn’t have a reputation for ruining players careers.

Again, maybe the team was worse, but I felt like we were on the up. This franchise is in titanic mode right now.

They have a reputation now?

I'd argue back then it was worse. It was closer to Blackburn and Cherneski prematurely retiring, screwing up Kloucek (thanks Ron Low) and Malholtra (thanks Muckler) and not giving Martin Richter or Marek Zidlicky a fair shot.

This franchise is going to have many young players joining the org next fall (Edstrom/Berard/Othmann/Grubbe and maybe Sykora) and that doesn't include potential moves.

I'm not "connected" by any means but I did know some people who worked in or were affiliated with the Rangers from 2006-2011. This does not include bar owners I got to know when I was a cover band musician in my early 20s from around 2003-2007.

They all told me the same thing: Messier is not the easiest person to get along with and not that humble. He believes the hype about himself and doesn't have great people skills with the average Toms, Dicks, and Harrys.

This is not to take away any of his on ice accomplishments, but I consistently heard this.

You can't have that kind of person coaching.
Not to say that Gallant is Messier or to try to create some kind of iron law, and obviously pro hockey careers are kind of built like a pyramid where more guys will play 100 NHL games than 1000 NHL games, but with the "accountability" thing popping up with Gallant it's still interesting that so many of these guys have Alain Vigneault playing careers, very few have Gerard Gallant playing careers, and almost none have Mark Messier playing careers.

They're "better" when the analytics are worse because they need to cheat with impunity and give up 45 shots to score.

They can score goals OR have the puck. They can't do both. They have to be behind the defense to score because they have no offensive ability.

Gorton saw this pattern time and time again which is why they announced a rebuild predicated on acquiring elite talent.

They kinda did but it still requires patience and a culture.

Instead, Dolan soiled his pants and plugged Panarin, Zibanejad, and a couple of lottery picks into the machine. The same machine where Torts had to have six goaltenders and AV had to play video game hockey to get it to work.

We keep hating the coaches because they all have to do really stupid shit to get anything out Sather and Co's rosters.

I see what Gallant is doing. He wants a more possession style game after Igor faced 69,000 shots last year. Honestly, Turk, go back to the 43% corsi. We scored a few goals on the rush at least.

Eh that's hating just to hate. Ziba's been here since July 2016. He's one of the few Rangers with Kreider around from the last really good year the team had in 2016-17 before 2021-22.

Panarin wanted to come here. He made it work. The best thing to have probably done was to say no.

Did anyone else hear Joe talking about how GG was frustrated that the first unit soaks up all of that time? Like bro, you are the coach. You control ice time. That’s what you do.
Lmao no I missed that. Is Gallant serious? Why is it up to the players, you’re the coach!

There’s being a players coach and then there’s this. As if this is the only team in the league with veterans who want all the ice time? Literally every single team has that.

Panarin and Zibanejad "work" in the sense that they find a way to produce but they have the same stupid habits too.

This organization murders offense. Always have, still do. The owner blocks any attempt at change.
