They should stay away from player interviews, they're super boring and aren't anything different than what you see on Sportscentre anyways. Carlyle is great though.

Anyone get the sense that HBO are trying to set up Babcock as the ultra competent, professional "good" coach (ala Bylsma) while Carlyle will be portrayed as the vaguely goofier, more profane coach (ala Boudreau)?

I know they are HBO, but it's going to be pretty hard for them to pull off that level of movie magic... :sarcasm:

-sees above post-

Yeah so anyways. I was pretty impressed with the first episode. You can't load the first episode with the stars and too much content because there has to be an element of storytelling to this. The funny Bozak/Kessel, awkward Datsyuk, and all that will come in the next episode likely but as a "pilot" per se - I was very happy.

Needs more Kulie though. ;)

Pretty funny that Kessel celebrated harder beating JvR at table hockey than he does when he scores on the ice

Speaking of Kessel, whats with him and those beanies? Always has one on....

Pretty good - seemed to cover the Leafs on average a bit more than the wings.

Raged inside seeing Game 7 all over again...

Looking forward to next week, and seeing our shellacking of the Cup Champs that happened earlier today.

And there's barely any f-bombs in it, so I don't think much, if anything will be lost for Sportsnet's broadcast.

Pretty good 1st ep

The conversation between Wings' players at that one dinner seemed pretty forced, but I imagine it's pretty tough to act natural with the cameras there lol.

Carlyle is hardly the miserable coach everyone seems to think he is, he lets the team know exactly what is expected. Even has a sense of humour. I thought his 3rd period instructions in the LA game were good, we made one mistake by pinching and that was the margin of error.

Biggest thing I have learned from 24/7. Teams after every goal -- 'f***ing right boys'

Decent episode. Need a Bozak-Kessel bromance feature

I would block you, but I laugh at every post you make. Why do you even cheer for the leafs if you hate and are embarrassed by the organization

His posts belong in the entertainment forum.

I found Carlyle hilarious...

"my toast is stuck.... MAINTENANCE MY TOAST!"
guy walks up "what did you do"
"I unplugged it"
guy reaches in.... Carlyle shocks him and turns to the camera and laughs.

Also, never knew the GM and assistant GM were apart of the phone hearings for suspensions, wonder how much the player actually talks
