That is what scouting is for and why those trades rarely happen. There is too much risk to acquire a top 5 pick with the returns being asked.By that logic, no pick is more valuable than any player.
This is why there mots likely won't be trades.Just because the pick is a high pick doesnt mean the player(s) available will match it in talent.
This draft doesnt scream high end to me. Solid players as usual, some gems to be had, but the top 5 isnt a slam dunk by any means.
Is Malhotra going to be better than Nazar? Is Bjorck? Stenberg maybe...I would rather stick with the just turned 22 year old who plays with spare parts yet still could have hit 60 points this year if healthy.
Again we took Dach 3rd overall, Boldy went 12th...you think those two could be traded today for each other?? Lol...
Vancouver is in a weird situation. They've got guys like Petterson (27), Boeser (29), Debrusk (29), Hronek (28), M. Petersson (30) all locked up for 5-6 years each. The other guys include Rossi (24), and CTE in waiting Chytil (26). I think those guys are some combination of too much term (Boeser, Debrusk, M. Petersson), would be more valuable for a contender (Hronek), injury/bad play making the risk too high (E. Petersson & Chytil), or too similar to existing Hawks players (Rossi).what players would be available this off season for futures? that is in there mid twenties and is upgrade over donato TT Etc? he is the only one I can think of. Canucks are the only tanking team.

What do you mean what does that have to do with anything? It has everything to do with things. Who gives a shit about the pick # it is about the talent you have available there and select. Dach was the 3rd overall pick, some of you are drooling over a draft position of #4 like it is a guarantee. News flash, IT CLEARLY ISNT, numerous better players were picked right after Dach. What the hell does that have to do with anything? Do you think the Hawks couldn't have gotten a really great established NHL player for the 3rd overall pick in that draft has they decided to trade it pre-draft??
By your logic draft picks have no value because it's a gamble.
I would trade Nazar straight up for Smits or McKennaSo for some of you answer me this..
Would you trade Nazar straight up for
Stenberg, Malhotra or Bjorck??
Those are the forwards right there at #4...
So you are saying that the unnamed 4th overall pick doesnt hold more value than Nazar does at forward?I would trade Nazar straight up for Smits or McKenna
no one else in this draft
on paper a 4th overall pick has more value than NazarSo you are saying that the unnamed 4th overall pick doesnt hold more value than Nazar does at forward?
I am talking specifically about this drafton paper a 4th overall pick has more value than Nazar
but in reality it's entirely dependent on the quality of the draft class
Probably not Bjorck. I would trade Nazar for smits, carels, Reid, McKenna, Stenberg, Malhotra based on value and what I project them to be.So for some of you answer me this..

I'm hearing a lot of buzz about Unnamed Player, maybe with should draft him 4th overall? He and Future Considerations could be a dynamic duo. What’s this unnamed bs. We know the limited universe of fourth overall candidates. It’s not some mystery box from the sky.
Now is your chance for once to not make general blanket statements. Go ahead and answer the below question...I'm hearing a lot of buzz about Unnamed Player, maybe with should draft him 4th overall? He and Future Considerations could be a dynamic duo.

You gotta go all in because if they didn’t match they get four unprotected firsts.Anyone up for throwing $15M at Leo Carlsson? Give Bedard the same contract maybe an extra million? We can fit all that under our cap. Anaheim can't.
Just an idea I have absolutely not thought all the way through.
I mean kind of? Once the picks are gone, they're gone. Doesn't really matter what they are.You gotta go all in because if they didn’t match they get four unprotected firsts.
Not as concerned about egg on face just that there’s no backup plan at that point. You’re ridding Bedard and Carlsson on their matching $15 million AAV to the bitter end.I mean kind of? Once the picks are gone, they're gone. Doesn't really matter what they are.
The real question is is Leo Carlsson worth 4 unprotected first rounders? I'd say maybe? Especially if the team gets better.
Most would bank on and expect whoever is available at 4 to be better than Knies..Ah yes, an unnamed prospect is better than Knies..no clue who the player is, just a number. Got it lmao
