If both Hayes and Zucc go in the coming weeks the next few years will be pretty grim, although I've seen people throw around 5-6 years before we're competing again and I don't envision it taking that long.

Would be absolutely epic to win it all that season. Hank riding off into the sunset with a cup. It’s literally the fairytale ending for every Ranger fan.

As long as he’s playing he has a chance. I won’t believe it can’t be done until he hangs em up.

Even deeper, when was the last time a rebuilding team accomplished such a feat against a team another tanking team “competing” with them for the top 3 drafts spots?

That has RangersTown™️ record written all over it.


Possibly late 80s early 90s Toronto would be the honorable mention

It's probably easier in basketball, but Fizdale and the Knicks seem to be able to tank properly.

Good win, though.

I like how the refs can “miss it” with the penalties. Sor-ry, Jesper. Sor-ry, Jimmy. But they’ll dig high and low to turn back a beauty goal.

It is easier.

At the same time, I don't think the Rangers are focused on it the way the Knicks are. I think the Rangers approach is, 'if it happens it happens but were not going to intentionally do that'.

The officiating was so horrible in this game. Apologies for the rant. But if the refs cant get it right, the league really should get them off the ice. Put some judges over the ice so the big calls aren’t missed and leave it at that. The league must rethink this. It’s - at best - random. Because the refs can’t keep-up. And more likely they’re making calls primarily to manage the score. Which is begging for an investigation by antitrust officials. Either way, like the concussions issue, the league has to sort it out before the government does.
Sorry. End of rant.
