Reunanen is the only player that looks close to the NHL level.

Barron needs more time at the AHL level. Awesome shot for the goal but he hasnt been all that impressive otherwise. And thats ok. He is still green. Its why it was silly for some to be penciling him and Richards in for the 4th line this season.

Khodorenko has been very impressive. Very involved.

Cuylle scores!

could Cuylle be a year away from the NHL, or needs much more time? Could be here at the NHL level faster than we a think? Seems to have a good 1st pro game.

Needs more time. I mean he looks good for a rookie in his D+1 year, but its only one game. You can see the NHL level potential. But let him develop. Let him get bigger and stronger

Gotta remember when watching Hartford this season that when we think of "this level" as in the AHL, this isn't a normal AHL season as there are going to be a few guys on each team that wouldn't otherwise be eligible, and each team is probably short a few guys that are overseas or just without a contract. It's like a watered-down AHL this season.

Pack win 5-2.

Cuylle just looks unfazed by this level. Excited to see if he can keep improving. Plays a pro style. Keeps it simple. But he's effective, especially on the forecheck. Still should keep playing here or juniors for a year or 2. But i like.

Reuschoff. I like him. Big kid. Doesn't look remotely out of place. Good in the corners. Good stick. Decent skating.

Gettinger seems faster, more dangerous. I think he's on the cusp of finally being a 4th liner.

Schneider go beat wide by Jobst. (who was by far the most effective Bridgeport player). But then, next shift showed off his skills in the offensive zone. He played a most effective game. The thing is, he's not really a pure shutdown D. He's a kid with good skating, good outlet passing and some real offensive instincts. Kinda feels like a better skating, better passing version of Dan Girardi. Girardi was one fo the guys who was known for stability in his own zone but had actually decent instincts in the offensive zone. Really like Schneider's game. Going to translate well I think.

Reunanen sorta reminds me of Keane at this level. Stands out. Sometimes he's not quite in the right place in his own zone. But the vision and skill is apparent.

Finally, I'm a fan of Patrick Newell. Undersized kid but the skill, speed and offensive game is really enjoyable to watch. Don't know if he has the size to play in the NHL, but he's a fun guy to root for.

Didnt get that vibe with Gettinger. Just looks like such a nothing player. He is big but it just always felt like there was a lot left to be desired every shift. Felt like i was watching a very, very poor man’s Nash. He had a little space in the 3rd ripped a nice wrister, but other than that I came away with this is nowhere near enough to play at the NHL level.

Once ADA is gone won’t Cuylle be the last piece of that original Stepan Raanta deal? (Not counting what the Rangers get back for
ADA of course)

Re: Gettinger, we've seen him in the NHL a handful of times and he looks like he just doesn't have the pace to me more than a JAG, warm-body type. Like he won't hurt you but isn't going to contribute much. I think he will continue to be a good AHL player but unfortunately it looks like he's one of those guys who doesn't have the extra gear required for the NHL.

Thanks for the updates guys.

Good to see Barron score even though he will need some time adjusting to the pro game. Still good for his confidence.

Also good to hear the 20 class is performing well. This is a unique situation having them up in the A and getting early exposure to the pro game. Bonus it doesn’t count against their contract years

Man let me tell u watched the game and Barron Cuylle Schneider and Reunanen were all fantastic.

Barron is just such a smart player I could gush about him forever. Always moving his feet. Heavy shot. Gets into the right spots. Good on face offs. Does it all type.

then you have Cuylle who’s already a better player than Andersson. Great wheels was buzzing (good and bad) no matter what. Just got better as the game went on. Both guys never passed up on throwing the body

Schneider was fantastic in every aspect.

reunanen very solid. Adam Fox lite lite. Just smart getting pucks thru.

I agree with the majority of your post except for Barron. Thought he was doing quite the opposite. Was not moving his feet enough and looked delayed out there, getting caught puck watching 1-2 seconds too long before reacting and getting his motor started. Of course I think he is gona be fine, he had a much better 3rd period, but did not see the same things you claim to have. Saw him turn pucks over, lose battles, and again just looked a step behind. He was letting the play come to him too much.

Meanwhile Cuylle was taking the play to the opponent. Much more involved, constantly around the puck. This being a 18/19 year old vs a 21/22 year old who has seasoning in college, it was a stark difference.

Only one game, but Barron needs time.

How is Cuylle 15lbs bigger than Barron? 4 years younger.

I thought Barron was thicker. Did he lose weight or something?
