Moved this here, to discuss the potential D 'glut' on Pack.

Before elevating a Jones or Nils to big club, as we may see a vet D signing or PTO/camp-invite, at least these 12 guys are signed

6 RHD - Nils, Skinner, Emberson, Welinski, Giuttari(AHL), Luke Martin(AHL,age 23, NCAA Aug UFA in '20, 52OA in'17 Canes, UMich)

6 LD - Jones, Robertson, Scanlin, Tinordi, Luka Henault(AHL age 21 rookie OHL Windsor), Blake Hillman(AHL age 26 career AHL/ECHL, 4 NHL games 4 yrs ago)

Our latest poll had Skinner at 14, does FO see it differently?

The 12 could get down to 8 quickly, say Jones up, and Martin/Henault to Jax along w Scanlin or Hillman ...
I’d think both Jones and Nils are with the Rangers this season. Or traded. Should ease the glut a bit, at least.

not sure when Pack Camp starts, but gotta be very soon
some NHL teams have already 'assigned' players to AHL affiliates

Pack have a preseason game next Friday, Oct 7

Gallant has said the last 2 preseason games (Wed 5th Bruins, Sat 8th Isles)
will be the guys who have made the team or on the bubble

NYR play Thursday/Friday vs Devils, those games will likely feature some of the Hartford-bound players,
veterans (CJSmith, Gettinger) and new kids (Korczak, Henriksson, Rempe, Boyko)
[ so far, none of the ~11 players on AHL contracts have played in NYR preseason games,
with so many NHL-signed guys still in camp, likely may not)

after those games, maybe as soon as Saturday morning, we should see lots of guys reassigned

Edstrom won't play in AHL this year, but curious if he will join Pack camp for a bit before returning to SHL

So would we say odds are that Boyko and Lindbom start in the ECHL with Domingue and Garand in the A?

Appears Domingue wasn’t claimed. I assumed he wouldn’t be but with the league-wide dearth of goaltending I figured there was a small chance. Pretty sure he’ll get games for the rangers this season. Now that he has cleared waivers, can he come up and down as needed this year or will he need to go through waivers each time?

seems this is applicable CBA clause,
i wasn't sure if terms were different for Goalies, regarding when Waivers become required again,
but seems common -
after 10 appearances, OR 30 days CUMULATIVE(total, not necessarily consecutive) since last waivers, new waiver exposure would be needed to re-demote

CBA 13.2 ... a Player may be Loaned to a club of another league, upon fulfillment of the following conditions, except when elsewhere expressly prohibited:
(a) Regular Waivers were requested and cleared during the Playing Season Waiver Period; and
(b) the Player has not played in ten (10) or more NHL Games cumulative since Regular Waivers on him were last cleared, and more than thirty (30) days cumulative on an NHL roster have not passed since Regular Waivers on him were last cleared.

Nice, I like the Syosset kid. I mean he probably sucks but Syosset is like 15 minutes from where I'm from, in Bayville.

So LD could come up and backup for even a couple weeks and go back down.

Fwiw, I kind of worry about Halak’s durability more than I worry about Igor’s.

Knew about tomorrow's game

Wasnt aware of game now til just saw this tweet

Paju had 1+1, Khodo 1G, Ruesh, Korczak each 1A

Garand played 2nd half and was perfect

Pack win 5-1. Goals by Elston, Gettinger, Trivigno, Hendriksson and Fritz. Multi point game for Fritz and Elston. Other assists by Rydahl, Reuschhoff, Korczak, PTO Theocharidis, Pajuniemi, Emberson, Scanlon, DiGiacinto. Domingue goes the whole way. Shots not recorded. Nothing for Cuylle, Robertson, Skinner and Rempe.

Thanks
Seems Skinner, Paju, Henriksson, Triv, Ruesch, Korczak are the NYR guys who played both games

Hoping coach KK takes Skinner more seriously this season

Fyi no T in Elson .

Hartford had made a bunch of moves. Boyko released from his ATO which was expected, so he can go back to Kelowna.

Others were E. Brodzinski, Henault, Gahagen, Jordan, Martin, Lohin, and DiGiacinto to Jacksonville. Only mild surprise there for me is DiGiacinto.

Harris, Masonius, Ryczek, and Sternschein released from their PTO's.

J. Brodzinski cleared waivers and was added to the squad.

I count 15 F, 8 D, 3 G left in camp.

Forwards: Whelan, Fritz, Cuylle, Elson, Rydahl, Smith, Henriksson, Rueschhoff, J. Brodzinski, Gettinger, Rempe, Korczak, Trivigno, Pajuniemi, Khodorenko

Defensemen: Giuttari, Welinski, Theocharidis, Robertson, Emberson, Skinner, Scanlin, Hillman

Goaltenders: Garand, Lindbom, Domingue

They might stand pat with that forward group, unless they think something like Rempe or Korczak should start by getting big minutes in the ECHL. Whelan would seem to be a candidate as well, but the team really seems to like him.

On defense the obvious candidates for a loan to Jacksonville would be Theocharidis or Hillman. Or, again, keep both for the time being.

In goal you assume Lindbom goes down to the ECHL and splits time with Gahagen.

thanks, my counts match yours,
pending 2pm and what happens with Gauth and Tinordi

FYI Jax shows Boyko in their Camp as try-out (Vic Hadfield, the grandson, too)

if welcome by the team (with an OA slot available), either Rempe or Korczak, if seeming overwhelmed, could also be reassigned back to WHL as overagers

also NYR could choose to sign and immediately waive Bartkowski for Hartford
he played on an AHL deal last year and might be ok with that (... not my preferred outcome...)
