I know that Jeff Skinner has been the defacto whipping boy by the coach and the fans, but he hasn't sniffed anywhere near the quality of linemates that Arvidsson has had. Add to that he is paid $1 million less than Arvidsson.

As of today:

Victor Arvidsson 37gp. 6-11-17 +9
Jeff Skinner 46gp. 9-8-17 -7

Arvidsson is at 0.162 goals/game
Skinner is at 0.196 goals/game

Yeah their +/- is a massive +16 difference, but I'm pretty sure that playing with Drai and his whopping +26 has more to do with that than anything that Arvidsson has done.

If we replaced him with Savoie would we ever notice a difference? I would be looking at moving Arvidsson out and giving someone else a look in our top 6. He is too small, weak and snakebit to give us the kind of production that we need in the top 6.

Chad shooter Arvidsson with the 100+ mph in the skills comp. Time to put him on the left wall on PP1!

Just another poor signing, same as J. Skinner. If either player is here for the playoffs prepare for serious frustration. No more little guys please, they wilt when it matters most.

I have some hopes for Skinner to be a sneaky depth scorer in the playoffs in the bottom 6. Like a poor man version of what Kessel did for the pens in their latest cup runs.

i do think we will see more from arvidsson considering he died earlier in the season.....but man i wish we kept holloway, at least when he wasnt scoring he was an effective forechecker and usable on the PK (even though we didnt use him there much)

He sure isn't the player he once was. Has been very disappointing. Maybe a 3rd line spot would do him better.

The problem with our team is we don't have enough quality top 6 wingers and we have too many bottom 6 players.

I was hoping we were getting the Arvidsson I saw play in Nashville and LA. Injuries have probably taken their toll on him but maybe he plays better in the playoffs.

My problem with Arvidsson is that his shot kinda sucks (all things considered) and he takes it indiscriminantly from EVERYWHERE.

It's like he never wants to even take a stride with the puck. Recieves pass 2 feet inside the blueline on a 2on1 ??? That'll be a one timer. Breakaway pass recieved at center ice? He'll be shooting before he hits the hash marks.

I didn't realize his shot was that hard (surprised), but it's not very accurate and he's not very selective of when/how to use it. He's like the anti-Hemsky and every bit as soft.

lol Anti-Hemsky

He hasn’t been a good fit with Draisaitl. I’m a bit confused why he’s basically never been tried with McDavid. They’ve played ~30 minutes together this season.

But no, we’ve got to put a combo of RNH or Hyman up there for the 10 thousandth time instead.

For me it’s not about rewarding or punishing guys. But just trying to find a fit for everyone.

NHL is to diluted, its words from a fan for NHLs heeavyiest stacked offense...

But ship out Arvid if Kane is coming back, and deal with Jeff Skinner as a top6er.

He also has a penchant to one touch pass pucks coming his way even when it's ill advised. So many scoring chances against started in the ozone from him one touching and his linemate completely caught off guard. Not to mention him fumbling the puck

Guy just hasn't been good at all. It's too bad he's buddies with Ekholm. It's probably what will keep him on the team for a bit

And here we thought we finally found Drai some quality wingers this year in Arvidsson and Skinner... lol. Is it THAT HARD to find some good wingers for Drai?
It seems written in the stars that Draisaitl will never have good wingers.

Knob has zero creativity with lines. No awareness of chemistry or fit.

At a 2 mill one year deal, I wouldn't have too much issue with Arvi, especially as it opens the option for moving him at the trade deadline of you think he won't be able to hack it in the playoffs. But 4 million and a 2 year deal really stings.

This is my take too. He doesn't approach the game in the same way as Drai, and his best game this month was when he replaced RNH with McDavid and Hyman. I don't get when it hasn't been tried, it's not like RNH and Hyman have blown the doors down next to McDavid.

Even though I think the better solution is knocking RNH down to the 3rd line, just rotating Hyman and RV makes the top 6 look more balanced.

RNH-McDavid-RV
Podz-Drai-Hyman

Hyman gives Drai and Podz a legitimate goal scorer, who can join them dominating down low; while RV gives McDavid a linemate that actually looks to return the puck quickly in open space. As for my ideal lineup...

RV-McDavid-Hyman
Podz-Drai-Skinner
Rico-RNH-Kap/Brown
Janmark-Philp-Brown/Perry
