For tonight's game:

Wall starts with Huska as backup
Lunquist and Robertson start, Jones , Berolla and Reunanan scratched
Fritz, Reuschhoff and Luchuk start. Ronning and Sanchez scratched. Ronning did not start the second period of the last game but I didn't watch most of the 2nd and 3rd period. So I am guessing Ronning suffered an injury in the first period. Sanchez hasn't played in weeks and must be injured. The ECHL PTOs and Elmer are in the lineup as are Richards and Pajuniemi.

Pack down 3-1 after 2. Hunter Skinner turnover leads to first goal. Pack come back with Fritz making a cross ice pass in the neutral zone to Luchuk who brings the puck into the offensive zone and finds Reuschhoff breaking in alone and he beats Jeremy Swayman. Pack's fourth line with Lundquist and Robertson can't clear the zone and eventually Providence scores from in close. Then a Bruins power play goal. Pack being outshot 27-13. The Fritz-Luchok-Reuschhoff line is the only line generating much.

If you're looking for someone who has stepped up with the exodus of players it is Austin Reuschhoff. I have never understood why he hasn't been given an opportunity to play on a higher line with better players.

Was Skinner playing defense or forward?

He did well last year too Ric. He’s a guy I still have hope for that can be a 4th line NHL player.
Everyone knows I’m a fan of having bigger players on the bottom 6, at least ones that can play hockey. It’s a shame Austin had trouble getting minutes earlier this season.
He’s not overly physical, but he’s got a decent set of hands and he’s not a bad skater.
I like Knoblauch but some of the roster moves made by the pack have been puzzling to me to say the least.
I had Ruesschoff rated Higher then Gettinger, and then Gettinger starts taking the body this year. I have no idea what to think tbh.
Hopefully this kid can at least keep a regular spot from here out with the taxi squad stuff.
We’re going to need at least 1 internal young 4th liner to spell Reaves next season.
Probably 2 if Rooney prices himself out, which is likely imo

Pack win 4-0 with Khodorenko and Reuschhoff (his second) scoring empty net goals and Keith Kinkaid pitching the shut out. Jones back in the line up replacing Skinner. Ronning out again. I think he was hurt Wednesday night. Reuschhoff with 4 goals in last 3 games has used the increased opportunity to show he should be given a bigger role with the Pack.

both NYR and Pack off until wed
today busy day roster-wise for Pack-related players

recall that Pajuniemi, Richards, Jones, Kinkaid returned to Pack very recently

TODAY:
- Brodzinski, Gettinger assigned to Taxi
(leaving NYR w just 11 F's active but Hunt nearing return from injury, Goodrow and Laf eligible to exit protocol soon)
- Greco assigned to Pack
- 3 Fs on AHL PTO's released (Percaro, Luchuk, Hayhurst)

Pack roster now has NO PTO's,
and at the moment, all their guys on AHL deals are still 'up' w Pack
F: Whelan, O'Leary, Fritz, Sanchez, DiGiacinto,
D: Giuttari, Taylor, Berzolla,
G: Brassard

and Pack roster now looking more like an NHL farm team, with all these guys on NYR deals:
F: Richards, Pajuniemi, Greco, Ronning, Rueschhoff, Khodorenko, Elmer
D: Roberston, Jones, Lundkvist, Reunanen, Skinner, Bitetto
G: Kinkaid, Huska (Wall currently on NYR Taxi)

status quo for Pack is that there is no status quo
Hayhurst re-signed to another PTO

2022-01-18 Jacob Hayhurst (C) Hartford ADD Signed to PTO
TheAHL.com | The American Hockey League

UPDATE: Brodz and Getts back w Pack
Pack, like NYR, play Wednesday

with these 3 guys that makes it 15 F's for Pack, but Ronning, Sanchez have missed last few games

probably means Barron to Taxi, w Hunt and Goodrow activated

I just saw that Tanner Fritz was suspended for tonight, based on something he did on the 14th against Providence. Luchuk maybe around just for tonight, to replace him?

I just saw this also. The Pack list 16 forwards on the roster. But Sanchez and Ronning have been out for a couple of games. If they are still out and Fritz is suspended the team is down to 13 forwards. So yes Hayhurst and Luchuk likely will be released as Fritz, Ronning and Sanchez return.

I was sorry to see Berzolla get sent back to Jacksonville. In my very limited viewing he looked like he belonged.

AHL TV is down to their mid-season rates. I think it's $40 if you just want the Wolf Pack games for the rest of the year. Does not include playoffs.

Gettinger forced a turnover at the offensive blue line leading to a 2-on-1, hit Brodzinski in the slot who fired it high glove for the goal.

I think it was Ronning earlier who got rocked and was real slow getting up. EDIT: He was fine.

With all of the call-ups and covid scratches the coaches are finally giving him more of an opportunity. I don't understand why they haven't given him this opportunity before. He plays physically, has a very quick wrist shot and skates well for a big man although skating is not his strength. He did very well last year when he was given a role on the 2nd power play. This year he had been playing 3rd and 4th lines and usually with AHL players rather than better players. Hopefully the coaches give him a run to show what he can do.

that's back to back 2 goal games for rueschhoff. he's got a 4 game goal scoring streak. 9 goals on the season, 6 of them in the last 4 games.
