Pack lose 4-0. Same lineup as Wednesday except newly signed Thompson plays defense and Hunter Skinner moves up to forward. Pack were terrible in the first period and I stopped watching. In the first period, Richards, Running and Greco generated some chances. The defense, made up of 5 PTOs and AHLers Guttiari and Barzola couldn't move the puck out of the zone.
Happy, Healthy and Safe New Year to all.

We had a discussion a few weeks ago as to whether Hartford should focus on winning or developing players. From a player development standpoint it made no sense to me and I guess Fitzy, to move Skinner up to play on the fourth line when this game should have been used to give Skinner a bigger role and let him expand his game as he had done in the previous game. But Hartford only had 11 forwards and the Pack announcer said Skinner had experience as a forward so the team moved him to round out the lines.
I haven't loved several player usage decisions made by Knoblouch.
Could be the Pack is up against the AHL veteran limit and they need the spot because the Ranger plan to either keep Tinordi on the Pack or send down McKegg?

he's been pretty consistent with over point/game,How has Paju looked so far? We could use a shooter on this team
It’s not. It’s ridiculous. Practicing with the rangers is good. But he needs to playThey should send down Barron. If he was actually playing every few games then it'd be worth to keep him up. He isn't beating McKegg a spot for whatever reason. Something has to give. I don't see how this is helping Barron's development at his pro game at the NHL level but watching on the taxi squad.
he's been pretty consistent with over point/game,
yes, his snipe mentality and skill will help, when fully baked
the more important he is as a prospect, the more important it is to let play lots in AHL and not rush him
he is smaller guy and still adapting to the NA rink and game
thanks for the response.
in your estimation how far away is he? What does he still need to work on?
Hartford released Brodzinski and Lee from their PTOs so presumably we will see Schneider, Bitetto and/or Taylor back in the lineup.
Hartford also released PC Labre who then signed with the Amerks.
Crunch sign Labrie to two-year deal.
Currently Hartford has:
13 forwards including PTO Luchuk, who has yet to play, and Sanchez and Elmer from Jacksonville.
8 Defensemen including PRO Fortunato and Zack Berzolla from Jacksonville
3 Goalies including Wall and Brassard from Jacksonville.
He has 15 points in 26 games including 7 goals. He has the hard shot that we saw in Finland but he also handles the puck pretty well and has gotten physical at times. He got off to a little slow start so his path is moving in the right direction. I don't think he is close to NHL level but I believe he is a legit prospect. Unlike some of the other Europeans we have brought in he has adjusted well to the faster speed of the game. Knoblouch changes lines all the time so he hasn't developed chemistry with others. I'd like to see him put on more muscle and work on his skating which seems OK but not great. If he makes it it's going to be because of his offense. Let's see if he continues to develop at the same rate. Maybe cup of coffee next year with a chance to make the team the following year. If he starts putting up big offensive numbers that will be a great sign.
Crazy Labrie got a two-year deal, he's pretty old. I thought that was a possibility when the Pack cut him though, that an SPC was waiting for him somewhere. Honestly I thought the Pack would give it to him, but I can understand why they wouldn't do two years.Hartford released Brodzinski and Lee from their PTOs so presumably we will see Schneider, Bitetto and/or Taylor back in the lineup.
