This thread feels like a respite from the HFNYR storm.
For those who caught the game tonight, is the feed as good as it was pre-Covid?
Honestly... no. The guy that replaced hawk is not my cup of tea... the camera angle seems to have changed, further away/higher up, and the weak 720p feed (pixel party) doesnt help either.
A lot of the excitement for me watching a Pack game kinda died without Hawk.
Personally, and I know this is borderline blasphemy, but I never really cared for Hawk. Not that he wasn't good at his job, I just didn't like his voice. Thanks! I was leaning toward not getting the pass this year anyway; doesn't sound like there's much reason to change my mind on that.
Very happy to hear about Pajuniemi hope he keeps progressingYeah, so far no one has looked as effective or dangerous as Paju. Very impressive. Just wish he had a bit more strength. But he's a smart hockey player. And skilled. And he has tons of hustle. Something I didn't expect given his sniper rep in Finland.
Skinner's had a rough go.
Jones has looked ok. Barron has been ok.
Kinkaid good.
Robertson and Schneider not too shabby.
That's about it so far. Bridgeport has controlled too much of the game. Too many PKs for HFD.

I actually thought the guy last night was good. I mean I was blotto and missed the third but I enjoyed the first two. The feed was definitely grainy and it appeared the camera was zoomed out a bit or something. Here's a clip of the Pajuniemi goal so you can hear/see:
The production values have always been all over the place. I remember in the early days of AHL streams many arenas you were just getting the feed that they'd put on the arena screen. You'd miss game action while seeing video of some fat guy dancing.I liked Hawk a lot, and his voice had the same type of iconic feel to me as any NHL broadcaster that you repeatedly hear for decades. This new guy sounds fine to me though; much better than a couple guys that do team feeds for the NHL even.
I'm going to hold back on the pass, I've decided though. I love watching the Pack, but my free time may be a little more monopolized this year, and I suspect I'll end up not watching enough to justify the purchase. Even though that feed isn't really that bad.
Though if I remember correctly, the last season before Covid was maybe the best ever for production value? This looks like a step back.
Lol... good old days.. fat guys dancing, kiss cam, "POWER PLAY" instead of the gameThe production values have always been all over the place. Donde esta @Ranger Ric ?
Ranger Ric se atascó ayer en 3 aviones tratando de llegar a casa.
Flight from Albuquerque Wednesday cancelled because of weather problems in connecting city Dallas. Stuck in Albuquerque for two days. We spent yesterday on 3 different airplanes to finally land in DC at 12:30 AM this morning.
Trying twitch both Rangers and Hartford. Huska was the best Pack in the first period.
Huska with an outstanding performance, his best game in a Pack jersey i've ever seen. Wow. Too bad the offense beyond Barron and a bit of Pajunemi and Brozinski is basically non-existent.
It would be great if Huska could take a big step forward this year and really put his talent to consistent use.
Yeah, I mentioned it in the thread about backup goalies, I'm not really comfortable that any of the three guys we have in Hartford are better than Georgiev. I'd like to see how the goalie situation shakes out in Jacksonville and maybe have Wall go down there and get a bunch of starts. If there's a logjam down there, though, that's not really an option, either. I guess you could always loan him to a different AHL or ECHL team if things really get jammed up.I think for that to happen, the big club needs to move Georgiev. We have Kinkaid, Huska AND Wall who all need reps. And I really like Wall too.

You're right, if Wall went down he'd take precedence. I looked at their roster earlier and it showed Charles Williams who has been around and had good success in the minors, Francois Brassard, and Hayden Hawkey (real name). I'm not sure the contract status of each.I think JAX as the official affiliate would be playing NYR prospects over their own, of course, when the perfomance is there. I beliebe the have LaCouvee and Williams in goal down in JAX.
