Haven't heard anything. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he is traded shortly or, more likely, agrees to a mutual buyout and returns to Finland. He has no real path to the NHL and could make a better living overseas, whether in Liiga or the KHL or SHL.

I could see a path to the NHL with another organization, but def not us if we aren’t shipping Jones out for Eichel.

Jonny Brodzinski is your 21-22 #HWP captain. Tim Gettinger & Anthony Bietto have the A’s.
Gettinger is deserving. He has been a good trooper down on Hartford. He has showed well tonight, too, despite a generally weak period. I still think he could carve out a future in the NHL. But at the minimum, he's an excellent AHL player that may just not have the extra gear needed for the NHL. Which is fine--he's still in the 99th percentile of hockey players.

D pairs are:

Bitetto-Jones
Robertson-Schneider
Giutarri-Skinner

- Jones on playing on the right. You guys can read into that as much as I can
- I got in a little late and if they said why Reunanen is scratched I missed that, but interesting to note
- I thought Ronning, Pajuniemi, and Labrie were the Wolfpack's 3 best players. Their best chances came off of two great passes from Ronning (one to Khodorenko all alone in front, and one saucer on the rush to spring a partial breakaway), and a pass from Labrie to Pajuniemi. Hopefully someone will put up a video of Pajuniemi's goal. He picked up a loose puck off a Jones-to-Barron entry where Barron got tied up and fired a long distance shot the goalie couldn't handle. Probably doesn't get in on an NHL goalie, but maybe a sign of how good his shot is too.
- The Schneider-Roberston pairing had a few rookie moments and did not look great

Yeah, for sure. If another team has scouted him and really likes him I could see someone offering a late pick for him. Otherwise I'm not sure anyone would target him. He seems more like the type that would be requested as an extra piece in a larger trade. He's a very good AHL player, not sure if he can defend well enough to play on the NHL unless he's also given a big PP role, but who knows.

I also want to point out that my wife has several of her sorority sisters over tonight and tomorrow night. The sorority is still a thing 20 years later. So I'm drunk and will be getting worse, so if my posts become unintelligible my bad.

ok. 2 periods done on AHL TV. i gave the guy a fair chance. that new play-by-play (actually, next to no pbp when the Pack have the puck, a lot of bla bla promo mid play, too much "x played with team y in the insert junior league) is no-bueno. ALSO, he accidentally said SHIT instead of SHIFT lol (he did follow up with a quick "excuse me") so maybe there is hope lol.

maybe somebody also needs to tell him that he is the Wolfpack announcer, not Bridgeport. Every time the Isles have a good scoring chance, he gets super excited and sounds super disappointed when they don't score... wtf? of the isles end up winning this game, you'll probably find him high-5ing the Bridgeport players as they head off the ice... get a grip man.

He is looking impressive. He will be called up soon if he plays like this.

Yeah, so far no one has looked as effective or dangerous as Paju. Very impressive. Just wish he had a bit more strength. But he's a smart hockey player. And skilled. And he has tons of hustle. Something I didn't expect given his sniper rep in Finland.

Skinner's had a rough go.

Jones has looked ok. Barron has been ok.

Kinkaid good.

Robertson and Schneider not too shabby.

That's about it so far. Bridgeport has controlled too much of the game. Too many PKs for HFD.

I just hope (and I do belive it will go this way given the Kravtsov treatment) that Pajuniemi will be called up when there is going to be suitable spot open for him. It's not going to be that 4th line winger spot, but replacing an injury in the top-6, maybe top-9 with at least #2 PP time. That's when it makes sense to call him up. Obviously if you just want to give him one game at the show just for shits and giggles with limited time then whatever, but I doubt that's what the organization is looking at doing.

There's no harm in giving him the Ryan Callahan 2006-07 development path. Let him get a cup of coffee and play bottom 6 but also PP 2.

Go back down and keep working on his strength and winning puck battles. And then come up at the end of the year for an extended look or to win a spot.

Would be nice for Kakko to have another Finn on the team
Or if our AHL affiliate was closer. That would help as well. Like Toronto and Winnipeg have their teams play in the same building! Obviously Marlies won't play all their games at Scotiabank, and it would not be possible with MSG either, but you get the point. Teams are close, players are close, makes it easier to evaluate them live, easier to call 'em up, easier for them to be in touch with the NHLers.

Not like the Hartford situation is bad at the moment, few hours away is still pretty good when you think about what Vancouver Cannucks and Utica Comets had going on durin 2013-2021.

Or, someone forces Mika to take more Finnish lessons... He's got a decent head start already.

Hopefully Pajuniemi helps us forget about Kravtsov. I did like what I saw from him in preseason.

Hopefully a more offensive Jesper Fast type. Is he good defensively? Not familiar with that part of his game.
