The one additional comment I want to make about the first two games. Gettinger has added an edge to his game. Its really noticeable. I think the rest of his game is pretty good. He's not as impactful as Barron, but I think Gettinger is getting close to being a decent 4th line option with his size, newfound grit and PK ability. He keeps on finding ways to improve his chances and I think he deserves some recognition for it.
He started out really gritty a few years ago but I recall he went with some AHL tough guy and got hurt pretty bad. Think it was a really bad concussion. Came back a from the injury with a softer game.

Agree. He is right there on the cusp and a more in your face bite to his game may give him a future as an NHL fourth liner. Good hands. Good smarts. Has some skill.

It would be great if Huska could take a big step forward this year and really put his talent to consistent use.
Don’t sleep on my boy huska. He stabilized the pack goaltending last year when it was a bit shaky. Bigger goalies tend to take longer to develop.
I still think he can become a quality NHL back up to shesty.
I would love to see him get a chance over Geo

I have been a fan since he started at UConn. I have always ranked him above Wall. Last year he was a godsend in settling things down for Hartford. I am just worried that he hasn't shown any consistency since 2017. He definitely has the talent.

3 games into the season, the young D (Jones, Robertson, Schneider) really looked overmatched, Skinner looks especially overmatched. Shocked at all the mistakes, errors and issues they have.
Bitteto is worse than horse sh and I still can't believe he played in the NHL last year.
Taylor and Giuttari wer unnoticable steady (= good), Reunanen (or as the new play-by-play guy likes to call him, Reunan) is playing his first game today.

Kinkaid is having an amazig game, highlight reel save after highlight reel save and very calm. If Huska and Kinkaid keep this up, Wall needs to go to JAX cus he won't see the ice.
One more thing: Is it just me seeing this, or is Pajunemi slow as hell? He's skating in molases, he's been beat numerous times now in sprints by players that were further away/further behind him.

Play by play guy is starting to piss me off... talks about Kinkaid's UFA status back in 2013 or whatever while the Pack are in on a 2-0 breakaway from the centre red line. The guy just reads of his notes. It's like a f'ing ticker on who played where in junior/overseas or what happend 382 years ago. Get a grip man.

So you're saying Jones who was impressive in the NHL last season, Robertsson , Schneider, and Paj all look like garbage? This game or all of the games this season?

"...look overmatched". Bitteto is garbage... the young D not. Yes, I watched all 3 games this weekend.

Bitteto scored a highlight reel goal in the NHL last year... today a guy put him on his knees with a beer league dangle and scored for the Bruins. Last year was year, this year started with 3 games in 3 days for the Pack.

It's a young group. I think they'll all improve. One of the reasons we went so young was because of all the young talent, particularly on D. They've been treading water behind good goaltending through the first three.

With or without Barron and McKegg, I think they could stand to add another good veteran AHL forward. I don't get the sense they will, but they should.

This is accurate. Just like the big club, it's been mostly on the goalies.

I worry about our young D having to do too much in HFD to stand out. Three players who are fairly adept at making a good first pass are playing on a team that doesn't have a ton of talent up front. And the A isn't known for being a wide open league with tons of creativity.

Two small positives: there was much more room vs the baby bruins. Springfield smothered the pack. Like kept us in our own zone the whole game. And the other positive: I think Robertson stood out more yesterday compared to the other young D. His size and skating ability are noticeable at this level.

I'm 100% with you on the young D, they will eventually improve, adapt and settle. Kinkaid/Huska have been lights out...

For years now the Pack just can't sign/get a hold of a true AHL 4-star player, the last being Kris Newbury, who could decide a game almost by himself and made the others around him better. The vets for years have been garbage now... and it shows.

On AHL tv do you get the On-Demand games for free?

I haven’t paid for a subscription but am able to watch the 3 past games on demand.

Or is it just for the trial period which I thought ended last week

Gettinger with a terrible pass attempt on a 2-on-1, puck held in, he's fed for a shot all alone five feet out, it's stopped, he gets it back and rips a sister from the top of the circle and hits the cross bar. LOL.

He did show some decent speed in the sequence.
