Waste of a draft pick. Should have drafted a North American type that wont go home. Enough of these prospects bolting for Europe. His fault to wait to long to come over to North America. Should have came over at 20.
this is ridiculous lol, at 20 he was barely a prospect. he exploded in the finnish league and then came to the AHL. it's just not working for whatever reason. he's had a strong post-draft career, it just won't continue here.

He topped out as a solid AHL player. He'll be 24 in September. Not every pick is going to hit.

in addition to Ryan Lohin a couple days back, Pack have recalled F Easton Brodzinski from Jax

rookie pro, who I have mentioned occasionally in prospect discussions,
relating to extended NCAA eligibility during Covid era, he played 5 full seasons at St Cloud, thru '22
last season, after NCAA season, he'd played 1 game for Pack
25, RH RW, younger brother of Jonny**

with 2 recent F recalls, and recent RHD PTO,
curious whether Pack
- has guys banged up,
- wants to merge guys in in advance of playoffs, or
- wants to rest guys if Final game has nothing at stake

**another brother Mike, played a few games at D for Pack last season;
a 4th brother, Bryce, just finished 4th season with Gophers, was late Flyers pick years back

Alex Thomas tweet says Domingue expected in goal tonight and that Sykora and Edstrom might get in.

Pack now have 21 forwards on the roster. Even with Smith and Khodorenko out the team is at 19 forwards meaning at least 7 healthy scratches. So additions not needed this weekend. Not clear why Brodzinski and Lohin brought up. DiGiacinto and Tardif have been up for long stretches and have been bouncing back and forth. Jacksonville has clinched a playoff spot and is second in its division. With the final games this weekend the team has a remote chance to finish first and if they lose all three games this weekend the team could finish third.

Perhaps will learn more during the pre game.

So what is the word on Sykora back to Europe, WHL OHL juniors or will he get time in the AHL and not be another Kovics bust?

Edstrom and Sykora in. Trivigno and Leschyshen scratched. All other new kids and ECHL players scratched. Hillman in for Hajak. Domingue in goal. Pack playing with mostly veteran lineup.

Except for Smith and Khodorenko other forwards are healthy scratches. Login on roster but not with team. Hasn't reported.

Pack 2-0 after 2. Carpenter finds Ellis all alone in front for the score.

Charlotte 2-1 over Lehigh Valley near the end of the 2nd period.

Providence and Springfield tied at 2 near the end of the 2nd.

Sykora and Edstrom have gotten very little ice time.

Hartford resigned Hillman for next year.

So Hartford is gonna turn into to an AHL vet club like the days of Derek Armstrong and Brad Smyth with prospects stacked in the ECHL🤮

That f***ing beauty of a goal tonight aside, I think we may see Edstrom from here on out with Brodzinski and Leshitshow up. He's definitely the most ready out of the Berard/Sykora/BMB prospect group. I would think there's a good chance DiGiacinto comes back up, too.

Time for Garand to shine.

I'm glad they left some guys in Hartford. If/when the Pack are eliminated I would guess we'd see Carpenter, Blidh, possibly Gettinger, maybe Cuylle go up.

On defense it's hard to guess. They usually want the guys with NHL experience but I really don't get the sense the team trusts Zac Jones, so maybe you see Kalynuk or even a wildcard like Emberson or Robertson.

Nasty move, pretty nice stride for a guy that tall.

nasty goal, happy for the kid. don't know much about him other than he's a large human. had the expectation based on descriptions that his skating would be ok at best, esp as a big guy with a long stride moving to the small ice. very small sample size but wow was that impressive, he really exploded off his first hard stride. every bit as impressive though was how smooth his pivot into the stride was...you just don't see many big guys who can open up and then turn up ice with a crossover into a hard stride in basically one continuous motion like he did there. you don't see many at all really who can be that efficient and explosive regardless of size. the move and finish are nice but if that's an accurate reflection of his skating overall and he plays at the right pace/will forecheck and be physical...he has the ability to force his way on next years roster.

odds are he's got some ways to go rounding out his game and needs some time, because if he did everything else at the level his skating showed on that play i'd think his prospect status would be in the elite tier.
