Pack have 7 wins in a row now. It might not happen because the Pack could still go higher in the standings and they might not want to screw with a lineup that's on a roll but I think there's a bit more chance of seeing guys like Rempe, Berard, Edstrom, Sykora and BMB now that the Pack have clinched a playoff spot.
While home-ice in play, maybe not yet,
but if locked into a seed for final game, becomes more likely

At the very least it helps the young guys get acclimated with pro life and their surroundings (facilities, city) and what to expect in the fall.

I know someone like Edstrom was planning on vacation, but this is his head start for strength and skill training for the NA game,

Very happy with the streak they were able to pull over the last 3-4 weeks. Able to earn playoff spot so anything extra will be a bonus.

only 1 point separates them from the 3 teams ahead of them so the games still have meaning but now that they have clinched a playoff spot you might see some of those kids get some time in the last 2 games. especially if there are guys they want to rest for the playoffs.

Charlotte wins moving three points ahead of the Pack with both teams having two games remaining. Charlotte has Wilkes Barre and Lehigh Valley left to play.

Boyko was added to Hartford.

So was some guy named Louie Roehl, a defenseman who is 25, was with Wheeling on the ECHL where he had 24 points in 60 games, and has never played in the AHL.

Gerry Cantlon also says Ollas is with Hartford but I haven't seen any confirmation on that.

Also Lohin recalled

Roehl is RHD, completing rookie season after 5 NCAA at Duluth

Kind of wonder if they are at least calling up a third goalie once the regular season is over, plus a few spares as well for when guys need days off of practice.

Would stink for Hartford to lose players, but Rangers more important obviously.

I would imagine there's a chance Domingue moves up to the Black Aces so they'd need a fill in for him, for sure.

interesting re Ollas, if true
below is link/quote to the Cantlon report cited by @nyr2k2
i also have not found any corroborating reports, yet

Ollas will turn 21 next week after 2 seasons in Hockey East
he shared the crease equally with Borgiel, undrafted, who is turning 23 shortly, after 3 seasons at Merrimack

The Hartford Wolf Pack got MUCH bigger at goalie, adding two 6’8 giants in Talyn Boyko and Hugo Oilas.
...
The other signee is also a 6’8 goalie. He’s Hugo Ollas from Merrimack College (HE).

The HFD site also has storied on both the Roehl and Boyko moves, but nothing on Ollas.

The article says signee but doesn't say the type of contract he signed. Could be an ATO Amateur Tryout Contract so Oilas retains his college eligibility. Cap Friendly still lists Oilas as being on the reserve list.

Pratical definitions vs common use of ATOs seems inconsistent to me
(1) ATOs are used at Dev Camp and guys keep their NCAA eligibility.
(2) in late season, AHL ATOs often go to players who are already signed as pros for following season. Why dont those guys get PTOs, and any improved compensation that those might provide.
And even unsigned guys intending to turn pro seem to at least sometimes sign ATO rather than PTO
What Ric suggests seems apt on the surface, but it seems we rarely (if ever) see guys join actively competing teams on ATO but return to college.
And there is some unconfirmed 'urban legend' fuzzy insights that say players cant retain eligibility if they compete in scheduled games which include pro players.

If Ollas is with Pack in ATO, but with intent of playing Hockey East next season, what are the benefits, and restrictions, of that status?

Obviously if he can practice and train w team and team staff, he gets same benefits guys like Sykora, BMB, Boyko derive, even if they dont dress for games...

TIA for any insights

Bridgeport clinging to a one-goal lead with 8 minutes left against Lehigh Valley. If that holds Hartford stays just a point behind LV but now with the same amount of games played.

The goal at this point is to get ahead of both LV and Springfield, and into fourth, where we'd then have home ice in the opening best-of-three. Hartford does have a game left against Springfield.

Yeah, I had been predicting since early in the season that he'd either end up back in Finland or the SHL. He'll undoubtedly have a very good career there.
