If Providence wins Pack plays Springfield. Pack have lost twice to Springfield 1-0 this season.

Springfield won 9 of the 12 games the teams played this season.

Springfield led 7-2 in regulation wins.

The Pack won a game in OT.

Springfield won both games going to a shootout.

Springfield won 6 of the games by 2 or more goals.

The Pack were shut out in 4 of the games (including the last two games the teams played) and scored 2 or less goals in 5 of the games.

This is a best of three series. The Pack are clearly the underdog.

Definitely underdogs. And unlike the Pack, Springfield is affiliated with St. Louis who of course missed the playoffs, so they didn't suffer any personnel losses. They actually got a couple guys back from St. Louis just recently.

Parker Gahagen was recalled from Jacksonville. I imagine he'll be the primary backup to Garand.
It didn't seem likely that the Pack were going to rely on Boyko, who hasn't played an AHL game yet, was going to be the backup to Garand. Presumably Lindbom will have the net during Jacksonville's playoff run.

It does seem likely given the starts breakdown this season, although Charles Williams is a very good ECHL goalie who excelled in his 15 starts this year. If he's healthy and I was Jacksonville I might look more towards him.

That guy plays in my men's league hockey league and isn't that good there. Literally.

Cooper Zech was reassigned back to Hartford. He was sent to Jacksonville where he was promptly injured his first game and didn't play again.

Yeah I looked him up, EP only has two entries for him, this year and last year in Jacksonville with no appearances. It's weird because even the EBUGs usually played some mildly competitive HS hockey or for some DIII or USports school.

Do you know if he works for or is somehow affiliated with the team?

Yeah he has worked for the team a bit. I think he has filled in for them as a glorified backup at times as well. But he's not good...

Hartford off to a strong start with several good chances and Pajuniemi beating Joel Hoffer after a great pass from Fritz. 1-0 Pack at the first TV timeout.

Sykora-Henrikkson-Trivigno had several good chances.

I thought Paju went back to Europe. Glad he stayed for the rest of this season. Guess I read that wrong and he is going back next year.

There was a rumor in the Swedish press that he wanted to sign in the SHL, which is something some of us have speculated would be happening for a while. But he's still under contract for the moment.
