I said Keane is like a poor man's DeAngelo at the AHL level. He does some really great stuff with the puck but also makes some really poor decisions and can just struggle in his own end in general. He's not a disaster by any means, but he's not excelling at the two-way play like I think he may be able to. And again, we're talking in the AHL. I think if you throw him in the NHL, he'd be in over his head.

John Gilmour part 2?

Those speed times look crazy. Are we sure that they raced the same distance, or that they had to start at the redline and not the far blueline, or that they weren't allowed to have more than a couple foot headstart?

Still good to see that he can keep up with the fastest AHL All-Stars, whether it is actually one-to-one comparable to the NHL guys.

Not sure how much these times say, Nygård crushed McDavid in EDMs speed competition. I would bet that the same player at least is +\- 3/10 from race to race.

But it shows that Keane is fast for sure! :)

Yeah, we are of course a bit spoiled with Fox and TDA. But settling down the decision making is Keane’s big challenge and an area where he probably is a bit after in. He can make really good instinctive plays at a high speed and got the wheels and hands to support it, but he mixes too many lows with the high in areas of the ice where you can’t afford many mistakes.

John Gilmour part 2?
He moves well but not quite like Gilmour. And fortunately Keane is way younger than Gilmour was, so he has plenty more development ahead of him. He's already better defensively than Gilmour was. Gilmour was good at things like zone exits, but sucked at more traditional elements of defense.

I did draw a parallel between the two in that people see the numbers and maybe think the player is something he's not. But even though I'm not as high on Keane as some, he's definitely way better than Gilmour in terms of his actual NHL prospects.

I know offense isn’t everything but he has 26 points in 43 games so far this year at the age of 20. If he finishes the season with 45-50 points as a rookie in the AHL, I can’t imagine him playing another full year in the AHL next season. Maybe a half season but something will need to give.

Said it in the roster building thread, but Keane could use another AHL season under his belt, maybe a call up here or there, but being in the AHL until this time next year is probably ideal.

We're in no rush as our RHD depth is possibly one of the best in the NHL

Agreed, he will only be 21 all of next season, for a talented kid getting opportunistic usage, points can be the 'easier' part of becoming NHL ready

Kravtsov has 4 points in his last 6 games.

I'm sure coming back after not really playing in Russia was tough to get going, but he's gotten going.

Didn't watch the full game last night cause the Rangers are on, but the points are coming. Hope the rest of the play was there last night

Just curious why the hashtag? I thought the tweet was some nyr PR dude at first.

Well, it's the team's hashtag and people will search that looking for content they aren't already following. Gives a broader audience to the post.

People will use the trending tags on Twitter as a way for people to look at their post, even if it has nothing to do with the tag.

How has Hajek looked since going back down to Hartford? Better than last year?
