Yeah I read that in his article yesterday. It wasn't something I had considered but is a great point.Brooks made a good point the other day. Players have to be on the AHL roster (at least on paper) as of the trade deadline in order to be eligible for the AHL playoffs. NHL teams only get 4 callups after the trade deadline. So if we send guys down so they'll be eligible, and then bring them back up, we will use up our callups.
It would be nice if we could add a couple forwards for the playoffs, but it probably won't happen.
I think he said of we sent down Kakko, Chytil, Lindgren, and Shesterkin (or something like that) to make them eligible for the AHL playoffs, then called them right back up, then we'd be out of guys to call up and couldn't bring up Kravtsov (or Rykov or whoever).
