Obviously he's still very young but Hajek has shown me nothing to indicate why he was so heavily targeted by the Ranger brass.Down 2-0 early in this one.
Not much Shesterkin could do on both. 1st was a bad bounce off the boards and the 2nd was a bad turnover by Hajek behind the net. Hajek still looks like he did in the NHL. Lots of issues with his game at the moment.

He has a lot of tools. His skating is very good and can be physical.
He struggles with the puck on his stick a lot, and I've noticed he's still getting run over by dudes when making plays.
Something has to click in mentally at some point. He's still playing like he would in juniors, where getting run like that doesn't happen from time to time.
Not sure he ever should have made the team this season. He looks like a guy that needs more than a year in the AHL from now. Needs to work on his puck skills and being more aware out there, which comes with reps.
You’re doing the lord’s work.
The pack's 3rd goal. Shesterkin throwing some sauce up the ice leading to the goal

I forgot who tweeted it, but I saw that pass from multiple angles. The angle from behind the net was even more amazing. What a pass. As much as I love Hank, he looks like he is trying to bat away a grenade whenever he tries to handle the puck. This is going to be fun to watch over the years.

Weren't we targeting Foote, but TB said "no, you but you can have Hajek"?
So is Rykov likely to get a look over Hajek?
Pack won 3-2 and this save sequence helped seal the deal
Good weekend for Shesterkin in Hartford, stops 59 of 62 shots and a couple wins

Man I don't know, Rykov is strong and physical, but not in that way where he goes out there looking to crunch people. And I don't really think he's particularly nasty. He had 36 PIM in 3 KHL seasons and has 4 in 21 AHL games this year. Not really his style. He'll battle in front and in the corners and throw an opportunistic body check, but that's basically it.Sure hope so, I think Rykov can provide the same stomp-yo-ass attitude Lindgren has.
