so I guess he isn’t being sent back down during the break. I figured he would be sent down since rangers aren’t playing anyway and he earned the all star appearance but maybe he doesn’t care lol
I think the salaries for players are calculated by days on the roster. So Shesterkin would probably prefer collecting an NHL paycheck over the break to being sent down to play in the AHL game. Of course it's the Rangers' call, but I guess either they don't care or just feel like rewarding Shesterkin.

yes that is true unless its a conditioning assignment then you still make the nhl salary, but not sure if that would make him eligible for the allstar game

I would not be. I think that he earned the All Star start and will probably be sent to them for the playoff run
They already added two additional goalies to the Atlantic roster (Nedeljkovic and Vanecek) and also Lettieri. I don't think he's going down for the ASG stuff.
I do think he may go down for the playoffs, though.

The AHL regular season ends a week after the NHL regular season. So, assuming we're out of the playoffs, there'd be nothing for Shesterkin to do between April 4 and potentially the World Championship the first week of May. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to let him run roughshod over the AHL.

The Rangers will most likely be golfing when the Pack is in the playoffs. No reason not to send Shesty down to get more games and help them win.
